  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah, you handed many a ass whoopings over the years. I don’t have the fight anymore, Boise St’s fate is sealed and I’ve accepted that. I like the MWC schools for the most part and we’ve developed some good rivalries. Back then everything was volatile and new rumors popped up every day. Fun times but I’m glad it settled, even though my team ended up on the other side of the fence. Yep, back in the day the smaller conferences had a shot at inclusion with a formula. I forget the details but for 5 seconds it looked like the MWC was gonna get a shot until the Big 12 took TCU. Then the system changed which essentially shut the door on the G5. I think with 2 undefeated seasons and the right preseason ranking there is the potential to make the playoff. I think you might see a Gonzaga like team do it someday.
  3. Yes, it is super early but here is a list of Mountain West hoops players who should be considered for player of the year. Check the link to read why these were the picks. Vance Jackson, New Mexico Nico Carvacho, Colorado State Lavelle Scottie, Air Force Neemias Queta, Utah State Sam Merrill, Utah State Nate Grimes, Fresno State Malachi Flynn, San Diego State
  4. I don't have the time or the patience to sit and work the baffles on a old school smoker to make sure the temp stays constant for hours on end. The computer does that for me. If you want to do that then more power to you. I'm not cooking to prove a point, I just want my food to taste great and it does. I'll take the Pepsi Challenge with my ribs, tri tip and brisket vs REAL BBQ any day of the week.
  5. Thanks Ian. You were probably one of the best WAC trolls ever and fun to spar with as well.. And you've settled in nice here, IMO.. Those days were long ago.. I lurk here very rarely but the difference now from then is, programs like BSU, Fresno, USU, Nevada, Hawaii were trying to get into the MWC and the Superiority Complex we created was salt in the wound for fans of these programs that felt they were good enough to be in the MWC. It made for fun battles. Much different now.. There is really no common enemy and that in turn has created an environment of mostly internal battles with some common clowns that make easy targets.. Back then, the MWC was legitimately competing against the old Big East for P5 inclusion. Now it mostly seems that every program is just fighting for themselves. To answer SGF's question about me coming out of retirement.. There is no need. Different dynamics now. I still have the fire but if anything, it's only directed at BYU.. I'm just a lurker now with the occasional jab at BYU.. Utah is in a great spot and we're doing well on the field and in the finance department, so there really isn't any disrespect ire to fight. If I did have to pick a troll, my clear choice would be @BSUTOP25. That guy is the biggest douche-nozzle on the internet. BTW, LOL at @Nevada Convert, my, my how the story has changed over the years as pointed out on this thread by our esteemed Fresno Fan @retrofade. I actually feel bad for guys like Convert.. We really shouldn't make fun of guys that are about as smart as river rock I guess.. I really do think there are some very intelligent posters here and the sarcastic comedy is off the charts. I laugh every time I read this board. I think Mug has done a great job of balancing without being heavy handed.
  6. No offense taken We also have a new coaching staff which could be a plus or if there is a lot of adjusting it could be a problem.
  7. I am definitely not arguing for abortion. I'm arguing for the freedom of choice. You're absolutely correct; life is a gift. That being said, should someone be forced to give a gift? I understand that people who adopt are incredibly blessed to be able to be given that gift. It sounds to me that you're arguing that one should be obligated to give a gift to someone that wants it. To generalize: If I want something and someone is kind enough to gift it to me it makes me incredibly lucky. If I don't get what I want it doesn't mean that a person who had the means to give me that gift is a bad person for not doing so. It also doesn't mean that just because they are able to give me that gift that they should be forced to do so. In my analogy above I misstated that one could be jailed for refusing to finish their creation. The correct analogy is that they would be forced to finish said creation because the people that make the tools that would allow them to stop would be jailed if they give those tools to the creator.

  14. Based on your posts on these forums, it "says a lot" to you whenever anyone does not share your perspective. Some people might want to choose their own time and place to explain to a 4 year old why some kids have a mom and a dad, some have two moms, some have two dads, some just have a mom, and some just have a dad. Maybe a brief comment on the fly is not the best way to handle it for all parents.
  15. You seem to be arguing for abortion instead of giving the gift of life. I’m pointing out adoption is an option that usually ends well for all parties involved especially for the child. And I haven’t heard of any mother’s being jailed for an abortion in a very long time.
  16. I would hope you are not this snarky when you talk to your kids about it.
  17. Oh, and as to Game 6 of the 1980 Finals, Magic didnt play the middle on defense that day. That would be Jim Chones, who normally played PF next to Jabbar that series. Magic took Caldwell Jones, who was offensively useless to begin with. So the answer to the question is 'Same number of times Magic did'.
  18. Today
  19. I wholeheartedly agree that adoption is a wonderful thing. I'm not aware of the circumstances of how one goes about adopting a child, but I am aware that the numbers paint the picture of it not being an easy process. There are currently 428,000 foster children in the US. The adoption rate over the last 5 years had held steady at 50,000 children. 25,000 children leave foster care every year with no guardianship of any kind If you stop the process of creating something then yes, you will never know what could have been. That does not mean that you tell the creator of that item that they must finish their creation or be jailed.
  20. This thread sure died once we showed Fresno some respect..
  21. I guess they’re waiting til June for contract control reasons.. Ugh.. Mark Appel instead of Kris Bryant. At the time though it was deemed the right move. Whitley and Bukauskus have been rocked lately but I’m not worried yet. Whitley was crazy dominant last year. Fun times being and Astros fan.
  22. Gotta be schtick. Nobody's this dense.....
  23. I admit Woodbury didn't show anything close to what I was expecting.....maybe he was over rated, maybe he just got set back due to losing his HS senior season and then the knee injury............honestly, from what I saw, Woodbury or Coleman is about a push Thinking that between Woodbury being gone and Coleman staying, there won't be a noticeable difference in the coming season and perhaps Coleman brings more to the defensive side of the ball than Woodbury - Wasn't it coleman who played some decent minutes in the win at New mexico and he played some solid defense in the key stretch of that game ?!?!
  24. I don't think Boise has any spots left open - but we filled with lots of transfers (lots of redshirting freshman on last years team). Boise lost two seniors (Haney/Wacker) and forced out three others (Harwell/Dembley/Christon). They replaced them with: Kigab (Oregon Transfer) who will be a junior - but won't be eligible until January. Akot (Arizona Transfer) - still haven't heard if immediately eligible, but presumed he will be with all the Arizona NCAA drama. Shaver (Portland Transfer) - will have to sit 2019-20. Arnus (ETSU Transfer) - will have to sit 2019-20. Raymond Dennis (3*, #62 PG) - the only HS recruit.
