Sure. This conference was on the verge of being the best in the west performance wise. The MW should be better in round ball even now, but the money will soon catch up with them. It's also kinda sad...to know what the MWC could've been had all the teams stayed in the league...

I wouldn't, but the top 50 is respectable and it's above average. Huge fan of the QB at Wyoming.I'll take a top 50 ranking any day of the week...thanks for sharing!

2-6 is all over the place. I'm thinking a five way tie for....pretty close to how i think they'll end up. Switch AFA and CSU, and the whole WHYoming, CSU-F, SDSU middle could end up who knows where

Look at where Wyoming has been the past 10 years...ranked in the top 50 is huge progress from our Dimmel/Koenning/Glenn eras...
Glenn was happy with status quo, being mediocre...with that said, he did tons for the Wyoming program, and I for one wish he was still around in some form.

I agree with you and understand. Still, you're talking to a fan of a team that has been ranked in the top 10 for 4 years. I was in my twenties.Look at where Wyoming has been the past 10 years...ranked in the top 50 is huge progress from our Dimmel/Koenning/Glenn eras...

The WAC would still be alive, and CSU-F, Nevada, SJSU, and Choo Choo would all be in it. On the bright side Idaho wouldn't be FCS (at least in name)It's also kinda sad...to know what the MWC could've been had all the teams stayed in the league...

Boise has yet to appear in presnap and it's up to #18. TCU rolled in at #22 and BYU at #20. Our toughest opponent is landed at #33 and that's Louisiana Tech...ouchie in waiting for game 2? rhut rho...could be.

#33 is in the range. Presnap puts my squad at #30. I expected that for this year - hovering around the top25 until the season starts proving (or disproving) up the rankings climb. Just like last year...everything initially outside the top25 waiting for the take off. Or jump off (as in cliff).

How much climbing can UH realistically do with a SOS at 116? Even if they are undefeated I see a low ceiling in terms of rankings.
1 loss and I can't see them getting into the rankings at all.

Our SOS was even worse last year. Had we won out in all 13 games, it was Sugar Bowl against Michigan. We won't have that issue this year; remote side chance we go undefeated through all 13 games. However, a nice Top15 ranking and a Liberty Bowl berth and WIN (which would be a first ever for my squad) would be just fine. Just fine.
This is a git-it-all-together year for the 2013 season Orange Bowl. I'm cool with that. No prob. Even if we have to crush Boise to get to Miami (we still DON'T know how the divisions are gonna play out in BEland). Speaking of 2013, the SOS takes an uptick garyteed. It's BE stuff and it's BYU..along with Louisiana Tech, Rice, and UTSA. Half of the 2013 OOC is stout. Shoot, we can even have our annual turd loss in 2013 and still rip it in the Orange Bowl. But not two turd losses; there's no cushion for that mess.
And in closing...the rankings last year took a little time to percolate, but once they did....they just rolled and rolled. All the way to 5ish or so.

It's kind of silly to peg UH with a SOS before a single game has been played.
Realistically, will their SOS be bad? Probably. But do we really know that until we see how CUSA, LaTech, & UCLA perform? No.

Way too high: UNLV (OK, just kidding)
A bit too low: Air Force, SJSU
Way too llow: USU, La Tech

Percentages. You addressed that in your post, but you just might have overlooked the significance. It's kind of silly to peg UH with a SOS before a single game has been played.

We also draw ECU, SMU, and Tulsa. I know, not world beaters, but certainly respectable teams. Also, should we make the Championship game I would think we would play a pretty good team---perhaps even a ranked team. But overall it does look as if it could be one of the weaker schedules we have played.

It's the exact same as last year except Georgia State gets swapped out for Texas State. And all the venues flip flop. We cannot control how stout (or in this case, not so stout) everybody is. It was kind of bummer to see maybe half our sked come rolling out at the absolute dead bottom of presnapread's countdown....when that all started back in July. Ugh, but what the hay. It's all rear view mirror after this year; final swing through craptastic cusa. Game Two is the toughest on rankings paper. I suppose that's a plus. We win well over the Terry Bradshaws and it's some instant pop.

I don't buy the media critics' analysis that the MWC was an underpopulated conference to be of any value. Had the MWC branded its image in Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Dallas-Ft. Worth and San Diego it would have been fine. The fault comes from with our meek presidents who seem to fear success drawing attention to them. They're hopelessly content being under the radar. Little wonder why Hair survives after all these years. It's also kinda sad...to know what the MWC could've been had all the teams stayed in the league...
