  1. I couldn't have said it any better. As I said in the Final Four thread, at the end of the day, Convert just doesn't have the oomph that bluerules has. Practically everything bluerules gets a rise out of folks, whereas Convert is, as you said, misguided - but that doesn't mean that he can't be a pain in the +++. Basically, Convert *thinks* he's contributing to a discussion (yet usually fails miserably) whereas bluerules just doesn't give a crap. You're right, bluerules is the king of infantile drivel. The only person I can think of who ranks up there with him in that department is the Moose's Whistle.
  2. A better showing against Utah would have really helped. Not to mention that CSU has struggled with the Aztecs for some strange reason in recent seasons. 7.5 sounds about right. And I even picked SDSU to cover in the week 9 pick'em thread.
  3. Let's not compare Utah to Oklahoma. Utah has some speed, but they can't match Oklahoma's. Not by a longshot. TCU completely shut down BYU in a game a lot of folks thought the Cougars would win because their passing attack was like nothing the Frogs had seen before. And Utah hasn't faced a defense like TCU's. The Utes won't win it on the ground, it'll take a Sam Bradford-type effort from Johnson for the Utes to win. The Frog's secondary isn't quite like its front 7, but it battened down the hatches on Thursday and even has a couple extra days to prepare for Utah. Utah won't have their way with TCU. They may win, but it won't be a 35-10 thrashing.
  4. TCU might have something to say about another BCS appearance by Utah...
  5. Sperry isn't the same as he was pre-injury. He's still a good TE but fell down a notch or two after getting a cheap shot against Cal last year. Many TE's in the country have since passed him by, and he's probably not even the best TE in the conference anymore (I'd give the nod to Pitta). Sperry might still have a shot of being a first-day pick but he pretty much kissed his first-round dreams bye-bye. And I highly doubt that he regrets playing for CSU. I'm sure team chemistry, a dedicated coaching staff, and getting a quality education while staying close to home are more important than going to some big-name school that gets conference titles year after year. And Wyoming might have seen better days but they'll be back too, and sooner than a lot of folks think.
  6. Let's go back to 2004 and see how the BCS opponents fared. 2004: Texas A&M 7-5 Arizona 3-8 North Carolina 6-6 Pitt 8-4 2005: Arizona 3-8 North Carolina 5-6 (and Utah lost this one) Georgia tech 7-5 2006: UCLA 7-6 (Utah lost) 2007: Oregon State 9-4 (another Utah loss) UCLA 6-7 Louisville: 6-6 2008: Michigan 2-5 (a losing season is almost assured for the Wolverines) Oregon State 4-3 (they're decent but a bowl game is far from a lock) There you have it. Utah's BCS opponents since 2004, with the exception of 2007 Oregon State and 2004 Pitt they were 3-8 and 6-6 type teams, and Utah couldn't even beat all of them. Go ahead and try to argue, you stupid toothless hick. Maybe you should start worrying more about getting that moonshine across the county line instead of college football since you are likely incapable of comprehending simple facts.
  7. Whoopty-doo, the vast, vast majority of those BCS teams the mighty Utes have beaten have been bottom-feeders and teams that were barely bowl-eligible. Go away, you crazy inbred waste of space, and never come back. Robert's got nothing on this piece of work. This guy has less than 20 posts and all of them are bashing CSU and Wyoming for the stupidest of reasons. Robert can be a pain every now and then but most of the time I've got no problem with him.
  8. I have a better idea. Let's kick Utah out of the Mountain West and stick them in the Big 12 or SEC where they would be 5-7 every year.
