I'd prefer a board that isn't a massive troll fest. That shyt gets old fast and isn't very fun. I'm tired of every thread turning into a pissing match over which school or conference is better.4 points

BOISE - UNLV CSU - SJSU TSU - AF WSU - WYO OSU - UNI FresNo - Hawaii SDSU - Nevada USU - UNM or UTEP ---------------------------------------------- On paper, things look a bit different on the basketball court, but remember there always needs to be basement dwellers as well as champions, so some programs will rise and others fall in these new conference line-ups. In two short years (other than Gonzaga), I see UNM, GCU, NEV, UTEP and WYO moving up a bit in statue to pretty closely match the PAC-12 in final rankings. As far as potential media viewing population, I believe the MWC tops the PAC-12 with much larger markets possible. Fresno fans like to say things like, "Yeah, but no one in the Bay Area cares about SJSU" but the numbers don't lie--we still typically get higher viewership than them on the tube. I think the MWC will rise a bit, and the PAC-12 programs will sink a bit which in the end will look like two evenly matched conferences--only change will be that we got some of their money along the way! :)3 points

We need a board exclusively for our own conference fans to share thier thoughts, ideas and banter with other conference mates. Let the Pac-12 rot in their own PERCIEVED glory on that other board. How do we go about this? Just post something small about your team or current thoughts to get the gears turning again to generate replies. It doesn't need to be something deep or conjur-up an eye opening epiphany--just something silly like which team has the ugliest uniforms will work. I'm SO tired of reading crap from those PAC-12 Blowhards on that other board--it's time to move on!3 points

I'm in on this board or a MWC board only. No P2 and certainly no BYU!!3 points

Let's not forget that the MWCboard was in decline even before Mug sold it to Jeff. Many of the same members that were suffocating the MWCboard under Mug and then after Jeff bought it are now camping out on the WCSboard and puking their toxic take on virtually every thread there. I like Mug but I have little interest in posting on the WCSboard given it's domination by a handful of posters that constantly divert topics and suck the life out of most every thread. Interest in and participation on Sports boards isn't what it once was. So with fewer overall posters the toxic ones stand out even more. Any new members seem to get discouraged quickly when interacting with the handful of toxic +++++tards that need not be named if you have spent anytime on either of these boards. Makes it very hard to attract new board members from nMWC schools or from historical member fan bases. I suppose it's not viable financially but I'd prefer a board without a politics forum. My theory is that Politics forums attract the truly toxic board members who then spread there miserable existence to the sports forum.3 points

If one isnt already done… I’ll be starting game threads here for Lobos games against fellow nMWC members. I’m only interested in interacting/bantering, with MWC fan bases. At least the toxicity levels will come way down with fellow members.3 points

People are leery about coming back, some of you guys have come back. As we get closer, more people will trickle in. Just have to keep the momentum going and @Jeffkills will in all likelihood return here and give us the news one way or another.3 points

It used to be cheap, I used to run an hunting/outdoors forum that had several hundred active members. It was actually slightly profitable with sponsors and a couple posters giving small donations. The profit went to any necessary upgrades or a charity the community supported. Unfortunately with the advent of Instagram and Facebook groups, it really went downhill quickly over 2 years and the leftovers were all trolls etc. Just closed it up and it’s very similar to what I see elsewhere. It’s a different world now and I’m not sure the current format of message boarding is sustainable long term, certainly not profitable. A lot of the former boards I used to be a part of have closed up shop. ESPN boards, local rags used to have neighborhood forums etc. Speaking of local rags, I remember when the Las Vegas Review Journal came after this place with lawyers for not paying for the articles posted here. You get large enough, people will come after you or posters will complain nonstop. There’s always something and it’s a giant headache. Unfortunately there hasn’t been enough momentum here to justify a new site and forum as the season already kicked off. In fact probably more dead and quiet here than a month ago.2 points

While arguing they shouldn't have to pay a buyout. You guys are idiots. Lmao. Oh, and UNR, your beat writer is awesome. https://nevadasportsnet.com/newsletter-daily/week-in-1000-words-the-pac-12s-new-punitive-exit-fees-are-the-height-of-hypocrisy2 points

Your theory is correct. People get tribal on the non-sports side, pick their sides, then bring their tribal shit to the sports forum, taunting the same people. I never go to the non-sports side. It's +++++ing lame.2 points

