College football live on ESPN says that BYU to go undefeated. Then the other guy picked Utah. Funny no mention of Fresno. this will be good for Utah, they are starting to get some press about being very good next year which will help them get some votes in the preseason polls.

Nobody expects Fresno to go undefeated. Nor should they -- our OOC schedule is too tough. If we do, we have a shot at the BCS NC game -- and Hill is swinging for that particular fence. But BYU and Utah (and several other schools) are much better bets for going undefeated.

After deleting some of my posts and closing the offending SteveAztec thread, a couple of elites have been able to open it long enough to respond to me anyway.  And since I can’t respond on a closed thread, here is my response…

Other than the initial inquiry, this has never been about letting Steve post again; I doubt that he even wants to post here.  My complaint is about his treatment on this board and the failure of admins to control attacks on him – and worse, to sometimes participate in those attacks.

Steve was first banned on the SDSU board.  When he was banned, it was a sufficiently controversial that they started what became an 8 page thread on the topic to justify the decision (https://aztecmesa.proboards.com/thread/9747/steve-aztec-longer-member-board).  It is clear that Steve had support in the community and there was some criticism for the Board Administrators for having failed to “expel the dozens of people who've been taunting him.”  (And take a look at the thread that I bumped; initially it was supporters happy about Steve getting a radio show.  Then the haters arrived.)

I can’t say if Steve took it too far in response, but I will say that he denies most of various accusations and adds important missing context to others.  But I wasn’t a party to any of the events and can’t say who is in the right and who is in the wrong.  And I have to admit that if half of what has been said about him is true, depending on context, I might well have banned him too.  Or more likely I might have banned those who were taunting him.  (Steve had lost a brother-in-law to suicide and there have been a number of memes of people blowing their brains out, as well as posts blaming Steve or his sister for the suicide – and admins apparently let it go.)

I am in no position to evaluate the truth or falsity of the laundry list of claims made on this board about how Steve responded to all this.  My complaint, however, is about his treatment on this board.  I may be wrong, but his banning on this board at least appears to have been less about what he did on this board and more a carryover from the SDSU banning.  The same taunting continued – more suicide memes – apparently ignored by the admins. Utenation supposedly posted the first and it is explained away because he didn’t know about the suicide.  But was the post taken down?  Was an apology issued?   Indeed, for years, admins on this board have allowed Steve to be vilified based on little more than anecdotal hearsay.  This is a privately owned board, but it is not a private board – anyone can join.  And more than that, It’s not an anonymous board; people know who Steve.  You have a duty to protect your posters from libelous statements and unproven allegations -- especially when, having been banned themselves, they have no ability to defend themselves.

Even Retrofade (who says he’s not a mod but can post to closed threads) put up a “blowing his brains out” meme several years ago.  He knew that Steve lost his brother-in-law to suicide, and he now says that “Steve is a mentally disturbed individual”, which is libelous by the way, but excuses his meme as nothing more than being in “poor taste”.  Apparently it is okay with the board's current admins to taunt a "mentally disturbed person" because the post has never been taken down.  The poster has never been admonished.  And there has been no apology, unless you consider "he deserved it" to be an apology.

In my view, you owe Steve an apology for the treatment that you have tolerated and, in some cases, engaged in.  A former Aztec board went out of business when sued (not by Steve).  It won’t be the last one.  You need to fix this.  You need to administer your board and prevent libelous and incendiary attacks -- hearsay-- on posters.

Fresno St has played tougher OOC schedules in the past than this upcoming one and their SOS wasn't ANYWHERE NEAR high enough to land them in the NC game. The BCS computer polls will not do Fresno St any favors in their rankings b/c the WAC drags down the SOS way too much. This is nothing more than a WAC pipe-dream - on the same level of Hawaii actually being a great team last year.

For arguments sake lets say Fresno does run the table. If things play out like they did last year, I believe we would be playing in the NC game. Fresno state already has the credibility of playing the big boys. Now if things play out like they did when Utah went to their BCS bowl, you're right, #4 ranking at best for Fresno...

I said that we would "have a shot" at playing in the big game. How good a shot would depend upon how other teams did. If there were two other undefeateds from AQ conferences, almost certainly not. If there was one other undefeated and a couple of one loss AQ Conference schools, probably not. But if it was a year like last year, I wouldn't rule it out. Questions like how convincing our wins were would have to be addressed.

In your haste to minimize the WAC, you over reach. The WAC is weaker than the MWC -- but not that much weaker. To wit: Hawai'i made it despite a weak OOC schedule. Shouldn't have maybe but did. Give us a Top 10 ranking after our first four games -- which the LA Times and others say we would have if we were undefeated -- and go on to an undefeated season and we'd be ranked a lot higher than the anti-WAC crowd would like. Maybe not in the top two, but up there.

That said, I repeat -- it is highly unlikely.

I for one definitely would like to see you guys go undefeated, just to prove a Cal State U school could do it so we could rub our president's nose in it. Of course that's after we pull his head out of his a ss!

If fresno wins all of their games with that tough ooc and the teams they beat do well they could make the NC game. Look at last year with the 2 loss teams everywhere. The computers although ridiculous, will have them ranked #1. Wasnt TCU #1 in a computer poll in 2000 late in the season? Colley poll? or something like that?

