  1. You can find BYU's financials on the US Department of Education website, just like all the other schools. You can drop this odd conspiracy theory. It's just normal business goofball.
  2. Before you assume what people do or do not know, you might want to go back and read this monster thread. You've been here 10 minutes acting like you know it all. Everything you've typed has already been discussed in great detail. I've stayed out of the P2/MWC stuff. But your traitor comment smells of sour grapes.
  3. I don't think @robe understands how an athletic budget works. Anything Ryan Smith or any other booster gives to the program falls under donations, which can be a big part of gross revenue. BYU still pays the bills. The fact that BYU mentioned Smith had a part in this only shows their gratitude for Smith. And honestly, he probably used his NBA sources and pull to get this done. Nothing wrong with that.
  4. Seating capacity and bad sightlines of the Delta Center have already been discussed a few pages ago. The point is temporary. Anything is better than their current college shitbox that holds 5K or whatever it is. My point is, there will proper support and resources for this team in SLC. And you can bank it that the new arena will be full for this team as well. The Jazz are terrible this year and still averaged close to 100% capacity.
  5. BYU is in the national picture now no matter where the money comes from. Having big boosters pony up is all part of the ballgame.
  6. You will see packed houses from day 1. Ryan Smith won't take 30 years to build a new arena like the current owner of The Coyotes. I think you'll see legit water colors and financial backing by the end of the year or 1st quarter 2025. The more I read about the current situation in PHX, the more I think it was a good time for them to move. Many owners and lack of progress on getting shit done. I don't think The Coyotes have ever been to the playoffs. In 30 years? yikes.
  7. There's a reason I don't ask you legit questions about BYU. You are a moron with reading comprehension problems. I never said they opened the flood gates. Go read again, this time use your good eye.
  8. So now that we've established that BYU is out of their norm on this hire, what are your thoughts on future recruiting and the honor code? From what I know, BYU players don't have to be LDS to play there but they do have to follow the honor code, correct? Obviously this hinders some good athletes coming to town. BYU hoops has pretty much been a bunch of pasty white shooters with limited athletic ability for the most part. There have been exceptions. I don't think BYU will open the flood gates on people coming through the door but I wonder if this move will soften some things on recruiting? My thoughts are you don't pay a coach this kinda money to have one hand strapped behind his back on getting good players in there. There's some good LDS athletes out there but probably not enough to get BYU to the top of the B12 and deep into tourneys. Clearly Holmoe said, we are playing ball now.
  9. Wow. I've always called BYU cheap for not paying coaches and it's been true. Hats off to Tom for opening the wallet. That's big boy cash. I almost wonder if it's too much for an unproven coach in college? This also sends a message to the rest of college athletics. BYU is open for business on coaches at market value. I think Sitake better get the ship turned around soon..
  10. Only you view it as talking shit. What I said was completely honest and factual. I simply told you that it was pretty much a no win situation for the P12. It wasn't a dig at WSU. You're the one talking shit calling schools traitors. BTW, I pretty much agreed with 95% of your original post about moving forward.
  11. I realize you folks are having a hard time with your new G5 Status and are bitter about what happened but unfortunately this is the new way of business in college sports. It’s not good for fans.
  12. Clearly you’re new here. Lol. How many P12 championships does WSU have? If we were mediocre, what does that make your squad?
  13. Traitorous 10? Did you really expect the valuable schools to stick around for $22 mill per year with Apple? There were so many mistakes, so many egos, so many problems and wrong turns along the way. I don’t think there are any exceptions on schools either. I was 100% on board to keep the P12 together but at the end, it just wasn’t in the cards. The only reason you call the rest traitors is because WSU wasn’t wanted by a power league and were left hung out to dry. You wouldn’t be saying that if WSU’s name was called.
  14. I just worry they would hire unlicensed and shady contractors again trying to cut illegal corners. This school is going to get people hurt. Unfortunately.
