As is the fact that he leads the MW in completion %. I won't even mention that he has rushed for more yards and TD's than SDSU's RB and has as many td's as your QB and RB combined.

You go girl!

Wow, completion percentage? Talk about a worthless stat.

As far as rushing, our RB's split carries, unlike UNR, we have more than one good one so we don't need our QB to run the ball 20 times a game.

Call it whatever you want...It happened..Though you think the kid is crap he was the Los Angeles County player of the year his senior

Very much doubt that. He didn't attend high school in L.A.

You don't have your QB run it because he can't. Katz trails in total offense, passing yards per game, completion percentage, total passing yards and if you take the total yards of both SDSU RB's, Fajardo has nearly as many yards as both combined....and Jefferson does have more than both combined. Maybe SDSU needs a third great RB?

I think it was LA Times POY or something like that. Other than that, this thread is way premature...whether you're criticizing, defending or promoting a player....put a stopper in it an reopen in about 8-10 weeks.

I agree. At the earliest, a thread like this should start after OOC is completed.

You obviously haven't seen him play.

3rd running back? We have like five.

SDSU rushing so far, 82 for 427 at 5.21 for 5 TDs.
UNR rushing so far, 110 for 498 at 4.53 for 7 TDs.

Our running game is just fine.

That's correct, Fajardo attended Servite High, which is in Anaheim, and was the The Los Angeles Times' Glenn Davis Award winner as the top player in Southern California.

I thought SDSU would have a decent passing game this year with Katz, but your running game does look solid.

Nevada
Rushing - rank 21 - 249 ypg
Passing - rank 56 - 250.5 ypg
Total - rank 28 - 499.5 ypg

SDSU
Rushing - rank 33 - 213.5 ypg
Passing - rank 104 - 171.5 ypg
Total - rank 71 - 385 ypg

We will, they're just getting their timing down. By conference play our offense is going to be balanced and scary.

It does take time for players to gel, and Katz has all the tools to be a solid QB and put of some decent numbers for you this season.

When has Katz ever been impressive in college? He is a mediocre qb, not horrible, but mediocre.

Maybe you haven't been keeping up on current events but we just got our azzes kicked.

Other than gobbling pretzels and sucking down Icee's while on the mall beat, what are you good at?

Fajardo, easily. He racked up a ton of Stats against tomato cans and did jack against teams with a pulse, and he's supposed to be some QB to fear that will challenge for all conference?

Fajardo is a top QB in the MWC. Let's see how he does against SDS then you can talk smack about him if he croaks. The guy can play you just don't know it I guess.

Not sure how you got that I said he's "been impressive in college" from that.

2 games is too little to even consider. Smith and Fajardo though are not over rated. Both are in the top 15 or so in offense in the country.

I'm not 100% sure on Fajardo's numbers, but in 2 games, Smith has about 600 yards passing (270 yards against Texas and 330 against Toledo) with 4 TDs and about 60 yards rushing.

I wasn't putting words in your mouth, I was just expressing my opinion. Katz has been around a while now, and started lots of games. I have never seen him look anything but average or slightly below average.

That's cool! My only point was that he has the tools to be a solid QB. I'm neutral on the subject, but he does currently have the third highest QB rating in the MWC. Like others have pointed out though, only 2 games, so hard to judge.

Simply too soon to tell. No one's really played common opponents yet, so it's hard to see how they stack up against one another.

Most overrated player in the MWC? Easily that P12 QB down there in SD playing for the surf queens.

Katz.