Sounds like ESPN analysts don't seem to see the MWC as strong and almighty powerful as you do I guess if they feel 2 teams could run through the league undefeated.... On the other hand, Fresno State will only be on an ESPN owned broadcast about 5 times this upcoming season (ESPN, ESPN2 or ABC) so yea.... I guess they think that we will suck

Nice try to SPIN again nonbcs (did I tell you how much I love that handle).

Or maybe they seem to think that two of our teams are actually good enough to go undefetaed. You my freind are the spinster. Get over it you are getting some hype but nobody actually thinks you'll bust the BCS, heck I doubt many people think you'll win your conference, and we all know how tough that is.

No they just have little to no choices when it comes to putting WAC teams on the air. they have to feel spots after all, might as well show Fresno getting whooped a handful of times. anyway something tells me that they want to show Rutgers, UCLA, and wisconsin more then they want to show Fresno.

I hope you are really not that naive... I would think that after the last 4-5 years we all know how this media game is played... College Football writers and talking-heads have to pace themselves in the 6 month off-season.

One of the stock stories for the off-season is "Who will be the BCS buster this year?" However there is only enough "oxygen" for on predetermined non-BCS Cinderella per off-season. Last year it was Hawai'i the year before it was TCU (of course Boise became that team), etc. This off-season the anointed team in BYU. Like it or hate it BYU is going to be the team that most of the "who can crash the BCS party?" Columns are written about.

But, if you are a Fresno fan do not fear, after a summer of BYU bound for BSC articles we will see some pre-season articles with subjects like "Lost in the BYU talk is Fresno that looks loaded this year and poised for their own BCS run." That is just how the media game is played.

And sure as clockwork when these "counter-programing" stories are written you and other WAC-offs will be posting them here and preening like the pigeons you are.

Actually it is to Fresno's advantage if we "fly under the radar" so to speak. The people that know football know how strong our team is and how strong our schedule is. When we are in the spotlight, is when we tend to screw it up usually  So I like that BYU will be taking some of the attention off the so that the DOGS can handle business in the background, but hopefully we will gain momentum and the season progresses, and be there at the end.

Well little lady I am a BYU fan and you are the troll on this board. So do you want to go another round on why Wyoming has been more competative then Fresno for the past two years? I noticed you ran away the last time we went at it like a true little Doggy troll. By the way do you usually get a hard on over peoples handles or is it just me doggy boy?

Please doggy boy the reason BYU is the front runner is we have the schedule to get by with respect if we go undefeated and we actually look to have the team that can do it. Fresno isn't flying under any radar because we all know you'll be lucky to not lose at least two of your OOC games and at least 2 of your weak conferecne games.

Doggy boy you are a troll simple as that. I enjoy your type around here because you do what is excpected. You make an attempt to defend your sorry team or conference, you lose then you run lick your wounds only to come back and receive another beat down.

I don't see a 'BCS buster' this season. I think Byu and Utah will each have a hiccup by the time they face each other at season's end. Fresno may have as many as 4 losses this year.

Well there little fella, you are a BYU fan huh? I bet if it was Utah that was having the recent success, you would have been a Ute fan. Seems every conference has frontrunning bandwagon fans like you, oh well. About your continuing and insisting fascination with Boise State's and Wyoming's schedule in regards to Fresno State. Again, take notes and take a picture so that we won't have to keep going over this.

Entire MWC vs BSU 0-7 (This Includes Wyoming)

Fresno State vs. BSU 1-4

I don't believe in Moral Victories buddy, so a loss is a loss no matter how close. So since 03' (which is the year that both Fresno and MWC scheduled BSU in recent years) the MWC is 0-7 vs. BSU, while in the same time frame, Fresno is 1-4 vs. BSU. But again you don't seem to understand that. Show it to your parents, they may be able to help you make sense of it. Hopefully when you graduate, you will understand it.

By the way do you usually get a hard on over peoples handles or is it just me doggy boy?

No, only your handle amuses me, nonbcs.... I guess that says all I need to know about you little man, keep reaching for the stars....

That remains to be seen. I am not on here claiming that Fresno State will run the table, but I do think that we are considered one of the potential BCS busters. If you do not agree, you are a lot more dense than you come off on this here messageboard. And "conferecne" is spelled conference.

Nobody's licking anything little man. About beat downs, I guess you would know about those, I am sure you've seen the inside of lockers more often than you would like to remember. Do carry on though, however use spell check next time, so you sound a little more mature and people will take you more seriously.

First Doggytroll I am first and foremost a BYU fan I have always been a BYU fan since I was a child. I have worked directly with the team and still have strong connections. Bandwagon would be a term used to describe your fan affiliation with the doggy's. Second, I am a MWC fan and yes unlike WACoffs like you I can be both. So I have no problem ripping into BSU, Fresno, or that pathetic thing you play in called a conference. I can understand why me defending a MWC team from the likes of what appears to be more recently a weaker program like Fresno might give the insecure feeling that I may change affiliation since supporting your conference is usually not a priority of WACoffs and especially doggy fans but hey my conference isn't an embarrassment like yours so I can't blame you. Third, as far as Fresno's schedule compared to Fresno what is your point? Facts remain Wyoming has played the only related team that both of you have seen the past 2 years tougher then Fresno. This isn't comparing whose schedule is tougher it is comparing similar match-ups which Fresno has looked less impressive then Wyoming and that is a fact like it or not.

Nice comparisons now let
