If we run the table and win our conference and Marshall and ECU lose their championship games; we're in. It's that simple; well, obviously not, but as long as both of those teams lose somewhere along the way, it appears that way. Big "if" of course. It could happen but you also need CSU to run the table. We would be your best win and higher ranked via the computers. But seriously, IF CSU beats SJSU, I hope they go all of the way. I don't think it will be easy for CSU by any stretch, and I think SJSU will be a team that will make it a challenge. We're not looking for the easy road, we're looking for a shot. SDSU is the team I want to face in the CCG if we can get there. I'm not sure we'd be looking at SDSU though, UNR is the best team in the west IMO. Acess to the CCG, home field advantage for the CCG, a shot at the access bowl? Who in the world thought this system would make the regular season less interesting? Even the teams out of the race (most of us) are playing for the best bowl they can get. How is it fair for a 2-loss MWC team to get in the access bowl only because it was "champion" of the MWC? Or how about an 8-5 Wisconsin team going to the Rose Bowl? These conference tie-ins are ridiculous, as are the inconsistent ways to determine the champ. Does anyone really think USU deserved to be in last year's MWC CCG ahead of Boysee? On the other hand, if you go with straight record and SOS, then there is more subjectivity in deciding who gets to go. But at least it is arguably more meritorious in rewarding those who have challenged themselves with a strong schedule and still had a strong record. Somewhere between the two, last I checked......that's "reality", not a "theory". I want to make winning our respective conferences mean more than just going to the Vegas Bowl to play #8 Pac12 team. Plus, the extra 3 games the two weekends after CCG weekend, when there isn't college football, would be nice. Makes the regular season conference games more important.
