New CSU coaches salaries

Recommended Posts

This shows President Penley's and AD Kowalczyk's commitment to athletics!

Fairchild's new contract pays $700,000 annually for 5 years with incentives for BCS games and conference chapionships.

His assistants will be paid from a $1.25 million pool which is $300,000 more than Lubick had.

It's good to be a RAM!

Did I read right on another thread that Fairchild gets a bonus for beating Wyoming or was that TIC? Congrats on the get.

Nothing to really say here.....except GO MWC!!

Yes, I believe that is true. He will receive a bonus for beating Wyoming.

Which should be just as frequent as it was while Lubick was HC. 11-4 against the pokes.

I love the new commitment to athletics at CSU. Dr. Penley hired Kowalczyk to turn around CSU and he's doing it.

We'll see how it all works out but PK is obviously very serious about winning which is a great thing for CSU and the MWC.

The wyoming stipulation in the contract is there a link to that? If this is true that is awesome!!

Ok, I just saw it on the MNt, what's the deal with your new coach being introduced at the press conference OVER THE PHONE!!?!?!?!

If he is officially hired...which he is. At the VERY LEAST he should be present for the media and more importantly the fans of CSU! Instead he is calling in from Buffalo. Now that he is the CSU HC I guess it's still more important for him to devote his time to the Buffalo Bils? What's the deal?

Part of the deal in taking the CSU HC job was that he would be able to finish his commitment to the Buffalo Bills as their OC. When the season is over he will be heading for Ft Collins. IMO, it says a lot about his commitment level to his work...

I think he is trying not to burn bridges. Buffalo is in the middle of a playoff run and losing your OC is pretty devastating.

I would prefer him to be out recruiting but the assistants he's just hired are doing that.

The article lists Long as the 2nd highest paid coach in the MWC at $716k behind Patterson's $1.2M. I believe Whittingham's contract was for $750K. I could be mistaken. Also, I imagine Mendenhall's salary is somewhere in that zip code, although that will likely never be part of the public record.

Of course that would be Chuck LONG at SDSU and not Rocky Long at UNM.

Whittingham's guaranteed money is $675. If he meets certain criteria, his bonuses will put him well over that figure though.

"Had to come back real quick for this one.....

Boise St finished 4th in the coaches poll, same as Utah. Had Petersen violated the rules and voted Boise St #1 like Whittingham, Boise St would have finished no worse than THIRD and very likely 2nd. Look at how few votes seperated BSU and Florida.

SO we have:

Patterson 1.2 million base

Mendenhall 1million+ base??

C. Long 716,000 base

Fairchild 700,000 base

Whittingham 675,000 base

What are the others making? Glenn, Calhoun, R. Long and Sanford? Less I presume.

I think you are off base. <_< The figures above are potential salary or total salary, not base salary. However, I would glady exchange my salary for any of the above....base or not.

Go Pokes!!

Total Salary is the terminology I should have used instead of Base salary.
