  1. Trump was the same way before he ran for president. There are a lot of politicians that think like Trump, but won’t say what they are thinking. He doesn’t have a filter. He tells you exactly what is on his mind. He is not a phony like many politicians that say one thing in public and something else in private.
  2. It’s more likely they will be camped out on him.
  3. Yeah Fords accusations have really ruined her life. Nothing in it for her. Already $1M in gofundme donations and $30,000-50,000 speaking fees looming. She has already cashed in.
  4. Well so far no former high school class mates have come forward and said they had sex with him.
  5. Not sure the Republicans demanded Ford testify. I believe they invited her and said they would listen if she did. If she didn’t testify, Kavanaugh would be the newest Supreme Court Justice right now. The pos is Feinstein who sat on the accusation until the last few days.
  6. Fresno is tearing Toledo a new asshole. Their speed at WR is killing Toledo.
  7. Wyoming’s offense is one of the most conservative in college football. There is very little variation in what they do. Run the ball and rollout passes to the TE pretty much summarizes it. I think it is a big part of Bohls philosophy. Take few risks and take care of the ball on offense and try and get turnovers with a strong defense.
  8. One week should be more than adequate to interview Ford and any witnesses. Note the FBI has offices in every major city. A few more days would not bother me. However, a Mueller type investigation that goes on for weeks, months, and years is obviously more delaying tactics.
  9. I think it is a rational request to have the FBI further investigate Fords allegation which is the only somewhat plausible allegation to date. However, if other unfounded or nefarious allegations come forth especially from Avennetti, they should be ignored. Further delays should also be ignored.
  10. The Euros take this event far more serious than we do. Most of our guys look like they don’t even want to be there. I believe we haven’t won over there in 25 years. We are already behind 5-3.
  11. It’s my alter ego coming out. Having gone thru high school and college in the sixties I witnessed a lot of craziness. College presidents office taken over and burned out, mass arrests at protests, tear gas in the air, etc. There were some good changes that came out of it. What really is funny is my high school political science teacher in the early sixties was always lamenting that we young people were too politically apathetic. Little did she know what was coming.
  12. They may laugh at Trump but when push comes to shove who do you think they ask will ask for help first? Who is giving many of these countries foreign aid? When there are disasters and epidemics in foreign countries, who is the country that steps up and provides the most help? Who is the most giving and charitable country in the world? Who is protecting many of these countries with limited militaries? Those laughs would turn to cries should we ever turn our back on them.
  13. People, particularly young people are always challenging the norms. Sometimes good changes come from it, and other times it becomes understood why we have done things a certain way and reverts back to the norm. I think this is just another phase of that.
  14. IMO we are a more violent culture. We are also a culture with the most freedom. Not sure of the stats, but it’s highly likely we have the most guns. Combine those three and you have your answer. With that answer, what is the solution? Rounding up everyone’s gun is a non starter. Not going to happen. IMO gun control laws are ineffective for the most part. Most laws aren’t even enforced, or are not strict enough for criminals. I still say you need to concentrate on the area where the most deaths occur. First is likely suicides which means we need to focus more on mental health. Again I don’t know the stats, but my guess is gang bangers commit the most shootings as a group. That is a problem that can be minimized with local, state, and federal intervention. I have my doubts that much can be done about mass shootings except at schools where better security would help reduce those instances.
  15. Mass shootings are extremely difficult to prevent because they are random. Just about every mass shooting other than a terrorist has been by a person that has mental issues. In some cases there have been red flag warnings by the person prior to the shootings that have not been heeded. We need to give a higher priority to mental health treatment and threats by unstable people. People with a unstable mental health history should definitely not be allowed to buy guns. Even then mass shootings are almost impossible to stop. Personally I don’t own a gun. In an ideal world guns would not be necessary. Given the world we live in people have the right to own a gun(s) to protect themselves and their family and for hunting/sport reasons. I don’t see a place for semiautomatic weapons, but also don’t see the right to outlaw them under the second amendment. I also believe any gun purchased or ownership transfer should require a background check. Limiting magazines to a maximum of ten rounds appears reasonable. Regardless of those gun restrictions, other than selling to mentally unstable people, I highly doubt it will have any impact on gun related shootings. As mentioned previously, the largest amount of shootings are by gang bangers. That is where action needs to be taken to minimize gun related deaths. For whatever reason, the left ignores that issue.
  16. If you try to limit the number and types of guns, the industry will just go underground. Criminals and gang bangers are always going to have guns no matter how many laws are enacted. In any regard I believe the number of deaths by guns per capita has been on the decline for a long time. And most of these deaths are in the inner cities from gang activity. If we want to minimize gun deaths that is where we need to concentrate our effort.
  17. Even Moses didn’t strip off his shirt after parting the waters.
  18. Most presidents appoint many friends and loyalists.
  19. Glad to see we are in the mix. The good thing going for us is all three of our posts graduate this year, meaning the position is wide open to play right away. At least that would be my pitch if I were Rice.
  20. California was a great place to grow up in the 50’s excluding the air pollution. Unfortunately it was invaded by the midwest and easterners. I remember Malibu and Venice being cozy little beach towns without the money and pretense you see today. I spent a lot of summers at Manhattan Beach with friends which was a several mile bike ride from home. Too bad you can’t turn back the clock before the crowds and money invaded.
  21. Beautiful state, but these are just a couple of the reasons I left long ago. https://goo.gl/images/fVgVZs https://goo.gl/images/tH8H9T
  22. It sounds like we all should move there. What’s their immigration policy?
