  1. Coastal folks are always in love with shoving UTEP and NMSU down the throats of the Mountain folks. Just stop. We don't want 'em. UTEP may be technically in Texas, but face it, they're in New Mexico. NMSU is definitely in New Mexico. Have you looked at New Mexico demographics lately? UNM handles that state just fine, no need to add more mouths down there. I have more interest in Scott City CC than those two.
  2. Yes, they were talking about SDSU prior to last year, and I heard nothing but praise during their Natty attempt. Did not see SDSU as legitimately on the same level as UConn, but were excited about them and it's growing. We're talking about the face of MWC BB, not the face of college BB overall. SDSU represents and we are all bringing cred. Just gotta' keep it up.
  3. Texas State I'm good with. If we need two Texas schools to make it work then get UTSA, not UTEP. Still firm that the less impressive (media wise) schools from Montana would be a better add. Rabid fanbases that would really step up if they went MWC.
  4. Yes. It's been quite a while but at one time the UNM prez (or maybe AD) stated that with all due respect to UTEP, they weren't a good add for the MWC.
  5. They watch SDSU. Believe me, they watch SDSU. The talking heads like to prattle on about the MWC (at least this last season), and they talk SDSU, USU, CSU, UNM, etc. I've heard them mention that even UNLV can be dangerous. Not the face of the conference anymore. That lies in San Diego.
  6. And if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle. So what.
  7. Yeah, totally agree. UNLV is the face of the conference. Gimme a break.
  8. Not liking that split or even necessarily those additions. I'd much prefer to keep USU in a division with CSU and Wyoming. I realize it's small time thinking, but I'd also prefer the Montana schools over Memphis and Tulane. Good additions, but Texas is about as far east as I want to go. I feel like we need to maintain some regionality.
  9. Exactly. I'm fine with Hawaii being part of the MWC TV revenue, but only if they're part of the MWC TV broadcast package. Gonna' be a lot of streaming going on in the future. I hope I'm not paying for one app to watch the rest of MWC football, and paying for another to see Hawaii games. Less of a problem honestly than the streaming quality. Currently each home school produces the game for TheMWC TV app, much like the home school does the production for ESPN+. In both cases there is some almost unwatchable content out there. I don't care about ESPN+ and hope we don't end up there, but regardless of the app every school in the MWC needs to step up their production quality. Some more than others, but none of us are doing it the level we should be. That needs to be addressed in any new conference set up when we get there.
  10. The next TV deal will be extremely heavy on streaming instead of TV anyway. Streaming, realignment...buckle up. Nothing is going to look the same.
  11. Actually, as I understand it, Hawaii gets the PPV $$, plus a MWC share. If the PPV doesn't come to as much income as the rest of the conference gets, the MWC makes up the difference. If the PPV exceeds the general MWC share, Hawaii keeps it all. I'd be fine with this if games were televised in mainland MWC regions, but they're not.
  12. Not really. I like Hawaii, and would love to see their VB in the conference, but the travel. Yes, it's a real issue. Maybe not for the coastal schools so much, but ex-CSU AD's have made a point of complaining about the Hawaii travel for football. Jack Graham stated that it wasn't fair to the students and he hated it. I don't see it getting better when you throw in BB, VB, Softball, Track, etc. Too much travel in the AAC was part of what led to CSU turning their offer down, Hawaii certainly isn't closer.
  13. Skip the programs, just bring some top notch women.
  14. Dutch is the best out there right now, but there's no telling if he could be where he is without the groundwork Fish laid (from the ground up). Gotta' go with Steve Fisher. The best this conference has seen. MWC coaches know that he set the standard, the conference is only better because they strive to achieve that standard.
  15. Never underestimate revenge. Aztecs will show up and give 'em hell. Count on it. That's all you can ask.
