MWCCG home field

Recommended Posts

Colorado State or potentially Boise could be ranked at 10-2, but other than that you are correct, nobody will be ranked.

I doubt very much that BSU or CSU will be ranked with a record of 10-2 and that's not a reflection of how good there are but rather how down this conference is this year compared to the last two years.

So it's pretty clear that neither side will be ranked who will host the game if both teams have the same record?

If neither team is ranked, then the home field will be determined by the old BcS computer rankings.

Seems like Boise's loss to Ole Miss might help them in this case huh?  But if CSU wins out they'll be ranked over Boise.

The berth in the CCG is determined by conference record, so Boise definitely has a leg up in the mountain right now.  All they have to do is win the rest of their conference games.  As of now, I expect that will be the case.  Maybe USU and/or SDSU will have something to say about that.

The formula above only applies to the location of the CCG, not participation.  If it comes down to Boise and UNR, the game will be at whichever of those two has the best profile in the computers.

You would think so since Ole Miss is #3 in the nation.  But that the loss to Air Force seems to be unforgiveable to the pollsters.

Boise was ranked at 10-2 in 2012.. I don't think we win out though.

Do you play USU in Logan or Boise this year?

That is very incorrect. The league is significantly better than last year. BSU would definitely be ranked at 10-2, and Colorado State is only a few wins away from being ranked.

CSU is already like 28th in the Coaches Poll. I could see them ending up ranked if they had 1 more loss at the end of the season.

If Boise State loses to BYU and then runs the table, you could have the MWC with one ranked team who isn't even playing in the championship game.
