  1. Congrats Utah State, Great game. Very glad some teams are moving on and with one less Big XII team too.
  2. Best of luck blue Aggies, This is another contrasting styles match-up: Keep TCU in front of you, hit a decent clip, protect the basketball. From there the aggies can make good things happen.
  3. When everyone and their mother is picking one team to do something, watch out. Screw the hype. There's somebody making a lot of money on the other side. The 11s in this tourney have done very well. Oakland surprised as well. Basically very little from the media has gone the way calculated risk, pragmatic predictions have gone: McNeese State, Morehead St., Drake, anyone fishing for a Cinderella has missed.
  4. Stick a fork in them. UNM needed to dictate their style of play and Clemson is far more organized than the Lobos athletic improv. Clemson is okay, they're a good team, but UNM completely loses their identity when they face opponents they're not familiar with. It's a problem. They're worried about what they're doing playing an unfamiliar team when they should be focusing on running their system well. They become fish out of water and lose their poise. For this reason UNM fits the non-power 5 top-heavy team profile cliché in these tournaments when they have far more athletic prowess than someone from the Big Sky/Southland/MAC. They don't get calls, they get down in a hole, they get 1-2'd, they get rattled and they go home. When UNM gets into the flow of the game they start to reappear. By that time, UNM is in a position to be at arms' length. Toughness? Where are you? Clemson is punching back when UNM shows a pulse and is in complete control of this game.
  5. The only half that matters is the 2nd. Time to take some risks, time to get Dent going and time to REBOUND. Nelly needs to stick to Hall like a plunger and clamp down on both Clemson guards.
  6. Congrats Aztecs, Way to hold on and win closely. Like you know how to do. Go frustrate and grind down Auburn. Best of luck.
  7. Clemson is sitting in the paint and taking guard slashing/offensive rebounds/assists away. New Mexico can play with these guys but they're going to have to get in their face defensively and remember their assignments. UNM is too concerned worrying about Clemson and not about what they're capable of. When UNM remembers playing with pace and creating turnovers they show flashes.
  8. Run. Swarm. Scoop. Dagger. Today is all about you and no one else. Give them hell Lobos.
  9. ...and all the money is going to Washington St. and Oregon State anyway. WSU v. Drake was very close. Drake got shaky at the end and folded. CU v. Boise was a grind out game that the Broncos were in the entire time. CU now has a four guard Florida with an injured center...and they still might have to keep up. Arizona has not been challenged, at all. The ONE team I'll give credit at this point: Oregon. Running around and through South Carolina was rather impressive and unexpected.
  10. Good luck Aztecs, Currently creating turnovers and UAB doesn't have an answer for LeDee. UAB's leading scorer has 3 fouls in the 1st half. Smother. Good job.
  11. Good game Rams, Came back and made a game of it, just far too many turnovers in a grind-out game. Texas flexed an extra inch here and there and there's no shame in staying right there with them. Good season. Good job.
  12. If Alford is sandbagging, throw the book at him.
  13. Nice season Nevada, It will take the entire off-season to cope with this massive collapse. Forgetting out to play basketball for 12 minutes, while up by 17 points, flat footed, lazy passes and general malaise...I've never seen anything like it. Normally I say good game. You had your crowd with you. No. That was astoundingly not. Charles Barkley: "They BLEW that game. They didn't deserve to win."
  14. BYU couldn't hit a 3 to save their life and didn't have a pure PG like Duquesne did. I don't think anyone saw them coming. No transitive property here, Nevada can beat a lot of people when they're on.
  15. Go get them Nevada, MWC west regional Sweet 16. I admittedly haven't watched a lot of Dayton but the Wolfpack has done some good things this year. Good luck.
