  1. The Replacements were always big fans of Big Star.
  2. One of the cooler music things I've seen from Pond in a minute. These guys are mostly Kevin Parker's touring live band for Tame Impala, but definitely no side project. The greatest triumph to come out of COVID isolations were easily these recorded live shows at home or in studio, but goddamn am I glad to be going back to live shows again.
  3. The tabloid model that Rupert Murdoch perfected on cable news tv in the 90's has been adopted by most in that medium. When tv/radio news became a for profit enterprise in the late 80's after the FCC deregulation boom, people's attention became the only thing that mattered. And it's just easier when you can divide people into 2 camps.
  4. Chips n guacamole is way better anyway
  5. Careful.....they might be others.
  6. The Cossacks' reply came as a stream of insulting and vulgar rhymes: Those guys would have killed it in the writer's room for Succession.
  7. ....Sweetness can yet still prevail my friend, haha
  8. Yeah and that's what we also see in the divide of sentiment between younger and old in Russia. The older generation relies on state run propaganda, while the younger generations who use social media are getting a radically different story unaltered by the state.
  9. I agree with you that it's isn't republicans. Just saying that without context would be partisan BS, but it IS a significant voting block of the gop unfortunately. And recognizing that is important. Marjorie Taylor Green may be a know nothing fool, but she has a pretty huge national following that votes congruent to the party. And let's not pretend that it's just her. There were 4 elected representatives that spoke. AFPAC hosts a myriad of representatives that, whether we like it or not, speak for a relatively large block of far right voters that includes users from Gettr, Gab, Parler, Rumble, Telegram, and Trump's own soon to be popular among the far right social media platform. Among that representation is where the loudest pro Putin sentiment lies. I wish she didn't matter too, but what she and her following represents does. Thankfully, Putin's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine seems to be driving the more casual conservative voters away from these more extreme factions. Unfortunately, it's taking the invasion of a sovereign nation by Putin and the Indiscriminate killing of innocent lives for that to happen. I say, keep the pressure on and keep the momentum going of rooting out these bad actors. I hate the unending political division too, and hope one day for an end to our corrupt 2 party duopoly. But until that day comes, people can't just sit by idly while some of our representatives (current and former), and talking heads shill for a ruthless unhinged dictator. What I love about this place, is that no matter where we all are on the political spectrum, we can all say.... God be with you Ukraine. +++++ Putin.
  10. America First. He seems to be espousing a lot of the same rhetoric we hear from some on here, or your crazy uncle at thanksgiving dinner.....or the barkboard. Look into the origins of the history of America First. It goes back even further than the rise of the anti-war/isolationist American First Committee that gave rise to the Charles Lindbergh presidential candidacy of the 1940's. Original Meanings "American Dream" and "America First" - Smithsonian ... As a veiled message, it said everything they wanted to say without saying the nasty bits out loud. They hid its true intent in the 1940's behind anti war sentiment to grow it's membership and ranks, and it worked! When Lindbergh said things like, "The Jews are one of the principle forces attempting to lead the U.S. into the war. The Jews' greatest danger to this country lies in their large ownership and influence in our motion pictures, our press, our radio and our government," he knew exactly who he was speaking to. Now, juxtapose that sentiment to today under the same f**king slogan. It's the same people with the same plan, but with Putin and Xi using the the backdrop of our current culture war to foment division and discord. It was only the bombing of Pearl Harbor that galvanized American support of the the war efforts overseas in the 40's. Ironically, it seems Putin himself has galvanized support amongst nearly the entire free world against his tactics of division in the west with the invasion of Ukraine.
  11. .....She came on to the stage to Putin chants led by lil nicky
