  1. So WSU is losing their coach and is not historically a strong basketball program. OSU is horrible. maybe they get 3 Also, everyone needs to calm down. What is all this hate for the MWC? Should have had 4 wins but Nevada gave that game away. A chance for the MWC to win two more games today. why isn’t there all this hate for the SEC that got more teams than the MWC but has had similar outcomes with better seeds? MWC will be strong again next year and be the strongest regional league in the west coast for MBB.
  2. It depends. The AAC/CUSA ESPN+ broadcasts are not great. If ESPN is producing them they are good, but a lot of ESPN+ broadcasts are produced by the schools and the production value is lacking.
  3. PAC-2 has a two-year waiver right now to stay a conference. That includes the number of teams in the league and sports being sponsored. The grace period allows the PAC-2 to be affiliated members for Olympic sports in other leagues during this grace period. https://www.sportskeeda.com/college-football/news-2-pac-12-teams-get-grace-period-summer-2026-hopes-reviving-soon-to-be-late-power-five-conference
  4. No I disagree with that. I think they will join the MWC as a member for the Olympics where they can (MWC doesn't offer everything OSU and WSU participate in) and keep the PAC-2 together for football until the legal battles are resolved. This will lead to a reverse merger of the MWC teams into the PAC-14 in the 2025 football season.
  5. Per Jon Rothstein. OSU and WSU in talks with MWC to Join in basketball for 2024. https://x.com/JonRothstein/status/1735336336846901563?s=20 https://collegehoops.today/rothstein-files/mountain-west-in-discussions-with-both-oregon-state-and-washington-state-to-join-league-for-2024-25-basketball-season/
  6. Ok, this is incorrect. The 100 number refers to the number of FBS teams they think would move to the new sub-division. The NCAA proposal would be a minimum of $6M per school for NIL disbursement.
  7. What are you talking about? He went after Army after he couldn't convince WSU and OSU to join the AAC.
  8. The MWC will not exist in 10 months. Current MWC members will all be wearing the Pac 12/14 name tags on their jerseys this time next year.
  9. The Big 12 is done unless the ACC implodes and they can grab 2 teams on the East Coast. If the Big 12 wanted to expand past 16 OSU would be in the Big 12. Contractually ESPN is only obligated to do a pro-rata up to 16 teams. They do not need to expand with MWC teams now.

  11. Really? I think he has done a pretty good job. He was talking about the "4 corner schools" before the big national reports did. He was also one of the first to report that the OSU/WSU would not be going to the AAC. He seems to have strong ESPN and PAC sources.
  12. It looks like the traction is to keep with PAC brand and merge the MWC teams. This is complicated as the assets for OSU/WSU and MWC assets need to be accounted for correctly and distributed. https://twitter.com/TheMontyShow/status/1699799779444920520?s=20
  13. Something to think about right now is that the PAC has A5 status. That can only be taken away with a 3-4 vote of the remaining A5 (ACC, Big12, Big 10, SEC). If I am the ACC and the Big12 I do not want A5 to become A4 because now the SEC and Big 10 can stonewall everything and it gives them more power. A PAC 14 (with MWC schools) would have interest in not letting the Big 10 and SEC become too powerful and that would be beneficial for Big 12 and ACC.
  14. If I am the Big12 and ACC I want to keep the A5 at A5 if possible. If it goes to A4 than the SEC and Big10 can roadblock everything. It is is the interest of the lesser A5 conferences to keep a majority in the voting.
