Dwight Smith is leaving the CSU hoops program

Recommended Posts

He'll graduate in the Spring and have one year of eligibility remaining. He saved his best for last, going for 21 and 8 against Utah State in the MWC Tourney. Dwight's first career start was against Duke at Cameron.

They were even before Dwight announced he was leaving. They now have one open scholarship.

I wonder if Dwight likes green chile.

I know I could look it up, but how big is Smith....is he a three?

Or four?

UNM is looking for fifth year transfers that can contribute.

He will be a good pick up for someone.

Your administration is the reason why our basketball league is bleeding out currently. If you didn't insist on San Jose being in the MWC, so you guys would have someone that votes similar to SDSU, every team in the MWC wouldn't have to play 2 games vs. a team with a 330 RPI ranking EVERY season.

You guys are as stupid as you are desperate.   - Cowboy Junky

Makes me wonder if we'll add a grad transfer.

Could happen.  I doubt Dwight transfers anywhere unless he feels he's got a good shot at starting.  I don't know if that would be the case at New Mexico or not.

He's a 2/3. I'm guessing Nebraska-Omaha (he's from the Omaha area) or maybe South Dakota who are now coached by former CSU assistant Craig Smith.

Is he good enough to go to NU? I know NU is down some guys. I think they have plenty of 3s though.

I wondered about that.

I also wonder if it applies to graduates with eligibility.

The school has the ability to deny a player any school he wants to transfer to if they so choose to do that, and the MW has its own rules dealing with in conference transfers.

Pretty sure graduate xfer doesn't have same rules. Only rule I know is the school they are xfer ring too has to have a graduate program current school doesn't offer.

That not what Verbal Commits thinks. See link below. How do they have it wrong?

http://www.verbalcommits.com/schools/colorado-state

They think after Smith leaves you will still be at 15 (+2) for next year.

They have CSU 2014-2015 as:

6 Seniors

4 Juniors

2 Sophomores

3 Freshmen

---------------

15

SDSU has had 5 upper half NCAA berths in a row.

Are the differences. You explained that the bottom 2 are going to prep school. But what is the story on Enrico Bueno?

SDSU has had 5 upper half NCAA berths in a row.

Bueno is a walk-on... their site must have it wrong.