You are both right, there needs to be more interest in this community. People need to come back and we’ll either have this place to continuing or a new board. 3-4 people standing around like on King of the Hill drinking Alamo’s and talking MWC sports isn’t going to be enough. I was told in confidence over the weekend there are going possibly be 2-3 more MWC forums, diluting the community significantly. There are some people interested breaking off from the other board, have their own ideas, complaining about how cliquey it is etc. I found it ironic given how things have transpired here. Either way, everyone needs to come back here and have a say.2 points

The current bylaws were written specifically for the possibility of exactly what happened. If the lawyers left any room in there that can be exploited then shame on us. I don’t think that happened. So far the only thing I’ve heard stated against us is that we weren’t nice to the 5 over the past year. That won’t be much of a defense against signed contracts developed and approved by these same schools. Then you add on that these 3 suing us were ready to inforce this same contract against suds 2 years ago and they have signed very similar contracts with the PAC.2 points

The MWC IS GETTING PAID! It’s just a matter of how much. September 9th we go into court to attempt to have the lawsuits thrown out. I doubt that happens. I imagine that at that time the official dates get set to hear the case. People keep saying that this will be settled before then. I don’t see it. So let’s get to court and get this thing over with. I’m still behind taking those signed contracts out for a spin and see what happens.2 points

Many programs in both conferences have had turnover with coaches, staffs and players. Nothing is poured in concrete yet and there are a lot of unknowns. UNLV tried the hire the up and coming lower division or assistant route for decades and it just doesn’t work. With limited funds available I see why schools go that route. We will see year 2 of that experiment with suds, Reno and now UNM. SJSU I think hit pay dirt with KN and USU stole BM which was a good acquisition. Still time is critical like never before to either get in or get out concerning football. Everyone should have learned a lesson with this recent split. Come the end of this next media contract and realignment we may all be locked in to our lot in life for years to come. This next 7 years anything can happen and yes the gap between conferences isn’t that wide at this point.2 points

It'll all be for nothing. If the bill isn't paid on 9/18, this place is finished. With as much interest as there is, it'd be worth getting a new site going that isn't at risk of going dark and will be updated. Best case would be if Jeff sells this to a stable situation and not the old guard. I'm not sure that is an option so 2nd best is new site with enough time to let people here know about it.2 points

We can’t control anything about the “what if’s” with this board. We can make an effort to bring this board back to life though through some basic efforts. As said by @SPARTOM just starting a conversation could be all that’s needed. I’m not posting much anywhere else because anything and everything just starts a pissing contest. So OK, when I have something to say I’ll just say it here. Just like responding to this post. It’s no big deal. Football is about to start, so maybe there are things to talk about again, like… SJSU got the preferred schedule handed to them this year and should be completing for the MWCCG. It’s going to be an uphill battle for the Rebels to overcome that. So who is going to give a brother a hand and take them down?2 points

The problem is that this boards domain name is up for renewal on Sep 18. There are ways to claim it if Jeff elects to not pay the bill. However, even if he doesn't pay, it can remain in limbo for 70ish days. Once claimed, a new site will need rebuilt and all this content is lost. @Jeffkills doesn’t respond to inquiries or offers, so it appears realistically, a totally new board is order. There's no way to know what Jeff’s intentions are. However, it's futile if 3 or 4 people all make different boards and try to compete against each other. I still think a non-profit board is best where revenue 1st covers cost/upgrades and if any additional money remains, it's returned to the users in forms of prizes or??2 points

I hope the MWC gets the same or close to the same as pacx, this way the damage that was done to the conference is minimized.2 points

Instead of just talking about getting this board going again it’s past time to just do it. Start threads and conversations related to the MWC and just follow through. I’m still on the other board but have little desire to engage. Everything is still up and running here so as long as it is just move forward.2 points

Long awaited but finally here, and we are still here.. The Mountain West Conference has finalized a new media rights deal beginning in the 2026-27 season, featuring a six-year partnership with CBS Sports, Fox Sports, The CW, and Kiswe. This, in conjunction with the new conference members, promises increased linear exposure, including 13+ football games on The CW and extensive coverage across CBS and Fox platforms. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] Key Details of the 2026-2032 Media Deal: Partnerships: Six-year deals with CBS, Fox, and streaming partner Kiswe, plus a five-year deal with The CW. Linear Coverage (CBS/Fox/CW): More than 150 live events annually, including football and basketball. The CW Package: 13 regular-season football games, 20 men's basketball games, and 15 women's basketball games. CBS Sports: 15 football games, 18 men's basketball games, and women's championship games. Fox Sports: 12 football games (including the championship game) and 20 men's basketball games. Streaming (Kiswe): A new dedicated MW app will stream all non-nationally broadcast sports, totaling over 1,000 events annually. Production: Pac-12 Enterprises will produce studio shows for The CW, but not the game broadcasts themselves. [1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8] The deal provides stability following major membership shifts, with the new, restructured conference including UTEP and others starting in July 2026. If anyone here is waiting on Jeff to do something, I think it is obvious that isn’t going to happen. Everyone can post and do everything just like normal. Just Do It. Just need to plant a seed and let it grow one post at a time. I would start a UNLV vs Wyoming thread but the info isn’t on the UNLV site yet because of our upcoming bye week.1 point

