  1. Vanderbilt's first call should be to Kyle Smith. Absolute winner who has worked at academic schools and schools with less resources than those around him.
  2. Their OOC schedule this year was basically on par with what they've done every year under Alford. They play 3ish power conference schools including 1 on the road. They play in a very mid-tier MTE event. Then they schedule a bunch of mid-majors that they "think" are going to be decent to good. It worked last year when they had the #72ish non-conference SOS because Sam Houston, Akron, Grand Canyon etc. were all pretty good. This year it turned out that those mid-majors were not very good.
  3. I feel like the voting was pretty accurate to what this SDSU team was. 1 great player offensively and a bunch of defense. If someone else was decent offensively in conference play they wouldn't have come in 5th. New Mexico has the most talented top 8 in the conference in my opinion. With that much talent I think it's fair to say a 6 seed is underachieving.
  4. New Mexico was the only team to have 4 all conference players, + 6th man of the year and Defensive player of the year (although that should have been Tre Coleman). Shows how much they have underachieved relative to their talent.
  5. The MW is 15th in free throw rate in all conference games. The B12 is 8th and Big 10 is 11th. It's a good narrative and excuse for UNLV though
  6. UNC Chapel Hill also had a shooting this year and are absolutely a "media darling" and nobody has mentioned it on any broadcast I've seen. Michigan State had one last year right before the NCAA tournament and I don't remember it ever being talked about. Not trying to get into a political debate, but that has nothing to do with it happening at a school that isn't a "media darling" and everything to do with the USAs relationship with gun violence. Regardless something like that should not factor into the at large discussion.
  7. While what happened is incredibly sad and it is true that the team is showing resilience, that absolutely should not factor into an at-large bid discussion.
  8. Well if Hunter McIntosh never misses again Nevada will be tough to beat
  9. In the second half when Lucas was called for an offensive foul for kicking his leg out he ended up on the ground and a fan sitting courtside (45 year old man) stood up and leaned over him and was yelling in Lucas's face to the point that Lucas had to move around him to get off the ground. He should have celebrated 4x as long for all I care
  10. Then how come you can't run onto the court before the game, or at half time, or at literally any other point other than 5 seconds after a win?
  11. It should be banned. Whether you think that Caitlin Clark and Kyle Filipowski flopped a bit or not, the fact is that it should not be either of their responsibility have to dodge fans running onto the court. If someone ran onto the court in the middle of the game they'd be arrested because it is unsafe. Why is it suddenly ok for thousands of people to do it 1 second after the game ends?
  12. They called 52 fouls because there were at least 52 fouls in the game. They probably could have called 5 or 6 more. The MW is a very physical league. Older players and teams like SDSU, Nevada, Boise etc. who play at a relatively slow pace with lots of half court possessions that end in post ups and contested shots.
  13. I did not envy the refs in that game. It was so physical you could have called a foul on somebody every single play. I thought they did about the best they could honestly, absolute no win situation. KJ Hymes is one of the most frustrating players I've ever watched. You're in your 6th year and you have no idea what a foul is or not. He's so upright and plays with his arms so much offensively and his knees defensively and then is confused when he gets a foul called every single time. They've called it on you every single game this year, do something different!
  14. Rolison was really good that half. He's been playing with so much confidence. He could be pretty good
  15. the 100k views of the tweet, all the boise fans interacting with it and the fact you posted this thread means he's getting exactly what he wants. if he can back it up it will be real fun
