  1. I hope it is the dark horse even if that is a Native American coach named Dark Horse.
  2. It is a tough spot for the NCAA. For attendance purposes, they want the first two rounds at campus sites. I guess they could have flipped Gonzaga and Utah, but in their eyes Gonzaga earned the right to host. I was on a committee the other day where we were discussing the same thing. Lincoln is going to bid on hosting NCAa games in 28 or 29, but we really don’t have a second arena that could be used to host the women if they earn it.
  3. I realize it doesn’t really matter for the story, but why weren’t they staying in Spokane?
  4. How much do you think the MWC will charge Washington State and Oregon State to join?
  5. As much as I would like to select Fisher, it would be tough for me to vote for someone when their coaching career's peak was in its sixth game and then he coached another 26 years without ever hitting that peak again with his own roster.
  6. It might be a very disappointing life for Coach Alford over those 30 years.. He never coached a player that was a better player in college than he was. He never coached a team that was as good as his college team.
  7. NCAA allegations serious enough to get him a five year show cause penalty.
  8. I was looking for Musselman on this list too. He was only in the conference for 4 years (so far), but he took over a terrible team and led them to three conference titles in his four seasons.
  9. Nope, West Virginia hired Darian DeVries from Drake.
  10. Despite their record, they were seeded about right. For whatever reason, the MWC just isn’t very good in women’s basketball. It used to be a pretty good conference that earned at large bids. Once BYU, TCU and Utah left, that all seemed to stop. Women’s basketball is on the rise all over the country. It is time for the MWC to step up.
  11. Isn’t Grand Canyon a national diploma mill? They probably have students in every state.
  12. They changed the NIT rules to let power conference teams host games, but they forgot to ask them if they even wanted to be in the tournament.
  13. Maybe it did, but that probably wasn’t his plan.
