Not able to go to many MLB games, but I go on occasion. Check out this Giants ticket stub, and yes, I was there. Kudus to whoever knows what happened at this game. Paid $100 for this ticket.

That game never happened as all baseball games were suspended until 9/17 due to the terrorist attacks on 9/11. That was the day Selig announced baseball would resume on the 17th.

My 18th birthday was 9/11/01 so all the events surrounding that day are burnt into my memory.

keep digging boys, but you are on the right track.

I give up. I thought it may have had something to do with Barry Bonds but he didn't tie the home run record until October.

Yep. This was the game that he hit #71 and #72. This 3 game series with the Dodgers was rescheduled to the last 3 games of the season in October.  This game was played October 5th, but this ticket is the actual ticket stub used to get into the game.  I'm trying to find some of my pics from the game.  If I do, I'll post one or two.  2nd home run would have hit me in the face if it had gone about 4 more rows back.

Oh nice. I forgot that they had moved that game to the end of the season.

if the Royals are going to win the Series, someone other than James Shields will have to go at least six innings in their start.

Giants can't lose a Bumgarner start, I don't think. Bumgarner v. Shields is the Giants' biggest on-field advantage. (Bochy v. Yost is their other significant advantage.) If the Giants win both of Bumgarner's turns I think they win in 5 games. If the Giants lose Game 1, Royals in 6 or 7.

Of course, I am hopelessly biased. I have tickets to Game 5, so there is reason I am hoping the Giants close it out in 5.

Are you sure a turn was necessary?
