  1. Oh, Ted Williams, so it has something to do with fighter planes. Those are cool
  2. I've never heard of this thing, 'Baseball' what is it, I'm intrigued.
  3. time is too restricting, it might have started or might end. Sorry you guys are going to have winless weeks in the future without us, you can stop by next year with UNLV and UNM fans and admire the 2 new MWC bball banners we'll hoist, though.
  4. And all of the MWC except Daddy lost. SUDS won't be here to protect you from winless weeks in the years to come
  5. Hawaii is not allowed to have Green on Green, so the MWC is stealing all of Hawaii's green
  6. Man, it would be awful to travel to Hawaii everyother year, and then sell 30k+ tickets to pay for it with the extra game. Jumping on a jet from SD to Hawaii or SD to the east coast sure is a lot worse than getting on a plane to fly into denver and bussing (which equals the same amount of traveling time) or paying a huge premium to get someone to fly something that barely fits into one of the shiit towns in the MWC
  7. Boise and/or SDSU as part of joining the Big West, some consideration from the big east, e.g. a team a year traveling out there, etc. I don't think they'd have much of a problem figuring it out.
  8. Those other schools will make money on their 13th game and market it as a vacation/cool destination to alums and players/recruits. Hawaii just has to grow some balls and they would be a huge hit as an Indy.
  9. That money to spend on something like basketball will never come by playing UNLV and UNM at home once each a year, but, playing at least as many marquee games while also having another 6+ million to spend makes is feasible. We could sit here and bball will never get what it needs, or we can roll the dice and have money to spend and hope we can load up the schedule enough that spending money on bought opponents and facility to will build it. Really, it's a no brainier for us; for youz guyz, it might not be, but you guys are in a different situation - as bad as we've been at football, at it's core we will always be a football school
  10. I think at best my description (trolling) betrays that hate, but I think the reasoning is fairly solid. At this point, it is a 1/4 of tv money giveback to not get subs, and in another way, it's a 12.5%+ payout of the tv deal per team to take Hawaii's ppv (or, CBS is already taking that) When one loses 4 million, a 2 million score seems even more important and precious
  11. Some of it is hyperbole re: SDSU and the going broke deal. I'm sure we could tread water here (losing another 400k would not have been good of course when all of us are on the bleeding edge budgetwise). We were in a big whole in 07/08 as Chuck Long ruined the program and football was producing around a mil less than was projected. I think it was a 2 to 2.5 hole. They started chipping away and for a couple years were just carrying that debt, it appears to have been wiped fully away. We've started replacing staff we had to let go to get the budget in order and there is that looming but coming on like a freight train issue of we need a bball practice facility to be a legit top 30 program long term, so it's not so much going broke as not being able to build. The Hawaii issue is quite perplexing. The only thing I can figure is they are just inherently adverse to going indy and so are at the whim of the MWC
  12. Sharky, I think the MWC thinks they have Hawaii by the balls, they get to steal their money and play in Hawaii for free and are daring them to go Indy.
  13. No, he's just going to keep saying what about USU for some reason
  14. And that isn't true at all and you know it. SDSU actually spends money on it's sports and after a shortfall for a few years is back in black. You show me where that money you get from the thomas and mack actually is spent on sports and i'll change my tone, or that all those schools with mid 20s budgets are doing anything
