youngredbullfan
Sink to UNLV's level? I think the ships have already passed. There's not many programs they could sink to at this point. thelawlorfaithful
What's become of this football program is a shame. A few years ago it was among the elite Non-Aq programs. Now it only lacks an email from the coaching staff to the fans asking for snack donations for it to resemble NMSU. Quote We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

4UNLV
http://www.staradvertiser.com/sportspremium/20140731_uh_football_Seasonticket_sales_near_35year_low.html?id=269341301 As of Wednesday morning, UH said 15,568 season tickets had been sold for the seven-game home season that begins Aug. 30 against Washington. UH sold 18,354 in 2013 and was at 27,705 in 2008 coming off the Sugar Bowl season. The record is 36,150 in 1986. Meanwhile, Rainbow Wahine volleyball sales are threatening to surpass a six-year high of 3,799. As of Wednesday morning, 3,748 had been sold, topping the 3,720 of 2013. Chow gets the boot after this season, win or lose. The fans have spoken... i'm sorry to hear about the low ticket sales, i really hope things get turned around soon. Hawaii will always struggle to compete at this level. I wouldn't blame the coaching or travel subs or anything except biting off more than they chew. that is so far off base... just sayin. soljah808
Hawaii has huge problems and the top 3 have nothing to do with who is coach - no? Jones saw where it was headed and that's why he left. Actually....he needed to leave for things to turn around. Believe it or not.....the facilities have been renovated or built after his departure....what hasn't changed is the system running the show. That's the concerning part. Quote University of Hawai'i Athletics
dpc8302
Didn't UH start on the football coaching office renovations right before JJ got to Hawaii? I believe the renovations were stopped after JJ left, then restarted and completed just in time for Mack's 2010 campaign. In 2006, UH missed out on a lot of fall practice time as their only practice field was flooded due to the large amount of rainfall during the period. If they continued to use it at that time, they'd ruin the field for the rest of the year. They ended up moving practice to the baseball field, which I believe had domo turf at the time, although they might still have had the Astroturf carpet. Cooke field(now TC Ching complex) at the time had no field turf or even astro turf left. All that was left was a black membrane that cats used as a litter box. Players actually used that field for off season conditioning. When JJ left, UH Immediately started the replacement of the field. Locker rooms had looked condemned ever since I first saw them in 2003, They finished renovations just in time for the players to sleep in them this year. Nevada Convert
Mac was also having some PC problems with his mouth, so that had to be a part of it. I never would've thought that NV season ticket sales would be nearly the same as Hawaii's. It'll turn around. I think Hawaii will do better this year than a lot of people think.
