  2. I think the right wingers are a bit spooky, but passing panic legislation like that will only lead to it being weaponized by whomever else takes the reins of power. You’ve got social media with real-time receipts…who needs more govt intrusion into the lives of Americans?

And you guys on the left give people on the right so much crap for being so obsessed with Clinton’s, Obama’s and Biden’s......Okie Dokie.

I’m def not a Republican, conservative, or whatever they’re calling themselves these days…but I’m definitely not “on the left” either. I hate taxes, financial regulations, and using religion to justify political decisions..I love guns, and am pro choice, pro gay marriage/lgbtq, pro drug legalization…dunno what that makes me.

Clinton was my favorite President…to me, this was one of my favorite SNL sketches of all time:

    WTF?

On an episode of “That’s My Bush”, Dick Cheney gets W fired and becomes President. George moves “on down”, getting fired at every other job he’s in, which is the Cheers bar and a few others. Cheney pisses everyone off as president.

Great episode of a really underrated show.

Saw someone talking last night how the Russian effort in Afghanistan Dec 1979 to Feb 1989 might have been a preview of the lack of (then Soviet) Russia's overall military capabilities outside their nuke arsenal (if that even is in working order anymore)

Afghanistan isn't an easy place to go in and take over, but the USSR flailed away for 9+ years with zero gain & lots of losses --- then the entire USSR collapsed ?!?!

They haven’t fought a real war since WW2

You go to Metro in Denver?

2012 was my last time there. Old friend lived just north of Colfax and a ways east of City Park along one of those tree island parkways. He moved to a downtown condo a couple years later.  We had dinner at some restaurant on Colfax, or a half block off, that touted its boutique cocktails.

I went there for a Guns N Roses show a few years back

How was CA ever the green state?  They enacted coastal laws, but the entire history seems to be predicated on +++++ing up the environment for the sake of water, or shit happening on National Forest land.  You want to talk a green state, I would go with Maine, Vermont, Montana.  Definitely not Idaho, but maybe Oregon?

Not Montana. There’s more Superfund sites in that state than you can shake a stick at. They’ve made a living off being boned by out of state corps.

If we are smart, we are trying to Make Chechnya Great Again right now and have our spooks spending lots of time in the Caucasus. Becoming best buds with Kazakhstan would be a good idea too.

Shit, just go get them out of Idlib in Syria. Send them all up to Russia on green buses.

Germany pivots away from Russian oil and gas with deal with Qatari

With the US oil giants leaving Russia and more contracts drying up Putin has really screwed up the Russian Economy.

If we really got a wild hair up our ass, and really wanted to shut out Russia..we'd mend fences with Syria. It holds the key in a few different aspects. We almost had a peace deal with them in the 2000s, so if we dangled a bunch of money in front of them, we might have something; not to mention, we'd always been "under the table" allies with them, using them to rendition our prisoners in Iraq, and getting support from them in Gulf War I.

First though, we'd have to come up to some sort of "two state solution" between Israel and Palestine, and force meaningful concessions on both sides, not some window dressing bullshit that we've been accustomed to seeing over the decades.

We could take our intelligence services up to NW Idlib, and round up all of the jihadis, and give them tickets to Russia to go wreak some havoc. There's a shit ton of Chechens and the like up there that would only be too happy to go on a suicide mission of their own on their home turf. After that's been cleansed out, we could then give back Idlib to Assad, as the "refugee" crisis would have been averted.

Then, we promote a re-unification of Syria. We force concessions on the Kurds and Assad, and bring the NE parts of Syria back into the fold of the SAR. This pacifies the Turks, owing back to that old treaty they had back in the 90s with Old Man Assad.

Not only that, but instead of sanctioning Assad, we just invest in the country and make them beholden to us, but really rebuild it up to make it a shining beacon on the hill in the Middle East. Force some reforms in exchange for our services, a lot of which had already been considered and implemented on the outset of the Arab Spring in 2011. Most of all, force them to push the Russians out of Tartus, though that might be easier said than done. Money does make people do strange things, though.

After that, build a pipeline from Qatar, through Syria, and up through Turkey that supplies all of Europe with natural gas. As an alternative, as part of a nuclear deal with Iran, we could also add their crude and natural gas to the marketplace, and obligate them to supply Europe with a huge amount of natural gas and oil, which would benefit everyone.

A lot of this is wishful thinking, perhaps...but we're the world's sole superpower, and we could really constrain Russia and even China through some money maneuvering. Rather than have hostilities with these countries such as Syria and Iran, we'd be better off making them trading partners and seeking an alliance through economic prosperity.

My only reason for posting was calling for peace.   We can agree to disagree, but I don't appreciate the doxing people's location if you disagree .

I don't pretend to know the answer in Ukraine.  I just wanted to speak out and try and figure out a path of peace.  I am sick over the suffering there and the needless war by Russian agressors and mad man Putin.

If it was bad ideas or offended anyone I am sorry.

I've lurked here for a long time and only posted after the PAC12 board died,

    OK. sorry.
