  1. I was not an Alford fan at UNM, smug and condescending. Since the UCLA experience he’s much better and wiser. I’m a fan now and we’re lucky to have him.
  2. I wanted to stay within 20 minutes of work so Somersett was a good compromise. I looked at Rancharrah but the back yards were tiny and I couldn’t stomach the $650 HOA fees. Arrow creek was a little pricey for my needs, though $350 per sf at Somersett isn’t exactly a bargain.
  3. Yes. I’m going to have to polish my golf game a little. The town has changed a lot since I left. Sparks is halfway to Pyramid Lake and Verdi is part of Reno it seems. The realtor wanted to show me something in Steamboat. Really? Anyway, not to high jack the thread, Alford has made more than 20 million over his career with housing and expenses generally paid for. Over 30 years, the return on his initial investments would have increased 2500 percent. If he goes to Stillwater, it’ll be about ego not money.
  4. SLC is a city I could live in. I have a son who goes to the U. It’s like Denver 30 years ago albeit housing prices are ridiculous. I never applied to U of U for my residency and regretted it as I drove through Salt Lake. Instead, I ended up in Denver, in the plains. I’m moving back to Reno next month and all those Vegas lovers can stay south. I’ll have a view of the Sierras and the Truckee is a mile away for fishing and the mountain bike park is down the street.
  5. Nice win. Good start to validating our bids. Also an extra 2 million.
  6. Maybe they had a bad game against Oregon. I read pretty much the same scouting report as you just posted so I expected much better than I saw at the game. KJ Simpson might be the only CU player that can get his own shot and he was tentative with several stupid turnovers. Lambkin is quick for heavier guy but I like Boise’s chances if that’s the team that shows up. CU also cost me 500 bucks on my parlay.
  7. That was always the better choice and he’d be a clear number 2. The current expected backup was a depth addition for USC and former UNM commit from JUCO. Riley might be desperate for another qb but he’s clear on passing on guys in it for the NIL bag.
  8. Choate not happy getting passed over by Boise twice.
  9. I also got better deals on Chrono24 than dealers that didn’t have a lot of inventory.
  10. As you know, your preferences change week to week. Most of my wrist time goes to my Seamaster and my orange dial Seiko GMT. I started wearing my Maurice Lacroix chronograph again. Instead of Tudor’s, one got a Nomos and the other a Longines blue moon dial.
  11. I bought new with manufacturer warranty but no issues with the watches so hopefully I won’t need to find out if there issues.
  12. I bought my Omega and Nomos through them. No issues and you can track your watches market value on it.
  13. I think NIL is solid for a mid major. Jazz was fishing for a large NIL deal before he signed and couldn’t get his number. He had several deals as a high schooler. I trust Alford though, he seems to pull donors from thin air.
  14. Hopefully Alford has the NIL donors lined up so they can keep them.
  15. Been to both and I don't know anyone that prefers it to Lawlor.
