Toughest Arena to Play at in the MWC? T@M, the Pitt, or the Marriot Center?

1. Marriott Center - the record over the last few years speaks for itself.
2. The Pit - good crowds, tough environment most of the time
3. Thomas & Mack Center - for a big game, not a tougher place to play, but every once in a while a slip up happens (i.e. Utah this year)
4. SDSU (whatever they call it now) - always a tough place to get a win. Best student section in the conference.
5. Huntman's Center - personally, the worst venue I've been too, but the Utes are always tough there.
6. Arena Auditorium - WYO is down and crowds are small, but a packed AA is as tough as any place in the conference.
7. Air Force (don't know the name) - same as what I said about the AA.
8. The Fort - good crowds and going to be a tough win the next few years.
9. TCU - pathetic crowds put them at this spot.

look up the history of Lobo-Rebel games I think you will find a game where the Lobos whipped the Rebs with Tark at the helm in the T&M.

I'm going to sum up the logic of Rebel fans today as the following: Because of one great game (more like one great half), Trevon is the POY, and the T&M is automatically the most difficult arena to play in.

I'm going to sum up the logic of the BYU fans today as the following: BYU loses after their fans have been claiming supreme conference ownership for weeks and now they are having trouble dealing with it.
I think deep down they know their basketball program is slowly taking a back seat in the conference to two other teams, just like in football, only this time it's basketball and it's to UNLV and UNM.

The funny part is I think you actually believe this.

So the fact that we are now tied for first with you has no bearing? Our enthusiasm was all because of this one game and none of the other games matter to us?
Talk about "living in Provo."
The only people who care about conference champs, MWC tournament champs, POY's, toughest gyms, FOY's first team all-conference or any other insignificant stat are people who do not understand college basketball.
The MWC is not a great basketball conference. It is a mediocre one (sneaking into the "good" category if we can get 3 teams ranked). Since it is not great, any award or title given by the conference isn't' worth the fabric for the banner. The only thing that should matter to MWC schools, since we are only a mediocre conference, is NCAA tournament victories. That is where the rubber hits the road for our conference. That is the only thing that matters in college basketball. It is the primary revenue generator outside ticket sales, and it is the only thing top talent recruits care about (try telling them about your conference championships or your "most feared arenas"). It is the primary measurement for a program's and coach's success. In other conferences, coaches are fired for lack of tournament victories. Those are the conferences where conference championships mean something.
I'm not going to brag on the T&M vs the Pit vs the Marriott, or postulate on Jimmer vs Tre for POY, because things like that only matter if you are in a great basketball conference.
We are not.
NCAA tourney wins are the only thing that matter and it has been one year too long since we have gotten one. Everything else is mindless banter.

Of course you will deny it in public but I'm sure in the dark of night while curled up in your beds there are many among you that toss and turn, unable to fall asleep. Deep down inside they know what is coming, all the signs are there, the end is near and all hope is lost.

How did you know? I mean we have all collectively tried to hide our worst fears of being surpassed in basketball by the rest of the conference but I can hide it no more. I will curl up in my bed tonight and toss and turn unable to fall asleep because I know the end is near and all hope is lost.

I really think you would be singing a diferent tune if you team had anything but a couple of tournament wins to show for themselves.
Fact is conference championships do matter. POY award do matter and tournament wins also matter. BYU has lost a bunch of tournament games in a row and that hurts but to pretend that the only thing that matters is a tournament wins is just stupid.
