Top 100 player in class of 2018...violated team rules and dismissed from team. Does this mean he’ll be eligible at this point next season?

That’s a mid year transfer so yes unless a waiver is granted. Very solid pick up though, Boise will be very good team next season with all these guys eligible

Harris is supposedly a sight to see. If Drew doesn’t play this year and Jordan Brown stays, which are both likely, we’ll be just fine.

He’s extremely athletic and can get to the rack, however is shooting from deep is below par right now. That’s what he is working on this redshirt year, with improvement he’ll be a star next year.

    Howler please.

You guys were nothing more than the biggest conference tournament semifinal win for us - nothing more. That we happened to posterize your entire program so bad the butthurt won't fade until long after Muss has retired was just gravy.

We've been destroying quality P5 programs for years. Funny how Reno has one good year tho and suddenly you've got the hype of Duke's MBB program and THE OSU's football program's lovechild.

    #NewMoney

Since both programs weren’t relative before the turn of the century. Let’s break it down from there.

Tourney appearances: Nevada 6, SDSU 9 (nice) (both more then New Mexico 5, UNLV at 7)

Toueney wins: Nevada 6, SDSU 6 (tied for most in MWC)

    Sweet 16s: Nevada 2, SDSU 2 (New Mexico 0, UNLV 1)

So If Nevada is #NewMoney then so is SDSU. Nevada and SDSU are the class of the MW and have about an equal history in basketball.

Not a fan of the transfer recruiting.  He could easily have a bad spring recruiting.  Also, he needs guys who can play immediately next year, as that roster isn’t that intimidating.

Transfer recruiting has led to a tourney berth, a sweet 16 and now a top 10 ranking. I love transfer recruiting (so did Tark)

I’m not a fan of UNLVs recruiting and losing to a bad wcc team, it’s so so marvelous.

  5. I will say Nisre, Henson (two new transfer guards shot 1-10) and the Martins didn’t look great to me. Now credit a lot of that to UW their zone along with Syracuse obviously are the two best in the country. Nevada might see a lot of zone this year but they won’t see one that good rest of the year.

Muss was obviously over the top, but I wouldn’t be shocked if he did shorten bench to 7.5 guys against BYU. Porter only played 11 minutes and when he was in the game they shredded their Zone and actually went up 9 in the first half.

Lastly I will say Muss hates zone himself but this team with length at all 5 spots would actually be pretty good defensively in the zone imo

  6. I’m glad they got blown out in the 2nd half. Humble pie.

Muss messed around a lot with subs and a couple of the new guys, Henson/Nisre, in particular were bad. Martins were bad too actually.

With that said the starting 5 played really well imo, we just didn’t see it much. Porter only  played 11 minutes and I guess that was enough for Muss.

Wasn’t predicting where we will end up.  I understand we have to make it through a long season.  With that said, this is likely the most talented team Nevada will ever have and I’m enjoying the ride.

If Nevada can keep Muss (a very big if) it’s quite possible this won’t be the most talented team we ever see. With that said it’s extremly difficult to have this many talented seniors on the same team. You have to guys that are just on the fringe of the NBA but not guaranteed to make it so they comeback.

With Caleb Martin specifically Nevada fans can actually thank Colorado st for him coming back. The main reason he came back instead is staying in the draft was his foot injury (at CSU) he realized that if he stayed in the draft regardless if he was actually drafted he’d immediately be going to summer league, then camp, then preseason etc. All while being a fringe guy needing to make the team. Thus no resting his foot. After opting out of draft he basically didn’t practice all of June/July, boot came off last week of summer practice fully healthy.

    Cant wait.

I used to run that site but gave it up a long time ago.  It hasn’t been very active for awhile.

It definitely is up and down on how active it is since you gave it up but it was very active this week and the premium side is up and down too

I doubt he picks San Diego State. His brother probably leaves after this year.

I’d be shocked if he didn’t pick SDSU, The main McDainels trainers is Clint Parks and he is a massive SDSU homer. He’ll steer him to SDSU.

  10. Thought the Mark Fox talk on the Lair board was interesting (he's from Eastern Mexico) he's had such a nice gig at Georgia with no real expectations, been able to have nearly a decade at a power 5 with mediocre results.

The expectations at New Mexico would be much higher, not sure they'd be happy with the hire. Although I will say anyone other than noodles is better and Fox is a very intense coach maybe they need that.
