  8. UPDATE: Im headed to Dayton to see CSU-Virginia. I found a nonstop flight from Denver to Cincinnati which is an hours drive from Dayton. If CSU wins, I’ll have to figure out how to get to Charlotte. If they lose, maybe I’ll stay an extra day and see Boise State-Colorado before I head home.

  11. Hi gang, just checking in. I've been running a COVID testing clinic a few days a week, which is not very fun. We are gowned and have PPE, but you still sit around and worry about it knowing you've been exposed to the illness. This is a serious illness. I hope people are treating it as such. Stay home unless you absolutely need to go out. Wash wash wash. I've seen some bad stuff with this. I've had a guy I tested die in like 72h after he was tested. Most positives I've tested have ended up in the hospital, fortunately I don't have to run the testing clinic every day, only here and there. Majority of ill will recover. It can kill you fast if your body goes that direction, take care of yourself if you have diabetes, heart disease, autoimmune conditions, or COPD. Stop smoking after all this is over if you do that. It's still a nasty, terrible illness that you don't want, and you can be asymptomatic for several days before showing symptoms. My life right now is sit at home and hope I don't get sick and go to work. Hopefully this all calms down soon and we can get back to our normal lives. Also, the Chinese government is a bunch of liars and we should get any manufacturing operation out of China and move it anywhere else. They can eat the biggest bag of dicks.

  13. Friends, Rebels, peasants, lend me your ears! I have returned from the egotistical display from the moderator menace. Well, well, well @halfmanhalfbronco I assume you've learned your lesson and that this timeout you gave yourself from my posts has given you some time to reflect on your many mistakes. I'm sure you've delved into the hypocrisy that only you're allowed to use naughty boo boo words with a historical context to be a slur but can also be used to insult certain posters for being stupid and annoying. (As seen parodied on SouthPark--R-word or F-word)---but not me?! But the injustice of incarceration has taught me humility and patience--so I will let this pass with a warning. But be forewarned---my vengeance will be swift and merciless if you cross me again! Last but certainly not least, I would like to thank all of my loyal vassals @SharkTanked, @Rosegreen , @ph90702 , @quickdraw for advocating for their Imperator's return--- Their call to arms against tyranny nearly brought a tear mine eye--I've trained you all well. For the rest of you, please commence your cheers and adoration for my return

  14. The big boys think the 32-team super division sounds great until they figure out somebody has to be the Panthers and the Jets. A few 2-10 or 3-9 seasons at Penn State or Florida or some other place that's used to winning, or two 9-3 teams playing for the national title, and the bloom comes off the rose. If I'm one of the other 100 current FBS teams, I don't play them for anything less than $3 million a game.

  18. ISU fan checking in. I am looking forward to a good game on Thursday. While it appears that some think ISU is overlooking Nevada, that couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, many of us completely understand the type of team that Nevada is considering we ran a similar style when we had Coach Hoiberg. From my understanding, Nevada is an explosive offensive team with the ability to hit many threes. They are never really out of a game and when they go on a streak you better look out. It sounds very similar to the 2014 ISU team. Explosive offensive team with some defensive liabilities. This is not the most talented ISU team we have seen in recent years. But it is the most focused team and best coached team we have had in recent years. The guys are locked in winning 10 of their last 12. The big changes started to occur when Freshman Solomon Young started to get a feel for the pace of the game and competition he was seeing. In games that he plays 15 or more minutes ISU is 14-1. ISU is a senior laden team with three guards that can and do fire the three often. Monte Morris is arguably the best PG in the nation, one of the all-time greats to come through our program and a tremendous floor general boasting a 5.71 assist to turn over ratio. He rarely turns it over, while also finding his teammates in space. Nazareth Mitrou-Long is a 5th year senior that is best described as the heart and soul of the team. He is a great shooter, but has developed an ability to slash to the rim this year. Matt Thomas likes to catch and shoot. He is your typical shooter and was one of our best defenders, however, bone spurs this year have affected his ability to defend as his lateral movement has slowed down since he developed this problem. Deonte Burton is a mismatch nightmare. 6'5 250 lbs and an explosive player. He can shoot the three, with his size if a big plays up on him he is gonna drive by him. If he plays back he is gonna shoot. If a guard plays him he will bully him to the basket. Solomon Young is a freshman and while he isn't going to score a lot, he is a legitimate post presence that ISU has lacked. He will not do anything flashy, but does a wonderful job of putting a body on a man, boxing out, grabbing rebounds, affecting shots, and tipping the ball back in. I like Iowa State's chances. We play a very similar style of ball, but ISU is a better defensive team. We struggle with rebounding and post defense, but on ball defense is great. But we aren't living under any illusions. ISU can and will be beat if we are not focused, playing our game, or overlook this team. While yes it is close to Ames, it is also a distraction concern with 3 or 4 of our players hailing from Milwaukee. Finally, I apologize for any homer fan interactions. Every fanbase has them, as evidenced by your board's success at hitting nearly every stereotype in the book. I look forward to a good game and some good dialogue leading up to the game.

