  1. I think you're simplifying too much. I'm talking about the free speech of the day (verbal and print medium) versus all the modern social media that hundreds of millions of people in the U.S. (and billions of others around the world) now utilize - multiple times every day. No way, no how, did the Founding Fathers foresee how powerful the concept of "free speech" - especially when unchecked - would become, and in that particular context. In the late 1700's and early 1800's, what, there were only around 5 million people in the U.S.? And how many of those truly even had access to platforms that could one could argue stretched to the concept of free speech? A rickety soap box that no one cared about outside the local saloon? A one in one thousand (or maybe more) shot at a letter to the editor, you know, actually being published? A church meeting in Frontier America attended by a half dozen parishioners? I mean, nowadays, anyone and everyone can lie to their heart's content - even incite lawlessness or make life or death threats - all under the guise of "free speech". This happens pretty much with complete impunity on the Internet these days. Call me skeptical as to the Founding Father's being down with that sort of nonsense. You can't tell me that the things that that Marjorie Taylor-Green bitch subscribed to a couple years ago, and which is now just coming under greater scrutiny, would've played well back near Revolutionary times. Free speech, although terribly important to all, has nonetheless been perverted by those who seek to exploit the weak of mind, often for nefarious reasons. Just ask Cult 45...
  2. JFC, I know this is a squirrelly issue (slippery slope), but protected speech in these forums really has gone too far. It should not be a case wherein anyone can say just anything, and with complete impunity. Changes to social media, IMO, are inevitable. At least the rules/laws surrounding users of same. Clearly, the Founding Fathers did not anticipate the complexities that such “free speech” would someday entail. It’s gonna be a tough nut to crack, as this dialog absolutely is not going away anytime soon...
  3. Watched that live yesterday. Total destruction and a complete embarrassment for the GOP and their ridiculous position. Mr. Constitution SAS doesn't know Richard about it. Must be taking notes/cues from Tommy Tuberville...
  4. McConnell is a lot of things, but stupid isn’t one of them. Twice Impeached Orange Man is poison, toxic... whatever you want to call it (Head Dipschitt is also very much accepted/applicable). Mitch recognizes this and is smart to divorce himself from the ultimate turd. There we will be fallout, sure, but the Republican Party needs to start damage control ASAP. It will take them a long time to manage that, but in the meantime he’s apparently set on righting the ship. One only hopes he decides to vote to convict the soon to be ex (and disgraced) Pres and that many others in the GOP follow in line...
  5. I vaguely remember reading the book. There was a movie made about it, too. Not that great...
  6. Delta making a strong statement here. Badger your given U.S. Representative or Senator at your own risk (future inconvenience): https://www.yahoo.com/huffpost/delta-no-fly-list-romney-graham-harassers-235459408.html These idiots are getting what they deserve. Behave badly and business will make sure they don’t condone it...
  7. Meanwhile, CNN reports that Mike Lindell is hanging out with the Twice Impeached Traitor Orange Man in the West Wing today. Seen with notes that mention “martial law.” JFC, the Head Dipschitt is even further gone than we thought. He even wants a military send-off the morning of the 20th. Autocrat much? What an effing delusional dirtbag. Abby Phillips went so far as to say, “There is no bottom for this President.” Really great way of putting it...
  8. Maybe the Russians will let the U.S. use some of their gulags for the more serious of convictions. Would serve those ignorant traitors right...
  9. JFC. So totally outrageous. All these "new" videos coming out showing the disgusting acts of violence by Orange Man's supporters. I just really, really... really... don't think people fully realize how close this country was to a completely catastrophic event on Wednesday. Had the rioters/insurgents gotten further (deeper into the Capitol), a lot of blood from Congressional Reps (and perhaps untold others) would've been spilled. A real life massacre. Think about it. Had that happened, this country would truly be in chaos right now. Inasmuch as the leadership in Capitol Hill security abjectly failed that day, the people on the ground - Capitol Police Officers, etc., including the sadly deceased (murdered) Officer Sicknick - were heroes and truly "saved the day" (country)...
  10. You know what Lou Dobbs needs (besides a better plastic surgeon)? A good SEC investigation or two. He's a Richard-head of the highest order...
  11. Is that Lesley Stahl there? If so, 60 Minutes on it (as usual)...
  12. Although I certainly don't agree with all positions of the "standard issue" Republican that you speak of, for the most part, I can at least respect them. The abortion issue is a tough one (especially for women), but as you say I think, in general, they're good, hard-working people. As to the bootlickers, I also agree that they're often dumber than a doornail. NO independent thought to speak of. Absolutely NO critical thinking skills to speak of. And common sense? GTFO of here wth that "shet." It's embarrassing to me that so many Americans are so GD simple-minded. That even now they can't see Orange Man for what he is. A con man of the WORST order. An absolutely pathetic excuse for a human being that will smile as you hand him a buck... and then push you off the nearest cliff as soon as it's expedient for him. You can't dream this shet up in movies...
  13. Lindsey Graham accosted (verbally) at the airport today. Lucky for him he had 5 DC police protecting him... I think outrage regarding this circumstance (Wednesday’s abomination in the Capitol) is a tidal wave that is going to grow to absolutely epic proportions. Timing be damned, the GOP may just vote to impeach. Then they will have to deal with the fallout with the Trumpers. But deal with it and be done with it - once and for all...
  14. I guess Orange Man’s legion followers will have to figure out a way to think for themselves. Imagine the thought...
  15. CNN reporting that FBI reporting that 11 Molotov cocktails found in truck near the Capitol. Man arrested...
  16. Dunno. They spoke of “recent tweets” and their content. Added that they said Wednesday that additional violations of Twitter Rules would potentially result in this very course of action...
  17. Twitter just PERMANENTLY suspended Orange Man. Holy effing shet...
  18. Not gonna argue than a smart person can’t be in a cult. But being smart and being able to think critically are two vastly different things. Far more often than not, those two things run hand-in-hand. But not always...
  19. Last response by to a question posed at his Economic appointment meeting with press sees President-elect Biden absolutely effing CRUSHING Ted Cruz...
  20. Duh! My bad. Was Arkansas. Thanks for the correction...
  21. CNN reporting Mr. Kicking Back on Rep Pelosi’s Desk (Richard Barnett) has been arrested in Little Rick, AK. He was charged with entering and remaining on restricted grounds, violent entry and theft of public property...
  22. Under Section 4, the VP initiates and a majority of the Cabinet (23 other members, not including the VP) can declare in writing to the Senate Pro Tempore (Chuck Grassley) and House Speaker (Nancy Pelosi) that Orange Man is unable to perform the duties of President. Assuming Orange Man pushes back, the VP and Cabinet have 4 days to then disagree. If they don’t, Orange Man resumes the presidency. If they disagree (with the President) then it’s on to Congress for a vote. Congress has 21 days to decide on the matter...
  23. Symbolic. Only 2-timer in history. His utter disgrace as “President” is set in stone...
