Is there a way to cash in on the nuetral site loophole BYU

Recommended Posts

How about a double header with Wyoming and CSU or Air Force with Colorado and Nebraska at the Pepsi Center?

I like that idea, the Sun Belt did a similar thing this past weekend matching up Mid Tennessee State and Memphis in one game and Western Kentucky vs. Tennessee in the other in two games in Nashville.

found with their lawyer? can/should the rest of us do the same? can the local tv stations air it...should BYU TV take over instead (neutral games for everyone)?

How can we bank on this and milk it ?

Only schools that have easy access to a neutral site arena would be able to take advantage of the neutral site loophole.

That would definitely leave UNM without an option -- unless you consider Tingley Coliseum as an option (compared to The Pit... uh, no).

CSU and AFA have options -- AFA at the World Arena in Colo. Springs and both at Denver at the Pepsi Center or the Denver Coliseum (which is just a bit better than Tingley).

SDSU has the Sports Arena, which is not in the best shape.

Utah and BYU have the Jazz' home arena, so they're good.

Wyoming has the new arena in Casper.

TCU has some options in Ft. Worth,

and UNLV has a couple of options that are less desirable than the T&M (we saw the Orleans Arena last year) tho the MGM Arena isn't bad.

As you can see, UNM is pretty much the only school without a good neutral court option.

If you go to football, it reduces further -- down to CSU and AFA (maybe Wyoming if you stretch it to Denver -- don't see it) and TCU in Dallas (they have two options -- Texas Stadium and the Cotton Bowl).

And that's it.

TCU does not really have a option in Fort Worth besides the convention center and that is a pretty low quality arena and how I understand it they charge a very high price for rent. During the Tubbs years TCU used it a few times for OOC games against the likes of Texas Tech. I guess American Airlines in Dallas would be a option if TCU could put together a good holiday tournament or something, but I don't see that happening.

Anyone can pick up the games at a neutral site. Even ESPN can (It's not like they would, however.)

"Had to come back real quick for this one.....

Boise St finished 4th in the coaches poll, same as Utah. Had Petersen violated the rules and voted Boise St #1 like Whittingham, Boise St would have finished no worse than THIRD and very likely 2nd. Look at how few votes seperated BSU and Florida.
