MWC Bowl Picks

Recommended Posts

I think I had one of my better prognosticating seasons. I'm usually between 50 and 60%. This year I believe I went 54-18 with great guesses the last three or four weeks.

I've stated before, that I like the MWC chances in all five bowl games. And yet, I don't know if I'd bet the farm on any of them.

TCU-Houston- I really don't know a lot about these kind of Cougars. Are Hakeem or Clyde the Glide or even Dave Rose on the team? How 'bout that Klingler dude or Andre Ware? Maybe Jim Nance? I think he played golf for the Cougs. I know they beat CSU, but so did pretty much everybody else. Yes, that is an underhanded shot at the Cowboys. TCU showed a little offensive life late in the season. If I were a betting man, I'd probably be willing to take a shot on this one. Frogs by 14.

AFA-Cal- You would think AFA would be a huge favorite in this one, but maybe Cal will wake up. They must have the potential. Remember how high they were rated in the early season? The run attack catches Cal off guard. Flyboys by 6.

UNM-Nevada- Okay, I plan on missing this one. Hear that New Mexico boys? I've read about how great this freshman Wolf Pack QB is. Living in WAC country, I've also seen him quite a bit. He can be very impressive, but he can also be just abysmal. The Lobos have something like 27 all MWC players so they must be very good. Besides, it's a 6-6 WAC team. What are they doing in any kind of Bowl? Still last year, I said I would never pick the Lobos in a bowl again until they won one. Go out and give me that opportunity next year. Nevada by 3. (By the way, on the Pick 'ems I've got UNM.)

yootar-Navy- I really think this will be a good one. I think the Navy attack could give ewetah fits. On the other hand, count me among those that thought the youts were very, very good at the end of the season. Just not good enough to hold for that last minute and a half. (Yes, I had to do it) If BJ controls the game as he is capable, I think the utz should win. However, I wouldn't lay a nickel on this one. Look forward to watching and once again nation thanks for the invitation. Dreaded red scourge from the north by 4.

BYU-UCLA- Still hate the match up, but I hate it for other reasons than most Cougar fans. This team has already beat the Cougs. I think BYU has improved a lot, and I'm not so sure the Bruins have. I also think BYU controlled the first game with the exception of early play and some dumb mistakes. All said, I won't be surprised either way. On paper it should be a BYU blow out, except for one thing. The last time, they lost. I think this game will depend more on Hall/Collie/Pitta, and maybe Unga catching the ball than Harvey running. I'm a homer, Cougars by 17.

GO MWC!! (Prove me wrong Lobos)

GO COUGARS!

I agree with all picks, except I will still pick New Mexico. But have to say they need to get back their "Mojo" they lost it during the the last half of the season. I hope Coach Long found it during the break between the Bowl games.

TCU by 10

Air Force by 12

New Mexico by 2 (come on New Mexico just win)

Utah by 13

BYU 14
