A win is a win but

Our defense is AWESOME, they get the job but our offense is a mess. And special teams is even worse.
Are we a top 25 team?
Not based on the games so far. No sir.
So wtf is wrong on the O?
DJ Harper ran well so we can't put much blame on the run game or the Oline which leaves the QB and play calling. Joe continues to make bad decisions and worse his tendency to over throw receivers is not showing ANY signs of improvement.
I know he isn't Kellen and I don't expect him to be but we need to see some measurable improvement in his play and if it's there, I'm missing it. The play calling is at times head shaking. This certainly doesn't seem to be the same smooth transition we have had from Coach Pete to Harsin to Pease
I had predicted a 1-3 loss season and after MSU changed that to 2-4. I am still going with 2-4 at this point.
Bronco Nation does not need to panic. We do not need to call for changes or throw anyone under the bus. This season, as I said before, is going to be a work in progress all season long. Right now most of that work is on offense and we need a freakin kicker. It won't be what we have been accustomed to recently but it is out program, our team and they deserve our full support.
I am not 'writing this season off' but tempering my expectations and those are 1) we challenge for the MWC title but are not in the drivers seat and 2) this is a building year which will provide all kinds of valuable experience for next year. This is a young team and on offense especially that is painfully obvious.

Looked like an SEC game.

Your defense looked awesome against a pretty pedestrian offense. In the MSU game they looked good against a similar QB situation, but when MSU started pounding the ball, your defense had zero answer. I'd say they're pretty good at finding and exploiting an offense's weaknesses, but I wouldn't call that a great defense. Same with BYU- they've looked great so far against pretty pedestrian offenses.A win is a win but that was just butt ugly.

I'll reserve judgment until I see how both defenses play against some offenses that are lighting up scoreboards against competent defenses.

Agree with most of your points, but I still think we are top 25. The two teams we struggled with are fringe top 25 teams as well so not cause to panic.
Play call is horrible.
The only reason DJ broke 100 yards is becuase that's all we did was run up the middle.
I also have to but some blame on reqruiting. Why can we not get a good QB in the wings? really?
one of the most prolific offenses in the west and we cannot draft a good QB other than Kellen?
We can't get a decent kicker in here either??? - you think this would have been top priority after 2 years ago.
I think Joe can do the job better than Z did, but the play call is not working.

Ugly as hell. Looked like an SEC game.
If it were LSU-Bama, people would be saying it was a great played game and a defensive masterpiece.

Running when it doesn't really work in order to keep Joe from throwing an INT? How much of the play calling is to try and reduce the potential for Joe to make errors? And why the hell can't he pull the ball down and throw it in the same zip code as his receiver???
Things like that...
As for recruiting, I think we are lacking at kicker but can't make the same call about QB. 4 year starter KM may have been a problem. I think we have to expect the occasional transition year like Tharpe and now Southwick.