He doesn't really respond. His board but I'd definitely think it makes sense to announce new mods, direction, etc. New MWC. New MWC Board.1 point

Straggler here from rivals i was actually a moderator and was the reason that place went to crap. I didn’t delete any messages and let that place be a free for all. im looking to hang with fellow UNLV fans and fellow Mountain West stablemates. I have nothing against current or past members . where is everybody headed to?1 point

Apparently there has been some kind of agreement reached? If so, they they can keep getting my money, lol.1 point

However, in this case, we should have a decent argument for damages. The pac TV contract vs the mwc TV contract. The difference is clearly "damages" associated with their exit. Had those teams remained, that is likely the value of the TV contract. The MWC asked for 90 mill which, if rumors of TV value are true, is in line with damages.1 point

Couple weeks to go and the Dan Mullen era starts. Years ago this would have been unfathomable. Absolutely crazy to see him directing the team in practices and can’t wait to see him dial up some highlight reel plays. I also think Coleangelo gets the nod, though Orgi can be more dangerous if he can throw accurately.1 point

My number one concern was DC, Guenther playing the D way off and has no idea how to attack Idaho State’s offense.1 point

Got my tickets to see The Lobos wreck the Wolverines up in Ann Arbor. It's pretty cool, one of my good friends who lives up there is going to go with me. There was a group of five of us that hung out all working in Youth Ministry. Three have passed on since we've last been together. Going to raise a glass and seize the day!! Go Lobos!!! Arizona State is 2027 and Cal is next season. What’s interesting to me is that we will play 4 seasons in a row in the state of Texas. I would like to see UNLV play in Florida, that would be a gigantic recruiting chip for Mullen, assuming LSU, Michigan or someone doesn’t throw a 12 million a year contract at him after this season. Mullen is a coaching savant, highly tuned into the game planning and development. Previous staff didn’t really handle the quarterback situation well for the two seasons they were here. Mullen has indicated that he would be using both QBs for the first few games, letting them duke it out.1 point

There’s a good chance that’s an attendance record game. We’re 3-4 weeks away.1 point

You know we had an enforcer that took care of these guys and his name was @utenation. This was during a time where it was the WACoffs vs MWC, and they kept trying to troll this place and utenation was not having it here as well as other prominent posters that have since moved on since their school moved up to P4. Looking forward, I agree that there should not be a political sub forum here anymore, it just spills over into this main forum and elsewhere. It’s unnecessary and there’s plenty of other boards to entertain those discussions.1 point

Im glad that we got the schedule change to get this game first before going on the road to SHSU. There was a window to get better TV coverage that didn’t happen but it is still good to have the MWC network as a free streaming option. At least the fans or curiosity seekers can tune in easily for free. I’m looking forward to getting back into the Allegiant again and ending the boredom of these past few months. Usually a game like this would be very sparsely attended so I’m also curious to see the turnout to start the year. Also watching Fresno against Kansas as a measuring stick, go Kansas. SHSU and Hawaii as 2 future opponents, go Rainbow Warriors.1 point

Mullen first year record. MSU 5-7 (toughest schedule in the country in ten years at the time). Florida 10-3 (top ten finish). We’re in for another great season. All I know is that UNLV football is a must watch program. It’s unfortunate that none of the broadcast networks want to pay up for unlv vs Idaho state and it’ll be on the MW network instead.1 point

It would be great to see Hawaii take down Stanford. We should be home from the UNLV game to watch it.1 point

There’s no way to know how everything will shakeout and nobody can control it. Just get back to normal having conversations about the MWC. Whatever happens, happens. Till then I plan to post wherever I feel most comfortable. Right now that is more here than there.1 point

That is all based on this last year of the current contracts. Things will change next year. My understanding is next year FOX will carry Friday night matchups. Still everything is just speculation. It should all be announced over the next few weeks.1 point
