B12 to add USF, WVU, &Cincy in 2014 and BYU in 2013

Lousiville, USF, Cincy, & WVA in 2014...I left out Louisville in title of post.

BYU, West Virginia and L'ville are headed to the Big XII, that's for sure, but my guess is they end at 12. Cincy and USF will be C-USA bound once UConn and Rutgers (or Notre Dame) head to the ACC.

Best programs available are BYU, WVA & UL...........not any reason to add Cincy & USF. just more travel expenses and little return for adding those two.

Not sure about Cinci and Ohio but the Big12 getting their foot in the Florida recruiting door

would certainly add some value.

Makes total sense.

Not in the case of USF. They are too much of a geographic outlier.

If it's true as somebody said that the SEC told WVU thanks but no thanks, then the Mountaineers, Louisville and either BYU or Cincinnati make the most sense to me. Actually Cincy makes more sense than BYU. Not because of the MormonTV thing. Rather, as one of the Mandel guys said (I get them confused), because of the no-Sunday restriction and because, again, to get to Provo everybody in the conference would have to fly over two or more states. With UL and WVU also joining, that wouldn't be true for Cincinnati.

So book it. Louisville, Cincinnati and West Virginia to the Big 12.

Oh and that's pretty much going to be the end of the Big East as a football conference. (Sorry USF but you barely warranted being in an AQ conference to begin with. Same for you, UConn and Rutgers, though you may still land on your feet in the ACC.)

Boom goes the dynamite.

The major programs like OU & UT slready recruit from all over..........it might help the 2nd tier of schools. but those programs are probably only going to get sniffs from 2nd/3rd/4th tier FL recruits. FL is SEC country and some ACC and some big time programs like Nebraska, Ohio St. Mich, ND Etc.

This. In essence the expansion decision will be made by Texas and Oklahoma and neither needs to have a conference school in Florida in order to get recruits from that state.

Texas (the 800 lb. gorilla in the Big XII) "Gets what it wants!" Why do you think TCU hasn't been a serious candidate for Big XII expansion?

Other posters not real convincing this is a real insider with any serious info..........

However that is good news for the MWC if any of it actually happens

If Ira Mandel, Stuart Mandel or Whozit Mandel was correct on Tim Brando's show yesterday, Texas isn't going to allow any other school from inside the state to join the Big 12. That includes TCU, Houston, SMU, you name it. UT supposedly thinks the Big 12 already has the state wrapped up TV-wise and bringing in other schools would just help them recruit against the Longhorns. That makes so much sense that it's amazing anybody actually thinks TCU or Houston could be a candidate to join unless the state legislature told UT to back off. Since Texas Tech and Baylor both also have clout in the legislature and probably feel the same as UT, I'm not at all persuaded that Houston is going to be successful in that effort.

Texas is being really stupid about this and the other Big 12 schools need to tell the Horns that they will not go along with this.

Texas does not want TCU or Houston or SMU in the Big 12 because it does not want to give the non-Texas schools of the Big 12 another chance to play inside Texas, especially not in DFW or Houston.

The Big 12 is dangerously close to losing Houston as a primary market anyway, what with LSU and A&M both having huge support in that market. Houston would help the Big 12 hold onto the Houston market and the Coogs have done really well on TV in Houston.

Likewise, TCU has pulled in great ratings for DFW. TCU's Fiesta Bowl had about 20% more DFW viewers (almost 900k in DFW alone) than Texas' Fiesta Bowl the year before, for example, even with pretty much every single Frog alum and fan at the Fiesta Bowl. The Big 12's TV partners have signed off on TCU as a suitable replacement for A&M (and BYU as well), so the TV folks don't worry about TCU not drawing enough viewers.

With every Big 12 school not named the University of Texas recruiting north Texas like crazy, giving them extra games in the region only helps them with recruiting.

TCU's recruiting is not the issue. TCU's fan base is not the issue. TCU's local support is not the issue. Texas trying to one up the other schools in the conference is the issue.

Baylor no longer is going to oppose TCU --- Baylor's win over TCU was its best attended game in a long, long time, and BU now realizes that it has nothing to lord over TCU and so it needs to become TCU's partner and rival, not its enemy.

Bye Bye, Best of luck! !! May the MWC survive, and prosper

I hope BIG12 adds West Virginia, Louisville, and Cincinnati and stop at 12 Although I can see how BYU might be attractive to them especially if BIG12 loses Missouri to the SEC

Hopefully the ACC adds UCONN and Rutgers

Anything that kills the BIGEAST helps the MWC.

If the BIGEAST dies and if the MWC can retain Air Force, Boise St, and TCU.....legally speaking it is in the best interest of the cartel to give the MWC the BE's former spot
