  1. So, another Convert bait threat that erupted on his face... I know what I wrote. This time showing his homophobia/bigotry towards non-cis/hetero people. What's more, while bisexuals do swing both ways, its not uncommon for them to have a preferred gender they like. Like many bisexual women may prefer dating men, but will date a woman instead if that woman is attractive to them. I think saying it also goes the other way, and the same deal for bi men.
  2. He was the artist for the whole series. Chrono Trigger as well.
  3. We are so proud of you, Convert. Such a grown up boy you are! Now, why don't you go to the Taylor Swift thread and post there. Because this thread, is about Akira Toriyama. Remember your ABCs? Those will help you learn the difference between Taylor Swift and Akira Toriyama in spelling. Now, run along and play with your little friends! And tell your mom to expect plenty of company tonight!
  4. LOL No kidding. First couple of episodes would be campaigned against, HARD, by both sides. But, that was humor back in the 1980s for you. But, yeah. It seems his son has taken over the direction of the Dragon Ball franchise now, with the manga remaining under Toyotaro.
  5. While Yu Yu Hakusho is a great series in its own right, Toriyama didn't work on it. Dr. Slump (his original big hit series, in Japan), yes. Dragon Ball though, yeah. I'll be honest, I did not expect to see this on the MWCBoard. Most on here simply are not into anime/manga. For me though, Dragon Ball Z was, and is, one of my favorite series to this day. Is it perfect? By all means, no. Wonky animation and such did plague it from time to time. And the English dub had some, "interesting" tones not in the original works (the "Superman" Goku). But yet, this series has touched literally millions of people worldwide with a simple, but inspiring, message; never give up. For those that are curious, check out the original anime series, Dragon Ball, and the. DBZ Kai (for better lines, and less filler). If you are still into it at that point, Dragon Ball Super came out and has continued the story, in animated film, series, and manga format. But yeah. Dragon Ball paved the way for anime to come to the rest of the world. And inspired future manga creators of One Piece and Naruto, and several more big name series. This is not a small deal, by any means. BBC, NBC, Time, and AP News are all running articles on this. To say nothing of the youtubers and streamers as well. And the way Goku operates as a character, I would not be surprised if many student athletes have been inspired by him to keep getting better.
  6. Darby Allen has apparently said he's now going to climb Mt. Everest and on a long break (heal up first, man!). Sting, no more match time (obviously), but it seems Tony Kahn is talking to him about staying in another capacity.
  7. Scripted, would be a better term. The outcomes are, at least. But the physicality, punishment the athletes put themselves through, and injuries they get, are very real. One of the most famous matches, where Mankind Mick Foley and Undertaker fought in Hell in a Cell, Mick told Undertaker, as they were on top of the 30 foot cage, to throw him off. And he did. The video is easy to find. Mick survived, one of the most respected wrestlers there is, and put his body through hell throughout his career. The match had Undertaker winning, but in those days, in WWF (at the time) most matches were done on the fly rather than go over the match before hand (WCW did the latter, and when WWF became WWE, and a while after the two "merged", began doing this as well).
  8. A big salute to one of the most iconic wrestler ever, one that old Vinny boy almost destroyed a decade ago, but thankfully failed.
  9. Many believe that the cause of it was all the headshots, diving headbutts, and numerous other concussions combined with losing one of his best friends in Eddie Gurerro. Not excusing what he did, which was horrific. But in its own way, still a tragedy. On another note, Benoit's other son, from his first marriage, looks like a skinnier version of Chris. Give him Chris' muscles, and he would be a deadringer. I only hope he never got too much crap for what his dad did. But, he apparently went pro-wrestling there for a while, but hasn't done anything in some years.
  10. Guy had gotten his life turned around, reconciled with his wife, stopped the drugs, and everything looked bright for him. RIP Eddie.
  11. Onscreen, yeah. Offscreen, Macho Man despised Hogan. And according to only Hogan, they made up right before Randy died. But no one can collaborate on that. So, take it with more than a grain of salt.
  12. Man, the Monday Night Wars were a hell of a time. I didn't know they were competing, as I was WCW fan. Sting, Goldberg, DDP, the cruiserweights flying all over the place, the WCW vs NWO. I also had nearly all the N64 wrestling games too. Ultimo Dragon and Rey Mysterion were my favorites in the cruiserweights. And Rey is STILL going strong, and wrestling with his son as well! And Rey, a guy that has always been a face, with his son, whom has turned into one of the most successful heels. I did check out of WCW for a few years, but then I got back into it. Only for it to go belly up and get bought out by Vince, live. That was a kick in the gut. Then when Vince buried nearly all of the WCW guys, even the big names that came later on, I checked out. The DDP burial was awful in all ways. Storywise, match wise, booking, etc. Basically killed his career. And DDP, not only a face for WCW, People's Champ (before Rock even) at that, but one of the best outside of the ring as well. And that was before DDP Yoga. Goldberg had to let Tripple H win in the Elimination Chamber, even though he took out everyone else. Booker T got buried, but stuck with WWE for some reason. And Sting... Oh man. He helped make TNA something, and refused WWE when he saw his WCW friends get buried and disrespected one after the other. But decided to go anyway. And dear God, it was "the invasion" that no one liked at the time, no one wanted again, and got buried by HHH. And the NWO came out to support him? That was a head scratcher. Then his second match, got a major injury from a buckle bomb. No belt, no major wins, just buried to once again, make HHH look "strong". Vince McMahon may have a decent eye for business, but he's a petty bastard that would rather make a guy look bad, then put them over or even give the fans the epic match they want and make millions. Even WCW, for how many blunders they had, still knew to give Sting the win over Hogan and the NWO. Ironically, HHH himself seems to understand this better than Vince, with the whole thing with Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.
  13. Someone want to explain to Ozzy the "edit" option in his posts? You know, where he can add on to a previous post rather than make 2 more? Because, unless I missed something, you don't actually get any prizes for post count.
