  1. IIRC the Montana schools wanted SUU out badly. They would also be happy if Northern Colorado left. So, I'd have to agree with you. If the Big Sky gets raided by the Mountain West, then Utah Tech and Southern Utah will probably be the first schools picked. However, I wonder if the Texas exodus from the WAC is not done yet? If that's the case I don't see any other choice for the WAC than pulling up from Division II. Central Washington, Western Oregon, Western Washington, Metro St, Colorado Mesa and Colorado State-Pueblo would give a good mix of Football and non-Football schools go to with Seattle, Cal-Baptist, Grand Canyon, Utah Valley, Utah Tech and Southern Utah.
  2. It's nice to want things. But this one isn't happening.
  3. I have zero interest in watching. I've never watched any of the past "championship games".
  4. In actual conference news, former WAC member Chicago State will be joining the Northeast Conference. I always thought that having a team so far outside of the league footprint would create issues. Another reason I think that any news report mentioning the Dakotas and the Mountain West as just clickbait. Windy City Welcome: Chicago State Roars Into NEC - Northeast Conference
  5. Isn't there already a MiBL team in Sacramento?
  6. What's the over/under on this thing making it to year two?
  7. He's still waiting for the SEC to realize that they need to invite the Bizons before the NFL does.
  8. If we go beyond W/OSU for expansion it should be some AAC schools first.
  9. One of the biggest Utah sports radio stations this morning was talking about the U president wanting $50/mil. They took it very seriously.
  10. They are probably using a mobile weather app that tracks the lightning hits within 5 miles of the device. My wife has the same app on her phone as an employee of the city rec department. She has to clear the field and send everyone to their cars for 30 minutes if it detects a nearby strike. We were at an outdoor concert last month when her phone went off about a lightning strike. Ten seconds later we all got the announcement to leave the arena. I think it gave Stephen Pearcy (the former lead singer of RATT) more time to drink before he came out on stage. It made for a very "interesting" performance. I was watching the MWDN feed for the game when the strike was announced. The announcers also commented that they hadn't seen anything, but they were only looking in one direction.
  11. Where is this attention? Other than a brief blip on the radar when the NIT run happened, I've noticed that UVU is usually ignored in the Utah sports media and market. Utah Tech has received more press along the Wasatch Front after they became FCS and started scheduling BYU and other schools. I recall a year ago talking to a UVU student. When I brough up sports, he shrugged and said, "we have teams?" Most UVU students are kids who couldn't get into BYU and still hope to transfer over later. If Utah Valley announced a football team, then I could see there being more interest from the general population. When UVU was looking at getting out of the Great West (no auto bid to post season tournaments) and into the Big Sky, they were looking at adding a football team. But now that it is no longer needed, they have no plan$ to do so.
  12. I don't think the Buffalo Bisons want to leave the AAA International League.
  13. There will be about 8 schools in front of the Dakotas. We've mentioned this before.
