Question

Can UNLV take down BYU in Las Vegas this weekend.................Bring'em Young favored by 12.

Can lighting strike and could UNLV pull off the win???

Yeah, it could happen. Frank the Tank through the middle 20-30 times. Get to Hall and rattle him.

Don't turn the ball over like UNM did.

Sure, it could, but will it?

Well who would have thought UNLV would beat Utah, much less shut them out................it will take a top notch effort and few to no mistakes, but it could happen.............BYU has some flaws and will give up yards.

UNM should have beaten BYU, if they hadn't given away two TD's.

Well, it happened. So hang your hat on that and know that it will be another 30 years before it happens again. :D

Ball security. Don't turn over the ball and see what happens.

Yeah, it could happen.

I don't see UNLV matching up that well with BYU:

IMO UNLV's rush D is better than their pass D

Were BYU's rush D is better than their pass D

BYU is a passing team more like Hawaii, than a rushing team like Wisconsin and Utah.....

This year in college football anything can happen!!!

That being said, it would take UNLV being +3 in turnovers and 100 yards of penalties to pull this one off. I think the league will find out that UNM is a dang good team. Ferguson is much better than the "Tank", and UNM has better QB/WR combo. I don't know that UNLV's D is as good as UNM either. BYU has averaged what 52-10 vs. UNLV the past 2 years? That will not be the spread but barring BYU pulling a 5 turnover 15-penalty game I think 35-17 BYU.

Again nothing is a lock this year!

GO COUGARS!!!

I have to comment on this statement (after hearing similar statements about 50 times lately).

I'm not discounting that this was a close game, but don't forget that BYU also turned the ball over within their own Blue zone, threw a pick in the end zone, and blew a 15 point lead (i.e. BYU made a lot of mistakes that could have cost the game too).

Usually when a team "should have won" they have much better stats, gained a lot more yardage, (see Cincy v. Oregon State), or was up by 20+ points in the 4th or something like that (TCU v. UW). This was just a close game.

Look at the stats. Other than the fact that BYU had 5 more first downs the stats were very even (only 3 less rushing yards, 20 more passing yards = 17 more total yards for BYU). Moreover, had they scored instead of UNM getting a pick (a pick in the middle of the field is one thing, but this took points off the board) this game may not have been close (could have been up 24-28 to 6 after A. Collie's touchdown).

In other words, UNM had a great chance to win this game. But it wasn't as though they "should have" won.

The answer is no.

Put everything you have on the Cougars. The house, the kids college fund, your 401k and everything else you can borrow from family and friends.

This is guaranteed easy money.

THANK YOU!

Rebel Robert has guaranteed a BYU win. This means that a UNLV victory is a virtual lock.

Sorry, boys, maybe next year.

Offense

Edge BYU averages more than 100 more yards per game

Defense

Edge BYU, gives up 50 yards less per game.

Scoring Offense

Edge BYU 29 to 18

Scoring Defense

Even Steven

The only way UNLV has a chance is if they win the turnover battle. They have to force atleast 2+ more turnovers than BYU forces to win.

I predict BYU by 13.

Crap! :D

The last two years, BYU has won by a combined score of 107-21.

And seeing as how that doesn't matter in the slightest THIS year... hmm... UNLV's defense looks much improved, Dixon can run even better than he passes, and Summers is blossoming nicely into a monster...

BYU 41, UNLV 13

#20 BYU 14, #3 Oklahoma 13

#18 BYU 26, #21 Utah 23

#14 BYU 44, #16 Oregon State 20

#10 BYU 82, Utah 69

#14 BYU 71, Utah 51

#16 BYU 99, Florida 92
