  1. You have it right, Philip. The conference schedule has been very favorable to Wyo to this point. Which means it will be unfavorable to the Cowboys going forward. Oh and please don't wait to start one of these again. When it comes to rank 'ems, I'm a lightweight and you da man.
  2. I certainly don't think it will be a curb stomping but I can't see the Aztecs losing today either. The game is very important to the Aztecs and Viejas Arena will be rocking.
  3. It wasn't the Nazis who burned down the Reichstag, it was the commies. Nothing like doing Hitler's dirty work for him. Has to be one of dumbest political moves in German history.
  4. Well not everyone as I didn't. That said, the Aggie player so clearly intended to punch the Liberty kid that he should be suspended for the rest of the season.
  5. https://tvline.com/news/carl-weathers-dead-cause-of-death-rocky-star-dies-1235141781/ Losing that former SDSU linebacker makes this a sad day indeed. RIP Aztec brother.
  6. In its infancy, the Nazi Party was opposed to getting chummy with big business and Hitler's personal views were ambiguous. However, as with the Wehrmacht versus the Brown Shirts, he eventually came to the conclusion that he needed to support some of society's institutions and he made friends with a number of German's largest companies who supported the Nazis as a lesser evil than the Communists. Here's a snippet of Hitler speaking at the Krupp steelworks a year or so after he became chancellor: https://www.google.com/search?q=krupp+factory+hitler+speech&rlz=1C1CHZN_enUS948US949&oq=krupp&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqDAgGEAAYQxiABBiKBTITCAAQABiDARjjAhixAxiABBifBDIQCAEQLhiDARjUAhixAxiABDIQCAIQLhiDARjUAhixAxiABDIQCAMQLhiDARjUAhixAxiABDIMCAQQABhDGIAEGIoFMgwIBRAAGEMYgAQYigUyDAgGEAAYQxiABBiKBTIHCAcQABiABDINCAgQLhivARjHARiABDIHCAkQABiABNIBCTExMTkxajBqN6gCALACAA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:693098c4,vid:FJ3N_2r6R-o,st:0 Neither of them pulled the strings as you say. They didn't need to because Hitler was hell-bound to eventually go to war and the Krupps were instrumental in creating the weapons used to do that.
  7. Other than playing golf while sitting in a cart on his ass half the time, the man gets no exercise and hasn't for years. He doesn't smoke or drink but has pounded down Big Macs for a large percentage of his meals. An AF vet business associate and casual friend of mine unexpectedly passed away half a dozen years ago. Died of a heart attack on a flight from SD to Sacramento. We had occasionally worked together many times over the prior 20 years and like Trump, he never smoked and was just a casual drinker. The guy was never close to obese. However, I literally never saw Ron eat a salad. It was always eggs and bacon for breakfast, burgers and fries for lunch and steak for dinner.
  8. The first thing is a big nothingburder. The guy was pissed off being there. So what? As for the second point, speculation is that Mr. Grumpy has "only" about $400 million in cash. All the rest of his wealth is in assets in the form of buildings which can't be sold quickly except by taking just a fraction of their appraised value. With all the evidence of how he has swindled lending institutions, it's reported he has been having a yuge problem getting loans these days. Accordingly, if friends of the Griftiest of All Time stop paying his legal bills, he could be in deep caca by the time he's re-elected President (haha).
  9. I think it was Beeno Cook who said a dozen or so years ago that Northwestern would pull out all stops to keep Stanford from being admitted to the B1G. His rationale made complete sense: It's that the two schools are virtual clones and recruit the same kinds of kids and NW already has enough trouble getting talented athletes to qualify without having to battle Stanford for them. That's among the reasons why I think that once the ACC loses FSU, Clemson, UNC and probably UVA that Stanford will look to return their Olys to the West to either a re-formed Pac or to the WCC while maybe going independent for football.
  10. That's just the thing. Teamsters local unions in California are unlikely to support Trump but the international union has supported GOP candidates more often than they've supported Democrats because the members of so many locals in other states are rednecks. If IATSE has ever backed a Republican candidate it's news to me. As for your final comment, whether union members or not, rednecks tend to ignorantly view all self-described "liberals" as communists.
  11. I hadn't seen that. Many thanks. SDSU softball has finally reached a level that it should have reached long ago. Now it only Aztecs baseball could stop its near-annual underachievement.
  12. Northwestern may be a virtual shoe-in to get to the NCAAs this year but NW has won just two NCAA tournament games in its history and one of those wins was over Boise State. A tournament run, they won't be making.
  13. Shit, you're right. My bad. When rumors were flying around that SDSU could be headed to the Pac, I religiously followed all of those guys. However, I stopped reading them on August 5.
  14. That and (1) a quality staff which can scheme and make good in-game adjustments and (2) luck. Regarding point (2), SDSU beat Alabama last March on the heels of a budding scandal regarding the Tide's freshman standout amd Darrion Trammell, a streak shooter, get hot when it was really needed. Regarding point (1), SDSU's staff isn't elite but isn't too far from elite. As for the NCAAs, at this point in time my guess is the MWC will get 4-5 teams in, two of which will win a single game and the other two will be one and done.
  15. Swain is definitely an oddball and I wouldn't trust most of what he says. However, the guy appeared to at least once have had a source within the University of Minnesota who got him very good inside info about the B1G.
  16. Get back to me on this after my 49ers high has worn off.
  17. Habba supposedly met Trump after she and her husband became members of the Trump National Golf Club in Jersey. Regardless of the price of membership, as of three months ago, the Habbas were supposedly in considerable debt: https://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/donald-trumps-lawyer-alina-habba-wears-fjb-necklace/ As for the threat of sanctions against the woman, "Lock her up!"

  19. I didn't bother reading what Convert said but the photo was worth a thumbs up.
  20. I can't disagree. However, the fact you needed to so explain speaks volumes about how few people are aware of the overrated status of land grant universities and a conference as desperate for national recognition as THE Mountain West needs all the help it can get even if said help is largely bogus.
  21. Apologies to UNM for having them below USU to start this thread. I'll never diss the Lobos like that again. Boise, which has never won a single NCAA tournament game, has a slight chance to get to the Final Four but Nevada doesn't?
  22. I'd leave Texas because of the politics. Nothing enhances the chances of another Civil War more than a state government defying not just the federal executive branch but also SCOTUS and Texas is headed in that direction.
  23. Here are the current standings: https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/standings/conference/MWC/ Tier !: Utah State - I've become a believer Ter 2: Boise, New Mexico, SDSU - They're simply in alpha order but I'm becoming concerned about the Aztecs as opponents are finding ways to really slow LeDee down offensively and it's debatable whether others can be successful enough from distance to make up the difference Tier 3: CSU and UNR - Rams' biggest game of the year to this point is Tuesday hosting SDSU; a loss would be their third consecutive and put a team once in the top 10 outside the top 25; Blackshear and Lucas are great, the others are not Tier 4: UNLV: - Nobody in the conference is more athletic but can you say erratic? Tier 5: Wyoming - Cowboys are 11-2 at home and 0-7 on the road but it has absolutely nothing to do with altitude Tier 6: Air Force, Fresno and San Jose in whatever order
