Not sure where the penalites kick in, but I would be concerned if I was Alford at UNM or Kruger at UNLV.

BYU and Utah have a well documented excuse for having a low grad rate. What's the deal with NM and UNLV?

If athlete's transfer, drop out, exits early for the pros, etc. they are not removed from the graduation percentage...once their in the census for the program if they aren't done in 6 then it's a ding against the rate for the program. FYI

Nothing to really say here.....except GO MWC!!

Actually I think they changed the rule for transfer that leave in good academic standing and they don't count against you.. Not to many MWC teams have players leave early for the pros. These numbers look bad for some teams. I was suprised how low TCU was in BB.

Yeah, UNM is going to get hit due to the APR, and the mass exdous of players transfering under McKay.

We're probably gonna get hit with the loss of two schollies.

McKay screwed us.

New President, New A.D., new Coach's everywhere at UNM.

Things will be ALOT different at UNM the next 5-10 years.

Some tcu thugs are starting to hurt tcu's graduation rates.

You are just mad because it used to be just your job to bring the graduation rate down.

Just kidding Robert.

The latest Graduation Success Rate figures of scholarship student-athletes who began college from 1997-2000

I don't think that reflects any of Kruger's or Alford's players.

I wonder what the longhorns graduation rates are? LOL!

Let's see. Vince Young scored a whopping 6 on the NFL Wonderlick test. Did this guy actually graduate from Texas?

Correct -The GSR is backward looking, and not used for penalites. I think the NCAA tracks this number to help them evolve the more current Academic Progress Report, which just looks at the last three years, and is used for penalites. An APR score below 925, which is supposed to corralate to a 50% graduation rate, will result in penalies.

Last NCAA APR's

2 MWC programs are currenlty under Academic Sanction, and a whole mess more on thin ice.

Football/Basketball

AFA 975/974

SDSU 888/927 - I don't see how their football team avoids penalties.

TCU 962/921 - Basketball on thin ice.

CSU 944/892 - Basketball Scholarship loss means nothing - not using all now.

WYO 932/881 -Lost one basketball scholarship

Utah 949/912 - B-Ball needs to graduate some guys pronto.

BYU 945/994

UNM 915/899 How 'bout some money for academics instead of the PIT?

UNLV 901/886 Football has lost 3 scholies - Basketball will be hit next.
