Would it be in the MWC best interests to increase our entrance fees?

CUSA and the WAC aren't improving as much as they thought they would. The Wac is getting a little bit better, but every team in the WAC would leave that league in a nano-second if they go an invite in the mail.

Currently, the entrance fee is 1 million dollars. As time passes those seats in the MWC are becoming more and more valuable to teams stuck in the farm leagues.

Would it be a good idea to up the MWC entrance fee to 3 million, a price a desperate team like Fresno, Boise, or Utep could come up with if they had too?

I don't really see a point to increasing the entrance fee. I would only want to add a school that would increase our payouts form bowls and television contracts and I think that is where the money will be made, not in a one time entrance fee. I think we ought to have an entrance fee that is somewhere between the Big East and CUSA and closer to the Big East. Other than that I don't see a reason to stick it to new conference mate.

Any idea what the entrance fee to the Big East and CUSA?

Here we go, waiting for the flood gates to open up from the aforementioned conferences fans posts saying "MWC just being elitist snobs again".

this thread = troll baiting... OY VEA... hang on!

I believe the MWC should increase their fees. But it should be the exit fee's. It's a dying league and there's already talk of members leaving for greener pastures.

Well, if anyone has their finger on the pulse of the MWC, it's you Warbow. Thanks for the insight. <_<

Nothing to really say here.....except GO MWC!!

Entrance fees closer to the price of the Big East, a BCS conference? LMAO!!!

If an MWC school does not go to a BCS game this year the conference will be signifigantly downgraded in the eye of average Joe.

Should edit to read: any team that makes it to the BCS from a non-AQ must make a competitive showing, another azz shilacking does none of us any good, no matter what the payout.

No one believes they will get a BMW for the cost of a Kia. So if you want to be perceived to be a BMW you had better at least be priced about the same.

Whether the MWC is closer to the Big East than CUSA can and is debated on these boards all the time, but the least the MWC can do to give that perception is to price the entrance fee closer to the Big East than CUSA.

Entrance fee, for what?

The Best thing the MWC could do is knock out SDSU, Wyoming and the Low Blows.

That should save you guys some money for their pathetic performance on the football field.

Dypshyt loving dog,

UNM blanked your #7 in the nation offense the same nevada team that put up 67 points on Boise state, 41 on your dogs, and only lost to the wac embarrasment sugar bowl team hawaii by 2 points.

.

Wyoming did something that no wac team could do - put a beatdown on a ranked AQ team.

SDSU is san Diego and until Fresno penitentiary looks like San Diego then San Diego will always be the top dog destination, even for college conferences.

You were saying Ignorant one?

How did Fresno do in their last game against a MWC team? You can even make it a home game and you'd get the same result. How did that MWC finish in the conference that year?

I'm guessing Fresno is a creation of the conference you play in just like Boise. However, unlike Boise, you have no ground to walk on when it comes to smack talking the MWC. Probably a good reason why Fresno shouldn't be invited.

Go Pokes!!

What is Wyoming's bowl record over the years again and honest to god does Wyoming even play a decent schedule year in and out minus your so called "elite teams that you play from the MWC?

Last time I checked Wyoming is like a Little Neapolitan, big mouth and ego yet provides little results besides their supposed great "history."

Fresno State is playing Rutgers, Wisconsin, Toledo, and UCLA. I doubt your Brokeback Cowboys have the balls to play more than 2 decent BCS teams in a year away from your home. As far as your no ground to walk on comment, Fresno State receives just as much national press as Boise State. When Fresno State played MWC teams it won a majority of the time also like BSU. Sadly and it has been stated in the Fresno Bee that no one p-ssy MWC team wants to play us. (even us on the road)

I would put Fresno State up with any MWC team as a whole program. We aren't just a one hit wonder in football but excel in softball (ranked), baseball (leading the Wac), women's basketball (won the WAC and went to the NCAA's with a freshman team), women's tennis (ranked), etc... We would still compete quite well in the MWC too.

Oh but that's right Wyoming is the class of the MWC and can look down on Fresno State. HAHAHA, now that is funny

As for MWC schools scheduling Fresno State, what's the point. Other than establishing bragging rights it serves no purpose. There is little to gain from winning but a lot at stake if we lose. The MWC is already established as the best of the "other conferences" so we don't need to work on proving anything there. We need to focus on beating BCS opponents to prove that we can run with the big boys. I respect Fresno State and think they could be a pretty good fit for the MWC, but until they are added to the conference I hope our schools don't bother scheduling you.

Wow talk about a clueless post

We play at Tennessee this year and next year we are at CU and have texas at home. NO we are smart enough not to play three BCS teams on the road LOL we want them at home. SO should you DOH!!!!

Wyoming schedule well and I like the way we do it. We play BCS almost every year and we get them in our house.

We have home and home with Missouri, and Oregon as well and we are the only MWC or WAC team to host a SEC school. You get Texas to come to Fresno and then come talk about a schedule LOL

CJ is mouthy but your post is well clueless

BTW we have beaten UCLA have you?

I didn't expect to see any Wyoming fans talking schedule smack this year after ditching NMSU for a 1aa game at home. Somehow, I just can't see Fresno doing that. And yes, they've beaten UCLA, but they don't seem to consider it a signature win for their program. Anyway, Wyoming fans should stick to smacking on CSU.

Actually, I don't think we ditched NMSU at all. From what I understand, it was a scheduling issue. Sadly, that 1AA team would finish in the top half of the WAC anyway, so I think we've made our schudule tougher.

You're right, Fresno has beaten UCLA....ONCE in seven tries (and that was in their home town bowl). Maybe it is bigger win for them than you're willing to admit. Wyoming is 1-0 against the Bruins.

My question is, does Boise ever play a tough schedule? When your toughest games are against Wyoming, I think it is time to upgrade...oh wait, then your record wouldn't be that good.

They had us scheduled for Friday night. We asked them to move it to a mutually open Saturday date. They refused. End of story. We don't want any part of the Wac Friday Night Game of the Week.
