Welcome to SDSU...Bobby Hauck!?!

With Hauck joining the coaching staff, the Aztecs now have two former UNLV head coaches on staff.

(Jeff Horton is offensive coordinator, Hauck is special teams coordinator)

IIRC, SDSU didn't have a ST coordinator this past year-(can someone correct me If I'm wrong on that?)

Edit: Let the sloppy seconds jokes commence!

"Finally we decided it's crazy that we can win games by throwing the ball without the best personnel. So we threw the hell out  of the ball and won some games. When we started doing that, we were like 55–5–1."

 Don Coryell, head coach 1961-1972

104 wins, 19 losses, 2 ties including 3 undefeated seasons: 1966, 1968, 1969     College Football Hall of Fame Inductee, 1999

Did Rocky Long not watch any game film on UNLV the past 4 years? ST was easily the worst unit out of 3 moderately to really bad units.

He knows better than to watch tape of a program that is always bad, regardless of coach.

Say what you want about the quote, but Sanford was dead on about the facilities impacting wins and losses as facilities impact recruiting.

UNLV does not have great facilities, but we do have facilities that are similar to the schools we recruit against.  Our lockerrooms have absolutely nothing to do with the litany of bad hires and guys who simply were not good head coaches.  Since 1990, only Sanford has gone on to another HC job and that is in FCS.  No other ex-UNLV coach has gotten a D1 HC job after they left.  Ever.  There is a reason for that.  Not saying we can't or shouldn't improve on things, but the blame really needs to be directed at the impossibly stupid bad hires. Now if we had an actual good coach like say Dennis Fran or Sonny Dykes (two guys who WANTED to coach at UNLV but were rejected) come through UNLV and fail, then that is another story.

He won at Montana because he brought a lot of inner city gangstas up there.  The locals were torn between wanting a winning program versus having to lock their doors.  True story.

John Robinson?

And BTW, your facilities are in the bottom third of the conference. Evven CSEwe's 70-yard IPF and crumbling stadium is a step up from UNLV.
