  1. I figure just set it and forget it. Like reinvesting dividends.
  2. Ha, that's exactly what I decided on to split the difference on my indecision, only on eth though.
  3. Where does this thinking end though? We aren't horses in this country and we don't get led to water. Choices having consequences isn't even a half formed solution to any problem. Because the motocross racer made choices, his right to medical attention is lessened? What if the vaccine would unnecessarily risk exacerbating existing cardiac issues in an individual? That's why equal access works better, unless martial law is needed, because it takes the deciding part out of the potentially wrong or currently uninformed hands every time.
  4. Who’s the gaucho coach? Yes, hella lazy
  5. Juiston is an instinctive rebounder but not a cerebral player at all. Hamilton sucks at defense. Clyburn is so inconsistent, yet the whole team looks to him. This team makes many, many bone-headed plays. Red flag? I hate to think so, but I do. We could’ve overwhelmed that team and yet the whole attitude is very timid. Strange...
  6. So is there steaming for this or only TV?
  7. WTF is that thing? That was just chilling above Charlotte recently and I've never even heard about that.
  8. We get it...we get you...we get your overly stated position on the matter. UNLV quite possibly has the fewest bright spots of any football program in history, and continually under performing. Yet here we are today and we've managed to keep our facilities on par or better than our peers. For me at least, Sanchez doesn't even register on the blunder scale. Your obsession far out weighs the actual problem.
  9. Two books that I've recently read that i'd recommend for a quick read: The Operator- Marginal writing but almost unbelievable real-life action. Also somewhat disturbing in the same real-life perspective. The River of Doubt- Story of Teddy Roosevelt's river journey through unknown parts of the Amazon jungle during a rough patch in an utterly amazing life. Pretty much all you need to know about that one if you know anything about Teddy.
  10. Those are incredible! Wow!
  11. 5 years ago or so I was lucky enough to have helped a friend with a once-in-a-lifetime Oryx hunt in southern NM. He misplaced a gear bag with his field knife and we ended up dressing that massive animal with a off-the-shelf little CRKT he had bought literally on the way down there...not exactly fun as he put it, and I don't know if it corresponds with the Taiwan move, but as far as the knife, I couldn't complain. Although I have a suspicion this may have been on purpose to elevate the story of the experience lol. I actually wouldn't blame him. A hunter who is lucky enough to draw such a hunt knows that no matter what happens, the some kind of story of the experience is expected.
  12. I've never been a serious collector but I certainly appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of good knives, especially hand-made. Any blades really. An age-old craft as old as human tools in all reality. I have a Kershaw fixed blade hunting knife with a rubberized handle that I've had for 15 years and has skinned/cleaned many a animals over the years. Its not pretty, but I haven't met its utilitarian equal yet. The balance is perfect. I also have two A.G. Russell folders that are very nice to look at but I never carry them because I always seem to manage to lose the daily carriers. I just go with whatever CRKT or Kershaw that's decently priced. I find them to be good quality for a good price. Excellent thread.
  13. This potential fact may actually be important like once every decade. The best talent from the state in the last ten years came from the last two coach's sons. Not trying to be a d*ck but UNM hasn't and won't be successful by mining NM for D1 talent.
  14. Until proven otherwise it still seems we're on the repeat cycle. An offense that lights it up and a defense that more often than not, gets lit up. I'm fine with not having a dominant defense, if the offense can really score, but at least find a way to get to the QB or defend the pass even just a little... Like baseball, the bats can be bananas, but if you can't get outs consistently, it's never more than a toss up and consequently you'll never be more than a .500 club. I'm with other posters who've said they shouldn't be so conservative on defense. They can't afford to and don't have the talent to. Be gamblers on defense. What the hell do they have to lose on a defense that gives up over 30 every game anyway...
  15. I honestly couldn't care less if the hire is someone who's a name or if i've heard of them or not. Who ever it is needs to have at least some charisma and has to be determined and dogged to stick to their plans. Sell vision. Not unlike CTS. Otherwise lesser people like TKM just easily get dragged down in the tug-of-war politics at a place like UNLV and end up doing nothing or worse. It sounds so damn simple, but solid leadership in UNLV's AD has been missing for awhile and decidedly absent recently.
  16. Where's this coming from? Edit: Scratch that...didn't see the other thread you posted..
  17. I expect to be entertained by you at the least....and this is what you come up with? Weak.
  18. UNLV's peak, or one of them, was, and likely will be higher than any at SDSU, but yes, by all means we should feel sad and embarrassed about it in comparison to SDSU....
  19. Oh no doubt. He's not proven he can beat those type of teams as of yet, which he absolutely will need to . Again, I'll give it the "NMSU"benefit of the doubt. He won't get any free passes at UNLV outside of this year and maybe next year if an upswing is clearly evident.
  20. I fine with all that, with the exception of how you could really label Menzies as anything at this point unless you've personally worked with him or other coaches have said that about him. Other coaches have actually highly praised him. At this point, he went from Pitinos staff to NMSU, where year in and year out he pretty much did everything an NMSU is capable of, short of winning a few first round games, which at NMSU is way more about luck and match-ups. Labeling him mediocre or anything else is way too premature considering he hasn't even had a forum to prove himself outside of the lower levels, to which, he pretty much did.
  21. No real expectations this year with all things considered, but I will say this current 6 game losing streak or whatever it is and getting absolutely demolished in Reno has me actually feeling a little disappointed in CMM. While it was a throw away year, you also want to try and not completely snuff out any good vibes surrounding the program moving forward either lol.
  22. Exactly. Menzies will get something done. I think Menzies will match Kruger by year 5 with tourney appearances, wins, etc. and maybe a S16. I just think with some talent and time, we'll be one the best teams in the west again.
  23. I hate Tom Brady and Pats like crazy but I've never respected them more than that second half. They got their collective shit together and smoked the falcons in that half. Falcons were reeling. Brady had some unbelievable throws with some insane catches by his receivers. You can't not respect that team and that coaching staff after that.
  24. Ah no way!? Were you one of the previous afternoon guys? I listen to that station quite a bit when I'm in ABQ.
  25. What an asshole post. Oh wait...Masterfrog....carry on
