Yeah, a very good OL with Harvey Unga and the entire WR corps spells trouble for Heaps and the offense. TE is a reload position for BYU. Plus, I would expect to see the slot WR back at BYU next year. The offense will be just fine and will still be one of the tops in the MWC.

I think QB experience is more important at BYU than any MWC school except AF. That said, with Unga and the line returning, I don't think BYU will have trouble running the ball, as long as Anae is willing to do it. If he wants to throw 40 times a game I think you'll be in trouble, Heaps or no Heaps.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and yours is wrong.

That's like saying Cain or Wynn wouldn't have some growing pains with plenty of talent around them...

Welcome to the FBS, Mr Heaps... And welcome to a conference that plays defense, not to mention your predecessor left you with some unfinished business againt your new rival...

We'll see. I don't think the QB will have to carry the load for BYU on offense next season. There will be a lot of depth and options at RB. Anae's system isn't that complex anyway. Whoever starts at QB should do relatively decent. Max Hall surely didn't have too much trouble his 1st year as a starter. I just don't see your doomsday scenario coming to fruition. Sorry to disappoint.

and i stand by my statement before that your recieving core is nothing to get excited about. unga will help out a ton and i am sure byu will pull some TE out that will be productive. the line is ok, but speed rushers hurt them since you play 5 guards.

You won't ever hear me say that whoever starts won't have growing pains. Your assumption, not mine. And yes, a few Ute fans on this board got overexuberant with Wynn and his prospects as a 1st year starter. I'm sure some BYU types will do the same.

And I stand by my opinion that 99% of your statements where BYU is concerned are pure and utter garbage.

Interesting. Gives credence to PAC10 expansion but none to "who". Utah fans have to like their chances though. If nothing else, with all the news coming out of late there will more than likely be a pretty major shakeup in the CFB landscape in the next couple of years.

Why would the PAC10 take Utah when UNLV is ready and willing?????

I don't believe this but it would be pretty interesting if it did happen. I still don't see why Colorado would jump ship to the PAC10 either.

I kind of feel the same way. I think CU is probably going to stay put in the Big 12 but you never know. With that said, IF Colorado does not jump to the PAC 10 and IF in fact the PAC 10 wants to go to 12, which two teams do they pursue. Utah seems like a good pick but who would they ask to join with the YOOTS? I have heard some people say UNLV but really, is that going to happen? I have heard Nevada but again they have as much chance as UNLV of getting invited.

Who would be the partner to join YOOtah in the PAC 10? Can someone name a school and give some reasons why that school would be a logical invite to the PAC 10.

Well, I picked Utah to end at 10-3 and BYU at 10 or 11 wins in 2009.. I'll call my shot now and say BYU will probably get 9 wins and get drilled by Utah and TCU..

you know one team that does not get talked about is utep. i don't know what their academics are like, or if they are a research school. elpaso is right on the border of arizona. closer to either zona school than even usc or ucla. maybe the pac 10 would use this as an in to texas. texas recruting could be huge for the pac10. it is just a thought and idea.

You should go and read the threads on this very subject on the CU boards:

AllBuffs Thread on PAC Expansion

NetBuffs Message Board, search the threads, there are lots of them.

This is a shame if true. MWC on the verge of something really big and potentially torn apart. For some reason I would've liked to see the MWC have its BCS bid and competing for national championships. We'll have to wait and see. People gave me neg points for stating this a few months ago. To defeat the MWC, you simply got to take teams away from it. Mizzou heading to the Big 10, and Colorado to the Pac 10 leaves open 2 spaces for BYU and TCU to bolt to the Big XII. And on top of that the Big East could potentially get ripped apart. Its simply sad that money is getting in the way of traditions.

I am always approaching everything with a grain or a pound of salt.
Nothing's done until it's done.
But...doesn't it seem odd that most of the CFB outlets and some actual news outlets are running with this?
If it was just us message board geeks, then I would be a lot more skeptical.
When bspn and abc and USAToday are all running with it...what should my reaction be?
