  1. Otters been a family friend for a long time, but his last 4 years has been really out of touch. I think a large part of it is how much our society has changed and he's stayed the same.
  2. My kids are horrible people holding my wife back from inevitable success. This is true. My son kicked a kid in the face yesterday and his teacher. I'm thinking about waking him up with a hammer right now. #womenfolkproblems
  3. nancydrew is making up for the lacking of boisefan and UNLV2001.
  4. Another U.S. natural disaster, school shooting, terrorist attack, missing flight......something. We're due. It's coming. If you live near tall buildings, I'd put a helmet on. It's been too quiet for far too long. The media is chomping at the bit for something too. They want it soooo bad they can taste it. Calling it right now. And Russia and Trump will be behind it. Okay, maybe not this, but his response will be 100% ridiculed and 0% praised by The Young Turks. Another celebrity death is coming soon too. Can't forget about the celebrities. I give it 7-10 days. It's tornado season.
  5. Because the world's best debaters always start with, "you +++++ing moron". Since when is not being a jackass "dishonest"? You make great points, but you land on deaf ears when you start with an immediate insult. And now there is no way to get someone to see your pov. I totally agree with the capitalist society having the greatest innovations and lowest costs. And not all government needs to be removed.
  6. I like your comment, but c'mon man. Show some class, this is highly inappropriate and every single one of us is going to have differing opinions based on our experiences.
  7. I thought you studied the Bible. I'm kidding now. Hey happy, have a good weekend
  8. Faster than Tom Bodett with Motel 6's light.
  9. Sure, and somehow staying at a Holiday Inn makes it super duper valid too. It's FTL when you can broaden your base and move your target.
  10. Your knowledge of the scripture is soooooo deep. Get real happy, you've completely contradicted scripture.
  11. You're right, Jesus was a liberal who indulged in government by not indulging in government, who wanted government to provide "free" healthcare, who meant to say "do resist" when He really said "do not resist".... You're also right that America's "poor" aren't given food, care, housing, and they definitely don't have high speed internet, vehicles, gaming systems, cell phones, etc, and when you compare them to other Americans, they are not doing well. And wanting to weed out those who do have all this to help the real poor is heartless. AND instead of offering help to those in need, we should all just pay higher taxes, after all they're the exact same as tithes. Instead of turning away applicants who admittedly don't want jobs, and they just want their EBT qualifications by "signing here" to prove they're looking for work, I should also throw them a $100 for being poor. You're also right that me telling my dead-beat brother-in-law to get his shit together after we gave him a job, free rent, a car is just not empathetic enough, I should also be excited about his $13k he just received from taxes that's sitting on a craps table in Las Vegas right now. You're also correct in saying that voting for Democrats is a "good works" move, and super duper helpful. You're also right in using the adjective definition "liking something new" makes Jesus a liberal (<---noun) along with 100% of us. Hitler was also a liberal (I hate using this as any example). You're also right that Pagans were also Jews, and there was no difference. You're also right that being a Republic and deciding that welfare tax is the same as a tithe even though the 49.5% are receivers of some form of welfare and are voters of such. You're right, I don't understand the world as you've painted it.
  12. Instead of getting bureaucrats involved, shouldn't we be kicking them out? I look at the private fields that allow more competition, and the service, cost, and quality outperforms the highly regulated fields. Lasik surgery for example, it's not covered by insurance, the regulations are lower. 15 years ago it cost $11,500/eye and had a long waiting list because there weren't a lot of Dr.s to to get it done. A couple years ago I did Lasik surgery for <$700/eye, and had it done within 10 days of consultation only because I did it out of town and was in and out within 24hrs with no overnight stay. There's also a pile of doctors to do it. There's also a pile of small care clinics popping up and they will do a lot of smaller services from stitches to scripts for minor illness. My local hospital is the worst example to use, but you can be home in bed before our ER gets you out of the waiting room. Marijuana industry is another. Insurances won't cover it, but it's more available than it's counterparts, the quality and service has improved, and the immediate access to doctors has gotten competitive and results are posted on billboards everywhere. I have a hard time believing that government involvement is going to improve anything. There are very few places where they've proven themselves worthy. Just something to think about. Not looking for a fired up argument, but I want to hear from you.
  13. My point had been Jesus is apolitical and wants the church to be out of state government. Thus tying Him to anything political such as the stupid argument that He's somehow a liberal is redundant. Nobodyis against helping people in need. The only argument is that we've over done it and the abuse needs to stop.... America's "poor" is doing REALLY well right now. And there you go again, trying to claim that welfare qualify as works and donation. And Jesus wasn't for new things. His ideas were new to others, but He never opened to a "new idea" brought to Him from someone else. He is actually a rock in His views and not accepting to others'. In that very sense, He is the exact opposite of being into new things. You can call his ideas new to the world, but he was staunch on where He stood.
  14. Rome did have Jewish Kings serving under their umbrella. But the point Jesus made was to not combine the two. Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's.... When liberals find how all the doctors will work for free, you can have that. FREE is dependent on the giver, not the receiver. He was liberal in the sense that He brought a New Covenant using the OT. but if that's your definition of liberal, it's pretty weak. And still wouldn't label Him as a liberal today. Poor in spirit, not poor. Nobody is conflating poor and lazy. Liberalism rewards the lazy though. This is why doing works is more important than enforcing taxes. None of those stories are about shaming your master and residing, they're literally the opposite of that. It's about loving your enemy. I'm not saying he's conservative, I'm not stupid enough to make that claim. Define liberal. You can broaden the swath to win your argument by picking and choosing from the many definitions.
