  1. Not even comparable, especially since this year hasn't been played yet! Moron, go play troll somewhere else. This is getting repetitive and as boring as usual.
  2. Interesting turn of events. http://www.idahostatesman.com/sports/college/mountain-west/boise-state-university/bronco-beat-blog/article142935634.html
  3. That kicker I think is Mike Black. He is and has been a spotter in the NFL for MNF (I think) for years. He had a decent non-NFL career... USFL, arena, maybe even Canada. I remember the MNF staff calling him out after the first Fiesta Bowl win and him talking about it a bit. I remember that game! Those old Big Sky shoot outs were crazy fun.
  4. Maybe we should just see if Mug will pin this thread. Tag it recurring theme.
  5. i was thinking over the weekend that it may just be about time to fire this bad boy back up again!
  6. How do these stats stand up against the other G5 schools? It would be an interesting way to compare relative strength of conference between our presumed peer institutions.
  7. BYU wanted to retain their 3rd tier distribution rights to put into BYUTV and the MWC wasn't willing to allow that. Hello.... old, often repeated news.
  8. It is amusing to watch Hawaii fans (some of them) cry about uneven distribution when they have their own, protected sweetheart deal to show their games throughout the islands. The reason there is no interest on a national level by ESPN or other network is because who the hell is going to be watching those games? No one on the mainland wants them. Demand that they become part of a shared revenue system and watch Hawaii fan really start crying. It was those same demands by BYhooooo that factored heavily into their decision to become independent. For BYU and Hawaii there is value in third tier rights. For most everyone else... not so much. But to continue to whine about the current distribution model while pocketing that PPV money is absurd. At least SDSU has a legitimate b!tch. I think the next round of media contracts will eliminate a lot of these problems. Will BSU be able to continue to make more, probably, but so will everyone else.
  9. Hawaii was a trash bin long before "unequal" distribution came into the mix. They refused to pay June-Boy. They refuse to make decent hires. The facilities are a dumpster fire. They can't keep any decent local talent from fleeing to the mainland. And, to make matters worse, the majority of their fan base is a fickle and nonsupporting as Warbow. You can make all the excuses you want, but Hawaii fans refuse to support a program either in attendance or donations to even match that of SJSU. As a matter of fact, it really is Hawaii that is the embarrassment to this conference. If it wasn't for the travel subsidies it wouldn't even be worth the annual a$$kicking that everyone hands to the Rainbow Warriors. This way, at least, we don't have to pay to play a JV team.
  10. So, Hawaii has its own, special TV deal? Why not share that with everyone? What makes Hawaii special? The price of admission, little man to be in a conference... you gotta travel. It is not the fault of the other schools in the MWC that Hawaii is so isolated. Yet, they chose to be in this conference for football and whateverthehell other conference for everything else. I am sorry, but the world doesn't revolve around EVERYONE going to Hawaii just for the privilege of kicking your a$$es. In the real world you have to leave the cozy confines of Hawaii to experience at least some of your annual a$$kickings.
  11. Again, you're showing how little you really know. Petersen took almost all of the senior coaches and primary assistants with him to Washington. Go back to girls volleyball... at least in that, you have some rudimentary knowledge.
  12. Hello, pot. I'd like you to meet the kettle. So, traveling 2000+ ,miles without any subsidies to offset those costs just to play the rainbow warriors at home is expected and NOT giving any sort of unfair advantage to Hawaii? What happened to all that pay per view money Hawaii was rolling in just a few years ago? It dry up when June-Boy escaped the Rock?
  13. Wow, you are just daft. Too much sun, Bow.... you've fried your little brain! Very little, if any, of Simplot's money goes to the football program. Actually, it is surprising how few real, big donors BSU has pulled into the fold over the years.
  14. That's not correct http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2014/05/09/college-football-playoff-cinderellas-power-conferences/8917705/ The top 12 teams will be chosen and published as it's own poll not any of the traditional polls. Strength of schedule to the key factor. it is probable that a 2 or a 3 loss P5 team is "ranked" by the committee higher than a 1 loss or undefeated G5 team. Additionally, the Access Bowls unless contracted to a conference, the participants will be chosen by the committee based on history, interest, and proximity as well as rankings. 15. The key is to have splashy wins against G5 schools and dominate the rest of your schedule. G5 schools probably won't get a peek at the playoff unless something disastrous happens in the P5 conferences and the G5 school has big time OOC schedule and wins. As for the Access bowls, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if a G5 school goes 2-1 in OOC with close loss to a P5 power get selected over an undefeated G5 school with a soft OOC schedule. The conferences are going to help a lot too in terms of the stature of the champions that come out of them. Last year, for example, the MWC was SOFT, SOFT, SOFT OOC and Fresno suffered in the BCS structure. It will be worse in the new format. It is imperative the the conference teams step up.
