LOBOS WIN!!!

72-71

What a great game, could only listen but I'm not sure why the Utah player went to the basket win they were down by 3, the 2 did them no good. I feel very fortunate that the Lobos won the game. Snaps a 18-game losing streak at Utah!

Now go call Direct TV and get the Mtn just in time for football season!

You're missing out man!

It was an intense game to watch. I wish Kepkay was better at math though. Doesn't make sense putting up that 2 pt shot with 3 seconds left in the game. Actually I'm glad that Kepkay can't add because I was pulling for UNM. They hadn't won at the Huntsman Center in 17+ years so great win for the Lobos.

One thing that disturbed me was the amount of whining from Boylen towards the refs whenever a foul was called against the Utes. There wasn't a big discrepancy in fouls between the two teams yet Boylen kept screaming at the officials. I believe Boylen is a great coach and will do great things for the Utes, but he needs to remember that he is a rookie coach. He is new to head coaching and to this league, and there's nothing that he's done yet that should make him feel like he has the right to come into the MWC and get on the officials so much. If he keeps it up he's going to have a lot of refs in this league who lose respect for him. He is such a nice guy before the game and I've noticed that he personally shakes hands with each official and has his players do the same during warmups. However, I think he needs to carry that respect into the actual game and assume once in awhile that the refs are doing their best. Other than that, it was a fun game to watch and Boylen's intensity, when directed towards the right people, can be a big asset.

Wow... thank you SO much for your incredible insight! It's very generous of you to give such wonderful, deep advice to coach Boylen and remind him he's a "rookie" coach. I agree, he has no right to come into the MWC and get on the officials so much. You should make sure to email or call him to let him know the refs will lose respect for him if he doesn't pull back on the reigns and know that the refs are doing their best. Be sure to tell him 20 years of coaching in the NBA & NCAA gives him no right to act like he did.

You are a true coog. Thanks for being there for the refs, MWC and all who grace this board.
