SDSU @ Nevada

We will be coming back from a game off the islands and it's very possible our team will be fatigued.

Starting this one early? Going to be super-hyped I guess.

I'll be going. Prepare the anuses at tailgate.

I didn't use any lube on Bauer and don't expect me to pay you that courtesy either.

The Aztecs expect Quinn, Ezell, and Jake back for that game. Huge difference from the players we put on the field for Fresno State.

Jake Fely first team all MWC Linebacker by everyone. The heart and soul of the Aztecs defense. He runs sideline to sideline and makes everyone better via his energy.

Ezell Ruffin first team all MWC Wide Receiver. A huge step up from the freshman that replaced him.

Quinn Keahler an average QB instead of a total disaster we played for 2 games (13-37-2  35.1% 73.5/Yards per game).

Those 3 players make the Aztecs much better on both sides of the ball. We rely a lot on the run but without Quinn and Ezell, defenses stacked against the run. That can't happen with those two. Ezell is fully capable of taking over a game.

SDSU has had 5 upper half NCAA berths in a row.

The Aztecs have 2 weeks to prepare for what is arguably for the MWC-West Championship, while the Wolf Pack will have home field, but also be coming off away games at BYU and Hawai'i.  This translates to short prep weeks for Nevada for 3 games in a row  ... when travel schedules are factored in along with the fatigue of coming back from a game in the islands.

Should be a good game, but I can see the amount of rest & prep the Aztecs have as being a decidedly huge advantage.

I think all of our opponents except SJSU & Hawaii have had extra time to prepare for us.

meh, we're already in your heads ...

I think I saw a post that was questioning the prep time you'd have for the Hawaii game seeing as you leave Thursday for the islands ... I just took it a step further with the travel back from the islands and the fatigue that comes with it ... that will affect the Wolf Packs' ability to prep for the Aztecs.

it was something RiverRun said in Nevada @ Hawaii -- Game Week

"Not so fast, I'm not convinced.

With the late game in Provo, and Nevada leaving for the Islands on Thursday, creates a really short week of preparation for the Hawaii game.  We also have a few key players who are nursing some injuries.  This game makes me nervous."

You couldn't be any further off base.  Pretty clear from my comment that it's Hawaii in our heads.  Pack fans have good reason, and it goes beyond a short prep week.  There's bad juju on the Islands for Nevada.

We'll have a normal prep week for our home game vs SDSU, so not concerned about it.  Extra prep during a bye week can be beneficial, but on the flip side, teams sometimes come out flat after a week off.

I'm expecting a loss tbh

I'm expecting a win.

We will have 2 weeks to rest and prepare for the best QB in the MWC.  You don't want to give Rocky Long two weeks to prepare his defense that is already stout to begin with.

We will have Fely, Largent and Ruffin back.  Not to mention two additional weeks for QK to get healthier.

Nevada will be coming off a long road trip to Hawaii.

I like our chances.

Should be a good game.

I was factoring the travel fatigue that comes with Hawaii travel ... When does the team leave Hawaii Saturday night or Sunday? Nevada has as much a possibility of coming out flat after back to back games away at Provo then Honolulu.

As far as the Bye week for us ... we get to re-integrate Largent, Ruffin and possibly Fely -- while at the same time giving Kaehler time to heal as well as take more snaps over a 2 week period of prep.  We could use the time to scheme against a mobile QB, our nemesis on D.
