TheLoboLair has learned that 2013- 6’ 7”Tim Myles has committed to New Mexico.Athletic aggressive rebounder who can run

Who the hell is this guy? I googled, couldnt find anything.

I would have thought after your "monster" season last year you would be reeling in top 150 recruits.

New Mexico has really been scraping the bottom of the bucket for players the last 1 & half years. Maybe this is the year it catches up with them. Alford is a great coach HUH??

I guess he looks okay in the 20 sec clip I could find of him. But I couldnt find him on scout, rivals or espn.

I would expect a bump in recruiting these next couple years, right?

We are taking somebody's spot....either StDSU or NM. Don't know who, but I see us toward top soon. Of course, I'd rather it be StDSU since they leaving.

You definetly have a good class coming in. Much better than New Mex, who is coming off a "monster" year.

I don't understand the hate here. Who cares? Basketball is played on the court not the recruiting websites.

No way recruiting is 85% of everything. You have to have the players to win national championships.

Ask Dion..the road to MWC Titles comes thru the Pit...good luck to the Bulldogs tho.

We all know you guys are defending MWC's. I hope you guys can have a great year to make this MWC race as fun as it has been the last few years. When I get on UNM for their recruiting it's because we all need you guys to be as good as you guys can be because SDSU is going to leave a bigger void than we all want to admit. SDSU is a really solid BB program who I thought could have even gotten better if they would have stayed in the MWC.

Unfortunately winning a conference championship, even the MWC championship, means nothing compared to playing on national TV and post-season success. UNLV and SDSU have recruited very well despite those facts. One would think, though, that UNM would be recruiting better than they are.

Probably just an undersized mid-major talent, wont have much of an impact in the 4-5 star heavy MWC wars.

This constant ragging on New Mexico's recruits is ridiculous. They are the defending champs of this conference and, like it or not, take their varying levels of recruits, and always seem to field a competitive team that's in the conference hunt. They will be fine. That school is far too committed to hoops to let SDSU and UNLV get too far ahead.

And Dion, man, you're a fellow Reb and all but, recruiting is 85% of the game? Really? Ever hear of a little school called Butler? I'm not sure if you know this or not, but they were in 2 of the last three final fours. Oh, and this other little school called VCU messed around and made a few appearances as well. Sure having the horses helps, but coaching is HUGE in college hoops.

Our Rebels have the biggest, most talented team we've seen since Tark was here but we could fall flat on our face if Rice doesn't do a great job coaching them to be a team. Personally, I think he can and that he will, but let's remember, the only victories they give you banners for are the ones played on the court.

Yeah but what have you guys done nationally? Alford era has seemed to be kind of a let down. You guys have not even had any success against top 20 teams in OOC. So you guys are good against 10 MWC teams. Nobody cares about 7 of them teams.

Looking at New Mexico's recruiting through the years we don't get those "superstar" 4 o 5 star players... What Alford and other New Mexico coaches have done is get players that they can develop and COACH UP into players that win.

While Myles isn't a "sexy" recruit, he has some tools that Alford can work with and will mold into a solid contributor.

On a side note, . Count me as one of those that knows NCAA basketball is all about the NCAA tourney! These regular season and MWC tourney championships while nice aren't as important as NCAA TOURNEY success... And I believe Alford gets us there

Your arguments are getting more ridiculous by each post. We get it, UNLV gets all the 5 star recruits while UNM settles for the scraps. Yet, we continue to get into the post season. Yes, we know we have never been to the sweet 16 but we are competitive despite not recruiting the way UNLV would like. Once again, who cares!? Worry about your team and we will worry about ours.

This is completely false, and a huge reason so many people give you Lobo fans shyt. You continue to distort the truth and attempt to make Alford a great coach with less talent, which isn't true. UNM has has had as much talent on paper as anyone in this conference.

I don't know why everyone is ragging on UNM; till Alford proves he can't get his team into the NCAA Tourney, and top 3 in the MW, then he gets a pass on the recruits he takes from me.

Your team affects the conference.

There is no reason New Mexico shouldnt be landing top 150 recruits.

Its a flag ship school lol, has a cool arena, good fan base, good facilities.

The only draw back is albuquerque. But hell, if UTEP, Kansas State, Fresno, ect can recruit top 150, there is no reason for New Mexico not too.

UNM's tourney success will come from the foundation of being a consistent player in the MWC. Alford has demonstrated that.....recruiting rankings don't win you championships/games.....it's what you do with the tools of the individual and meld them into a team.

I suspect we will see some post season success from UNM in the future.

Nothing to really say here.....except GO MWC!!

Let's see, Coach Alfred has two NCAA wins since his tenure at UNM began. And SDSU has had two NCAA wins since the beginning of time. Who went the fartherist in the tourney last year in the MWC? Was it SDSU, UNLV, COLO ST.....
