"Hello Huskies!

Scheduling, scheduling, scheduling! If I had a dime for every time a Huskie fan or a member of the media has mentioned that topic to me since my arrival at NIU a year ago, there would be a lot of new shoes in the Frazier house!

That's why I'm so happy to kick off this week's "Huskie Football SchedulePalooza" with this special Frazier's Corner. Beginning tomorrow, we will be announcing one new home-and-home series every day this week (click here for the release). SchedulePalooza is more than just a catchy name. It's the result of a year of nose-to-the-grindstone work."

Northern Illinois will be announcing some new home-and-home games this week.  In their press release, they specifically mention trying to schedule games against the MWC.  It will be interesting to see who they schedule.

Nice. They are a quality opponent for any MWC school. It seems like they are being aggressive in trying to get a more difficult schedule.

Why?  I told you we have a 3-1 with BYU

I'll take a 1-1-1 with Wyoming, nothing less.

Neutral site to be CSU's new stadium. (BYU vs WYO would be the first game to be played there).

I am not a fan of scheduling MAC teams at all.

We got sucked into a quagmire of games against them when we did a 1-1 with Bowling Green way back in the day when Omar Jacobs was their QB (iirc). The problem was that as Boise State's rep started growing, we needed to push the return game out because we were getting chances to play better teams. So as part of the deal we agreed to 1-1's against other MAC schools, and it just kept going and going.

This coincided directly with MAC Football going into the ishhter so we were taking up slots with not-so-good teams, in areas we do not recruit, against schools our fans have little to no interest in.

I really do not want to see any more MAC/Sunbelt, and for the most part CUSA teams on Boise State's OOC schedule anytime soon.

They might make for mildly interesting inter-sectional games once in a blue moon, but I would way rather play the Vandals than any of those teams.

This is why so many MWC teams are scheduling BYU. It is very difficult for MWC schools to schedule Home and Home games. The P5 all wants 7 to 8 home games per season, which means they want an uneven series with the MWC.

MWC schools will need to schedule CUSA and MAC in order to fill out their schedule. BYU plays home and home in exchange for November games.

Confirmed.  SDSU and NIU schedule a home-and-home.

NIU seems to be getting a scheduling alliance with the MWC:  SDSU, WYO, and UNLV.

I meant they should make a scheduling agreement.

I'd like to see a Tulane vs Boise match up.

AAC seems to be scheduling P5, BYU, and CUSA OOC.

I think the AAC has an easier time scheduling than the MWC does, because of the geography of their schools.

Look at East Carolina's future schedules, for example:

Tulane even has apparent ease getting P5 games:

You can't compare those schools to the MWC, all of those schools in the East and South. There is a huge disparity of teams in the B10/SEC/ACC/B12 compared to the MWC. We for the most part have the Pac and some B12.

All within an hour flight of Tulane they have Ole Miss, LSU, Texas A&M, Texas, Mississippi State, Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Tennessee, and probably a few I'm forgetting. SDSU has USC/UCLA/Arizona State and U of A

I know who they WONT be scheduling  :P

According to their fans, the better team didn't win that night, this despite the fact that they had all of one first down (on a fake punt) in the second half before their garbage time TD.