  22. It's whatever for me. If Wyoming makes the new PAC 12 fine. Can't say I would be too pumped about Tulane, Memphis, SMU or schools like that. Could give a shit less about the PAC 4. I would want the whole MW to go but I'm sure some schools would get dropped for AAC schools I like the current MW personally. I'd rather stand pat. If Wyoming is left behind. Bring on the Montanas and whomever else. Yeah it will be different but I'll still watch Wyoming football. College football isn't what it used to be for me anyway. This won't be the last of the big changes either. If players become employees that will also be a seismic change to the sport. This fighting over scraps is old. I just want to watch football games against regional schools and rivals.

  23. Y'all are overthinking this. This is a one-year agreement to buy some time for WSU and OSU to finish up their legal issues and play a schedule. Will there be shenanigans? Sure, but this legal contract won't be a part of it. What it may do is make the MWC more palatable to OSU and Wazoo's fan bases. It might also make them more unattractive to P5's if we clock them a time or two. Both schools look like they're going to hemorrage players through the Portal. A similar agreement in hoops would be really interesting.

  24. Update on my condition. Today is the best I’ve felt since this episode started. Still not 100%. My appetite sucks but I’m working on that. My saving grace was the fact that I’ve kept myself in pretty good shape in the 14 years since I retired from the Marine Corps. Had I not. I think things may have turned out very differently. This thing kicked my ass and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I’m very happy to be back talking to you guys. Two of the guys I work with weren’t so lucky. They passed away from Covid last week. Both were retired Marines, both in their mid 50’s. The difference between them and me was I stayed in shape and I don’t have any underlying conditions. This has made me realize my mortality for the first time since I was 18. Since then I’ve been told I was ten feet tall and bulletproof and one of the baddest mofos to walk the planet. I drank that kool-aid hard. Now not so much. Please say a prayer for my friends and their families. In memory of, MSgt Roberto Hinojosa USMC Ret GySgt Bruce Eisert USMC Ret

  28. I also wanted to say something about Dayton and the First Four games. They are amazing hosts. From ther minute I arrived this afternoon,, everybody was interested to talk about the games. Asking who i was here to see, where i was from. And the feel at the arena is much more about local community and really good basketball fans. Not the corporate feel at the bigger sites. Yes, I was disappointed CSU was sent here but in the end it was worth every penny. As silly as this sounds, if you ever have a chance to attend these First Four games, hop on it.

