I know you guys have had a few German players come over and play for you guys in the last few years. What do you guys know about the leagues over there?

We just found out SDSU has a walk on who played for the German national team and played for Wiesbaden in the Bundesliga.

Finding stuff on him has been a pain and there's like zero film of him on the Internet.

Wyoming has, I believe, five Germans on their roster right now. I don't know much about the leagues they came from, but do know that Dave Christensen has a coaching contact over there that he used to coach (I believe), which opened the pipeline for us.

The little I have heard it is like a highschool/semi-pro league started by the american military personel. I know one of the guys only had two years of eligibility. Can't find an english site though, sorry. Here is their official website.

Yeah, from what we're hearing this kid wasn't from any pipeline. He just showed up in the coaches offices and said, he's a new student from Germany and he wants to play football.

He's 6-4 310 so of course they said come on out.

I wish the German pipeline could be kept a secret for a bit longer...but every coach in the league knows by now and may really know after this year.

Isn't Oliver Schober from Germany?
