  7. The ONLY thing about this that came as a surprise to me was learning that USA Today still exists. I thought that waste of ink and paper went out of business more than a decade ago.
  8. I laughed out loud when they got to Boise and said it was a very affordable place to live. Clearly whoever put this together hasn't kept up with the price of the average home in Boise in the last few years, etc.
  9. FASTPITCH NEWS features San Diego State and Boise State head softball coaches in a podcast here: https://fastpitchnews.com/podcasts/climbing-up-the-mountain-west/370189 The interview of the San Diego State head coach was pretty lengthy and lasted almost 70 (of nearly 1 hour and 50 minutes) and the interview of Boise State's head coach lasted less than 39 minutes. In his interview Boise State's head softball coach mentioned two newcomers to the team who impressed him in former San Jose State player Karizma Bergesen and true freshman Sophia Knight. He also mentioned Hutchins, Flores, Hanna and Bumcrot as the top returning starters. He also mentioned that he has been and continues to push for Blue Turf to be installed on the Boise State softball field.
  10. Boise State has started their Softball practices: https://www.facebook.com/boisestatesoftball/
  11. Chubba Purdy BTW flipped his commitment from San Jose State to Nevada yesterday. Probably as a result of San Jose State's head coach leaving for Arizona. Purdy committed to SJS on the 14th of January - Brennan took the Arizona job only days later - and then on the 22nd of January Purdy switches to Nevada. So he goes from one of the three best teams in the MWC last season to the very worst team in the MWC last season.
  12. I love how some people rush to judgement on cases like this when they literally know nothing about the facts of the case. It's sad that the concept of INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY is beyond their comprehension.
  13. Whatever helps you sleep at night in the fantasy world where you obviously live. Boise State defeated San Diego State yesterday in men's basketball and there was no "we" involved. The only people responsible for that win were the players and coaches of the Boise State basketball team. I'll let you get back to your pathetic delusional state - where you choose to reside.
  14. The Packers gave SF all they wanted and more. It's too bad that Green Bay didn't replace that gawd-awful placekicker mid-way thru the season and get a kicker who - AT THE VERY LEAST - could make 95 percent of the extra-points (minimum). Instead they stuck with a guy who ended up missing six extra points this season. If that awful excuse for a kicker had made that 41 yard FG in the 2nd half that game yesterday goes to overtime. Instead he misses what should be a chip-shot for an NFL kicker and the Packers lose by 3 points. Carlson (the PK) made only 81 percent of his FG attempts this season and that is atrocious for an NFL kicker. Why they didn't replace him is beyond me. The good news is this year's team damn near made it to the NFC championship game as the 7th seed and they were/are literally the youngest team in the NFL.
  15. Apparently Rocky never heard of rotating players every three or four downs on defense. It's been all the rage for something like 30 years now. Maybe longer.
  16. The first 25 percent of the 2nd half of that game was like it was a contest to see which of the two teams could NOT make a basket. I think both teams made ONE basket each in more than 4 minutes to start the 2nd half yesterday.
  17. Seems like a good hire to me but then again I thought Boise State hiring Andy Avalos was a good hire at that time.
  18. Must be awful for you.......having your team lose virtually every time (except one come from behind "win" via a MIRACLE) to a University that you moronically refer to as a J.C. So, what you are admitting here is your school's football team loses nearly every year to a Junior College? That IS what you are saying............whether you comprehend it or not. That's not only awful but also awfully PATHETIC. I'm glad Boise State doesn't lose any football games to Junior College and doubly glad they don't lose nearly EVERY YEAR to a Junior College team. Remind me again - what is Colorado State's record against Boise State UNIVERSITY in football?
  19. Feel free to count them for yourself. The current Boise State roster has everyone listed including Carde (who has entered the NFL draft) and Jaylen Clark (who was arrested and is indefinitely suspended from the team) among others including all the incoming freshmen and J.C. guys who won't be on the team till next August (when they absolutely should NOT be on the roster currently).
  20. Exactly 21 days (3 weeks) from TODAY...........first softball games for Mountain West softball teams on Feb. 8th.
  21. That's how many I counted on this Boise State 2024 football roster: https://broncosports.com/sports/football/roster Ten of them - I believe - are 8 incoming true freshmen and two J.C. transfers all of whom won't be at Boise State till next summer. The other scholarship player (accounting for the 11 over the 85 scholarship limit) is likely 6' 8" offensive lineman Ethan Carde who - as I read at least a week ago - has incredulously declared for the NFL draft. That number of 96 also includes Jaylen Clark who was arrested and charged with two felonies and two misdemeanors last week or so. Clark was immediately - of course - suspended from the team. You know...........guility until you prove your innocence. But with 10 players joining the team next summer - and a current count of 84 or 85 scholarship players - Boise State is going to have to say goodbye to 9 or 10 scholarship players between now and next August (depending on what happens in the Jaylen Clark situation).
  22. You make excellent points here. Your comment about what most NFL teams do with their newly drafted and VERY highly paid quarterbacks reminds me of what happened to Zach Wilson (not a fan of his - just to make it clear). He has been thrown to the wolves so to speak and the JETS deserve their present condition as a result. His first year NFL quarterback rating was 69.7 with a 55% completion rate. All because the Jets do NOT follow the same plan as the Packers. So their plan is throw their very highly paid QB to the wolves and when that fails pay an enormous sum of money to an EX-Green Bay Packers QB who then immediately gets injured.
  23. It's not pretty when one of those "Saints" gets all wacked-out on Coca-Cola.
  24. Boise State plays @ San Jose State this fall I believe. Should be interesting to see Boise State with Malachi Nelson as their QB and San Jose State with Chubba Purdy as their QB.
  25. Travis was something incredible - as a football player/kick returner. I've never seen anyone as good as he was at returning kicks except MAYBE Deion Sanders. Truly special. His life after football and early death was heart-breaking. I think he was part of the reason why the NFL players association insisted on the NFL setting up an organization to help out ex-NFL players who had fallen on hard times.