  30. Welp, the pac is dead, I remember months ago I asked on Reddit if WSU should just go independent, people thought I was crazy for even suggesting it.. Admittedly, it still is crazy. But at least I was prepared. I was shocked months ago but now I'm just sad. I will miss the pac. But for now, the pac's autobid is all I care about. Ideally, Stanford+Cal decide to headline a rebranded Mountain-Pac conference and they negotiate a decent tv deal based off of that playoff spot alone. Honestly, going to Hawaii/Vegas/Reno beats going to anywhere in Arizona so there's that and WSU is finally going to shake off its little brother rep and not compete as perennial underdogs if a rebrand with the MWC occurs, that's exciting too. Honestly, having reasons to visit Vegas/Hawaii while watching competitive and meaningful games would be nice..so fingers crossed lol CalFord are seeking reputation which is fine, the thing is..there really isn't an academically elite conference anymore so they'll have to compromise there no matter what unless they go indy. The problem there is, OSU might feel more comfortable in the Big 12 if they can't get CalFord on board elsewhere and WSU..well, that'd would leave us..if possible, in an even worse situation than the current one lol. Lots of WSU fans thinking Big12 but honestly, it's all about that cfp spot and if things fall right the MWC presents the best of all current opportunities to do just that. Stanford should grow a spine and trust that its brand is strong as is, and can only get stronger by headlining a conference but what do I know..? But that's the most likely scenario, I think. WSU will commit the MWC and will spend to win, OSU wont be invited to go along with whatever CalFord does and will end up right here with us. CalFord will end up either as independents or they'll realize the whole thing is temporary, park their programs in the Pac-MW for 7 odd years, perhaps play for a national title in that time as they headline a conference, and wait for the 2 superconferences to emerge from all this . I just don't think they'd be ok playing such schools as us even if it is just temporary... I say as "us" because there seems to be this notion that WSU and OSU thinks of themselves as "elite pac-12 teams" vs non p5 teams, but being told that you don't belong by the rest of the pac constantly, or that youre lucky, or on coattails...it gets old quick. We've had our status of a lesser pac team held against us long enough too; glad to be rid of their snooty selves as well honestly if that's the case..elitism is why they're now out begging for a conference in the first place.. Personally, I won't mind it at all. Boise is a good game, the travel is good, and WSU isn't such a little fish anymore...if and only if; the cfp spot remains intact. If it doesn't then WSU has problems beyond football and the state legislature will likely have to get involved. That's why the financial grumblings don't make sense to me. Either the payout from the pac will be enough, if not then the state will have to pony up because wsu's academic infrastructure can't be replaced within the state (huge vet/med/engineering etc school) and there are people's actual lives at stake here. I mean, you can't trade away the buildings.. As far as the apple cup is concerned, the answer is no. UW killed it.The student body wouldn't even allow WSU to face UW every year just to get smacked due to the extreme differences in money and talent, after about the 3rd year of uneven matchups, neither school would want to participate in it anyway, it'd be embarrassing for WSU and cringe for UW. The Apple Cup is dead unless the talent gap doesn't grow..which it will. And before all that? Those games get unruly as it is. I think they'd just be wiser to concentrate on making sure this year's Apple Cup actually gets played first. They're lucky it's in Seattle this year...if it were in Pullman I don't know if that game would even be playable this year. I mean, whenever the Huskies go to Pullman the environment is already a bit too toxic if it's a good year. This year? Oh boy.. And before you come at me with "the paycheck..." umm, yeah, that paycheck is worth way less than constant Ls against UW..if you really think people will stand for it because of money..like, umm, yeah..lots of the people of that mindset in and around Pullman may not even have a job at WSU in a couple weeks. The alumni network is already calling for heads lol... All in all..it won't really matter to us. They tell us in Pullman, once a coug..always a coug lol. We'll support the university regardless because for lots of us..WSU was like your first family away from your only family. It's not really just a school for us..people don't go to WSU just to get an education. I mean, nobody goes to WSU because they want to live in Pullman lol, they go because they want to be a part of and enjoy an actual community beyond just getting the degree.. So, yeah.. go cougs!

  31. Well folks - I don’t post here much anymore because of the regime that now runs the joint but today is an extraordinary circumstance. A few things have become very clear— on the field/court success don’t mean dick. Rivalries and traditions don’t mean dick. The networks control everything. And college sports is not about amateur athletes anymore. If we G5s (yes, even you SUDS) get cut out of the CFP, I’ll stop watching anything outside of our conference. Those mega semi-pro leagues can go +++++ themselves.

It is regrettable he never let his struggles known to this community so that we could let him know all these things whilst he lived, but completely understandable. As iron sharpens iron one man betters another. He made me a sharper thinker, debater, and forced me to have a more critical eye as to my thoughts and beliefs. This place will be all the less without him. And if any of you are going through personal struggles please know that these are good people. Our debate and disagreements have their purpose, but these are people with good hearts that hold no ill will towards anyone. He would chuckle, but Godspeed Jack. You have been lately and will always be missed. No man is an island, Entire of itself. Each is a piece of the continent, A part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less. As well as if a promontory were. As well as if a manor of thine own Or of thine friend's were. Each man's death diminishes me, For I am involved in mankind. Therefore, send not to know For whom the bell tolls, It tolls for thee.

  34. It says I’ve reached my limit and to subscribe although I’ve literally never been on that site. Anyways, I imagine it’s nothing new. BYU threw a fit, backstabbed many universities by calling in who they saw as the most gullible sheep they could heard up, convinced them to also backstab their fellow conference members, then the rest is history. Except of course the later part when big brother Utah left them in the dust, so they threw a fit again, took their ball and went home to die a slow death in independence. In summary, BYU is a backstabbing, low-life, cheating, tantrum-throwing, lying university with absolutely no morals. Fck BYU
