  1. Yeah it's ridiculous arguments he's making. It's like us talking trash to Gonzaga fans because we beat Arizona, UCLA, and BYU.... Sorry, but those wins don't change the a## raping we got from Gonzaga, just like BYU's games against Gonzaga doesn't change the a## raping they got in Salt Lake. If a Gonzaga fan talks trash, not much I can say. They owned us when it counted most. But a BYU fan talking trash because of Gonzaga's win and their stellar 2 win home performance in the tournament of winning-est losers... Well all I can do is laugh.
  2. Like I said, the way Emery had been shooting, even as a Utah fan it was nice to see him hit something. NIT Champs, a good ten steps below a first four game of the NCAA tournament. But with the state of BYU's program, it is something to shoot for, no doubt. Maybe they'll give you a shiny blue ribbon if you win.
  3. Lol, you are going to brag because you won two home games in the NIT... I almost don't know how to respond to this as it is so pathetic... There isn't an athlete or coach in the world, that would choose BYU's postseason against Utah's this year, even including the blowout against Gonzaga. I could cite 6 degrees of separation "facts" just like you. We swept Colorado who beat you. We beat CAL 2/3 who beat St Mary's who beat you. We swept both UCLA and Arizona who both beat Gonzaga who beat you... I could make all those meaningless arguments that you just made... but instead I will just go with the facts Utah beat BYU in one of their easiest wins of the season. Its nice to know that just like Van Noy in football, all the lone peak guys like Emery and Mika will go their entire career without ever experiencing a win against my Utes. I'm glad Emery hit Taylor, the way he was shooting that night it was nice to see him finally hit something.
  4. Agreed... I just think its funny what a big deal BYU fans make about our coach calling us the Pac-12 south co-champs considering he is technically right. And that several non Utah sports sites like ESPN have done the same.
  5. Again, if BYU is the 3rd best team in the WCC, yeah, the conference sucks.
  6. I always think its funny that BYU fans mock that Utah calls themselves the Pac-12 south co-champs, considering that is what they were. ESPN calls us Pac-12 south co-champs, the Pac-12 considers us the Pac-12 co-champs. In the history of the sport, those who finish tied at the top of the division have always been considered co-champs. Tiebreakers happen for title games and bowls, but in the eyes of all conference and all sporting publications that have existed ever, they are considered division co-champs. "Utah finished as co-South champ and was in the hunt for a spot in the conference title game up until the last couple of weeks." http://espn.go.com/blog/pac12/post/_/id/96405/utah-season-review-utes-make-gains-in-south-division "Except for the Utes taking a piece of that South title, and booking that best-ever finish in the Pac-12." http://www.sltrib.com/sports/3232864-155/monson-winning-now-is-enough-for
  7. They only have 7,000 enrollment... If say Few retires and Gonzaga falls off the map, an arena might be empty. Before Few arrived and Gonzaga became "Gonzaga", Gonzaga was drawing 3000 per game. Even well into Few's tenure, they were not drawing anywhere near 6000
  8. You're right...Home and Road absolutely makes a difference. But BYU was one of the weaker teams my Utes played this season. At no point in the game was I nervous, which is rare in a rivalry game in which I am usually sweating bullets. Utah had a 19 point lead with under two minutes to play, BYU just scored a bunch of garbage points after the game had long been decided that made the final score look a bit competitive at 8 points. Have a hard time thinking the Marriott center would have made a difference, I think it would have been the same results as last year when the Utes played in the Marriott center. A more competitive game, but still a Utah win. But who knows, maybe it would have changed the result. I'm not going to be like some on this thread have, and claim definitely to know answers on games not played. Heck some even claimed definitely the wrong answer on games that had already been played. But in the end, against the Pac-12, the top 3 in the WCC not only had a losing record on the road, but they also had a losing record at home. They were however 2-0 at neutral sites.
  9. Well lucky for you, many of those games already happened---let's look at them (Gonzaga and St. Marry's tied for best record in WCC, and Cal and Arizona tied for 3rd best record in the Pac-12) #3 CAL(tie) beat #1(tie) St. Mary's #2 Utah beat #3 BYU #3 Arizona (tie) beat #1(tie) Gonzaga #1 (tie) Gonzaga beat #2 Utah So the teams at the top of the Pac-12 went 3-1 this year against the top 3 in the WCC What other baloney do you want to throw out there...
  10. Why is that the least bit relevant when talking about tournament resume? If we were talking about why Gonzaga is better now then they were then, you would have a point. But that literally has nothing to do with the discussion. Even if they had won those games, it still does not fix St. Mary's issues---playing in an ultra weak conference, and still choosing to go out and schedule cream puffs in non-conference. When this years BYU team is the third best team in the conference---sorry, but that is one weak ass conference and you need to go out and play a decent non-conference schedule. (Hey, I just gave you an opening where you can talk about BYU's awesome showing in the No one cares tournament.) St. Mary's is the least deserving bubble team in the last decade of the tournament.
  11. My point is, St Mary's had no issue having teams come to their place for 1 and done's, why are they so opposed to do it themselves? If they would have gone on the road for say three 1 and done's against quality opponents, they would have still had the vast majority of their games at home. Last year Utah played Kansas in a "neutral" site game in Kansas. This year we played Duke in New York, and Duke might have more fans in New York than the state in which they play. Even St. Mary's fans complain about coach Bennett's scheduling philosophy. And the edge St. Mary's has over a school like Utah State, is they are in California a stone's throw from Oakland.... It is the same reason why our football team scheduled a home and home with San Jose State... Coaches love to play in California for recruiting purposes. This was not a case of we can't get anyone to play us. This was a case of not wanting to play anyone. Which is fine, my Utes did that a few years ago as it is what we needed as we were rebuilding, but come tournament selection time it killed us just like it killed St. Mary's If you play in a mid-major conference and play a cupcake non-conference schedule by CHOICE, you must also realize that you need to win your conference tourney as the only way of getting into the dance. My Utes proved that even if you play in a major conference, if you play only horrible teams at home in the non-conference you won't get in. And for the record, as a Utah fan I personally would love to play both Utah State and Weber State in home and homes in basketball. I use to feel the same way about BYU, but after the shenanigans the Utah legislators are pulling (trying to force a public institution to play a private institution)---I hope that rivalry ends in all sports.
  12. BS.... I gave an opinion. I never claimed that Rose told me he was leaving. But keep ringing that bell years later as it is all you got. Oh that, and when you post "idiot" when you have no other response. At least Abyhe can defend himself. Having an argument with you, I always feel bad as it is obvious you are not the sharpest tool in the tool box. This would be a perfect time for you to post "idiot"
  13. Are you still talking about your relative who held the Utah scoring record, that according to you was broke by someone who never actually held the scoring record? My sentence structure may suck, but at least I am not a flat out liar.
  14. Reading Comprehension issues much.... I did not defend the Pac-12, and clearly stated that they deserved ALL the criticism they were getting. That's a Utah State education for you. Also it was Warbow that brought up Saint Mary's and the WCC... Again, another reading comprehension issue by you. The post below by Warbow... I simply brought up that I agreed that San Diego State and Monmouth deserved in, but St Mary's had no business being in the dance based on their shameful non-conference. Simple as that
  15. If St Mary's didn't play all their games at home except one I might buy that excuse. It was St Mary's who refused to give out home and home's.
