  1. The way I see it. SMU has a strong football and basketball program right now. If they get into the Big 12, it might make them stronger. The Dallas fan base might even get interested I. A Big 12 SMU team amd Dallas is a large city. Let’s say Boise State gets in… IMO I think a Boise has tapped their potential.. they may improve in recruiting but their fan base will barely increase and the TV market isn’t impressive… not knocking on the program. As for SDSU, strong athletic program, huge TV market.. but you guys are 4-0 right now, when I watches the Utah game, the stadium was empty ( I shouldn’t talk shit as a UH fan because our fan base is crap) but for you guys who’s always competitive. I would think your home games regardless of LA or in San Diego would have a bigger fan base. Aside from the MWC TV Contract, the MWC conference as a whole is heading in the right directive as far as competitiveness is and we’re only getting better. All the stadiums are being renovated or being built, the facilties are improving. The MWC is catching up with the big boys. Maybe not SEC/Big10. But the other conferences aren’t that far ahead anymore. that’s my take… but I think SMU has a shot. I think having more Texas schools in the Big12 is better. Having a East to West coast conference is hard. Would I be surprised in SDSU or Boise get invited? No MWC should go after North Texas and UTSA for football only.
  2. Big12 should just take Utah, Boise, Colorado and Memphis. 16 team conference. Then the Pac12 can take Hawaii, FSU, SDSU, Nevada. im messin, Hawaii is &$cked regardless.
  3. SMU program starting to get consistent, Memphis is Memphis. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Big 12 takes SMU and Memphis. That will obliterate the AAC.
  4. I’m not familiar with the TV contracts and how all the financials work. But it makes sense to me to send two of our teams east. Make a 20 team league, have each side play a round robin and maybe 1 cross conference game. I would think that championship game would end up being the NY6 rep or future playoff bid. Another thing, I’m aware Hawaii is 2,000 miles away from the nearest coastline and I’m also aware our basketball program is trying to build its self back up again, but we used to be quite successful. Our Olympic sports program is actually pretty strong. Would it be possible to bring in Hawaii as a full member as long as we’re paying the subsidies that we are now paying in The Big West? MWC can only make the Hawaii programs stronger and I think we could actually contribute to the conference if we were full members.
  5. I would love to see Air Force leave with the low cut block triple option.
  6. So what your saying is, if the Hawaii Athletic Program gets their shit together there’s a possibility for a Pac invite if these schools bolt. Probably the best research school in the MWC. Bigger TV market than UNR and maybe Fresno, and we can tap into the pacific and Asia.
  7. I wouldn’t be opposed to have a Big West football conference. San Diego State, Boise, Utah State, hawaii, SJSU, Fresno, UNLV, Nevada, and UC Davis. SDSU and Boise would probably bounce sooner or later. But for now, that’s a decent conference with a heavy west coast presence. UC Irvine, UCSB.. sometimes Hawaii, SDSU, Utah State, UNLV all provide a basketball punch. I think it would work. If BSU and SDSU do leave, we can try grab Weber State and Montana.
  8. The way I see it, if AFA and CSU do leave. Boise and SDSU are probably gone soon. The most logical thing would to destroy the conference, Thompson let it die. West coast schools should form their own conference, or join the Big West. Football Conference will have Hawaii, SJSU, Fresno, Nevada, UNLV, UC Davis and will probably add a few west coast/mountain teams somehow. Utah State can join if they decide to do so.
  9. Dude I has the same Idea for the western schools. It makes too much sense
